  1. I know this is beating a dead horse, it's been discussed so many times. I just lost it this morning on the way to work, when I'm behind about 5 cars at the corner of Macland & Poplar Springs Rd and we come upon a flashing yellow traffic light. The light on Poplar was flashing red and there were no cars traveling at that light. Oh NO, what do we do!!! What do we do? Each freaking car takes turns coming to a complete stop, that's what we do. I understand sometimes at busy intersections slowing almost to a complete stop, because you don't know if their light is yellow is well. This was not t
  2. Sorry I keep hearing the forgiveness aspect brought up over and over and over and over. I'm tired of the begging. Yeah he did the time, so did a lot of other parolees. I don't hear the rest of society begging for their forgiveness. How about the guy that walks out the gate today at one of our state prisons, after doing ten years for a few felonies. Let's see one of these sports casters or bloggers hire the guy for his personal business, or move him into the house next door, because by gones are by gones. That's showing forgiveness for a man and living up to this idea that when someone does pri
  3. I am not an Idol fan and have never even seen the show. I won't even go into it. I also am not a fan of new country. I did have a comment to make however on Jennifer Nettles. I had never even knew she was the singer for Sugarland until I actually heard her name mentioned and it brought up a memory. I used to frequent a bar a long time ago where she would play every month or so when she was traveling in a van, playing as a solo act. Her style back then was more folk/rock. I can tell you for sure, the twang I hear now is certainly new, because she was nowhere near twangy or country back then. I
  4. You know it could be a way to get a few extra dollars raised for the building fund, and all those other other funds. That'll get the men in the pews bringing out the dollars and throwing them in the collection plate.
  5. Something that never was cleared up about this matter. Was this person carrying a "machine gun", a class 3 weapon? (A machine gun is a fully automatic mounted or portable firearm, usually designed to fire rounds in quick succession from an ammunition belt or large-capacity magazine, typically at a rate of several hundred rounds per minute...Wikipedia) Or was he carrying a semiautomatic weapon that "looks" like a machine gun, but does not have a switch. There's a big difference between a semi-auto AR15 and a fully auto capable M16, although they look a lot alike. The class 3 weapon would make
  6. I might as well write out my check now to the state for his legal fund and housing and food bill for the next 50 or more years. Matter of fact, I'll have a truck come get my gym equipment tomorrow to ship it to him at the prison so he can stay in shape, while we work hard to pay for his lodging. I'll also go shopping tomorrow for a nice desk top to send over to make sure he has a computer to use everyday so he can keep up his legal fight while in prison. It's better this way than the state forcing me to give to this piece of crap. We all know the process here, and the fact that so many of us s
  7. I've been watching the footage on the news and seeing the people of Japan is what moves me the most. I saw the lines for food and they stretched for several blocks. Like you said people holding their kids patiently, no arguing, no fighting, no looting. When they went inside the shelter, the people had voluntarily set up recycling stations and were working to keep things in order. Business owners are cleaning up their businesses by hand with intentions of opening. My heart goes out to them for the tragedy they have incurred and at the same time I admire them for their resiliency.
  8. Never understood how ass clowns like this can find humor in a tragedy such as the one in Japan. I guess whats humorous now is that this douche bag couldn't even keep a job doing the voice of a freakin duck.
  9. I hate to hear that, he's lost a lot people very close to him. I love Jerry's solo stuff as well, Boggy Depot, Degradation Trip, all good Cd's. I saw him live on his solo tour at music midtown and he had broken his arm so he couldn't play. Later I actually ran into him and he said a few words, very nice guy. Out of all the homes on MTVs Cribs, his was the best, very laid back farm. I still enjoy seeing them now, although I miss Layne.
  10. Out of all the grunge bands, Alice in Chains has always been my favorite. No one matched their lyrics and Layne's vocals. Mike seemed to have trouble predating the success of the band and never could escape. Sad to say when you can see things like this coming. After Layne's death and now this, Jerry and the rest of the band probably have some strong views in the way of self control. RIP
  11. Hey moving to Cobb does not mean you can escape political stupidity. One name.. Bobby Franklin. Check out HB7,HB3,HB1. This is another subject, so let's stay on track. My point is these types are everywhere in GA. I agree with term limits wholeheartedly, it keeps politicians from getting too comfortable in a job where we are the supervisor. When tax payer funded politicians sit in a job year after year and accomplish nothing, vote against their constituents wishes and take us for granted, they become welfare recipients. I respect any man's religious and political views, but when it's someone
  12. Like I said the GCC has made these politicians their Bit--s and nothing will change. It's good ole boy politics as usual. This is why i look at politicians , and don't give a damn what party they belong to, and think they are a piece of ----. Seems like they all think we are a bunch of stupid hicks that are just good for one thing , a vote, so they can keep their government job. They are as useless a t-- on a bull.
  13. Thanks for pointing this out. I was wondering who the scumbag politician was that was taking me for being too stupid to vote on legal matters taking place in my own back yard. They might think I'm too stupid to vote on these matters, but at least I haven't been made the Georgia Christian Coalition's Bit-- like they have. Our capital needs an enema.
  14. My wife and I are always looking for new hikes nearby for the days when time won't allow for us to escape to north Georgia and beyond. We love to just get out in the woods and walk, even of it's just a short 1 miler. The beginning of this thread had me hooked but when the aspect of trash was introduced I thought I could move it down the list. Then by the end, I'm reading of freaks and illegal activity and everything went down hill. Actually made me mad that low lifes can ruin a place that was never meant for them. Amazing that I've hiked miles deep into the mountains all my life and never had
  15. Not a week goes by that I don't encounter someone that complains about government support, but later in conversation they are exposed as a hypocrite. I hear them complain about the users of food stamps and then they are talking about their family member who is on SSI due to ADHD, being over weight, back pains or God knows what. Sometimes it's even the person speaking to me, that mentions their first check for that disability involving that mysterious disease they have. They are able to sit at the computer all day and post on blogs and FB, or even go shopping at Walmart five times a week, but w
  16. I think a taste of Paulding County would be a smart move for the PRIVATE restaurant owners. I don't need to taste the fanchise restaurants, if you tasted one in CA you tasted it in GA. I'm interested in what our local residents have to offer up for our taste buds. I may not venture over to Cobb sometimes if I knew someone had something to fit what I was looking for. Just a thought.
  17. I hate to see people lose their jobs, but it's purely the fault of BBV not keeping up with technology and ripping off customers for decades. My wife and I tried to remain with them for a year or two after the Netflex craze came about, thinking it was good to walk into a store and see someone. After a while, the fees , over priced movies and lure of new technology that BBV just didn't want to pursue led us to Netflex. We even tried their mail in DVD service for awhile and wouldn't you know they adjusted the terms every 4-6 months as to how many you can rent, exchanges at the store, how much per
  18. I seriously think that over the decades the political parties of this country have taken the issue of our environment and found ways they could gain votes from either side. The same way they look at any other issue or cause in this country, it becomes not about the issue but about the supporters or nonsupporters of the issue that are potential votes. I would be willing to bet that the majority of the republican politicians that are against certain environmental regulations would be clueless if you asked them about the effects of certain pollutants. Out of sight out of mind is sometimes the att
  19. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BQ-pvhXS5No Speaking of double rainbows, and yes I think this guy took your advice. And for the auto tune version http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1w5vtqbFwp0
  20. So very true, which is why I use my company laptop for "company" business and never access anything personal. I have often wondered for any technical gurus. I use my personal laptop on my own wireless network at times, which makes me wonder if info can be seen on my network being accessed by other computers in the home.
  21. There are reasons to keep your employer out of certain aspects of your private life. I have worked for numerous supervisors over my many years of employment with the same company. So many of them have different political leanings, religious beliefs and personal lives. I found it the policy for a good working relationship was to keep my private life just that, private. I was never one to discuss my private life beyond the surface level kids ball game, family cook out etc. Whether it's right or not, I can see some employers will judge and lean towards or against an existing employee or potentia
  22. I fully support an employer having a candidates FB passwords and any other online blog, email account, photo storage site and anything online that reveals their personal life. I also support handing over passwords for your bank account, retirement account, 40lk( let them see your retirement tendencies). Handing over your keys could be a good idea too so that the employer could check out your car, neat car vs dirty car, worn brake pads and tires equals fast driver etc. Your keys would allow them to also come to your house and have a look to see your food selection, high calorie foods equals hea
  23. I really don't think people understand the impact of the price of a barrel of oil. It goes so much further than fueling up our cars to go to work or out to shop. Any aspect of your life, be it, medical care, food, water, education, climate control, building materials, right down to the prescriptions you are putting into your mouth and the shirt you are wearing on your back is affected by whats in that barrel. We are at a point where going shopping for a smart car or civic tomorrow will not solve all of the problems. Crude oil is used for so much more than just to refine for use as fuel for our
  24. I have a white refrigerator that has been stored in our garage for a couple of years now that works. I would really like to get rid of it by donating it to someone that needs an appliance, and could haul it away. I just don't know of anyone that handles this sort of donation, much less picking it up themselves. I would even give it to an individual if they came by to pick it up. Like I said, it was left in our house upon purchase a couple of years ago and we bought new appliances, so I moved it to dry storage in the garage with intentions of giving it to someone that could use it one day. It's
  25. I had all the windows open and loving it. Always love those first warm days of the year when I can open up the windows and air out the house and and enjoy a nice breeze. The boys were complaining about not turning on the AC and I gave the speech about climate control making you soft. I don't think they liked that one. I'm always the last one to turn on the heat in the winter, saying we can dress warmer or put a log on the fire, and the last one to turn on the AC, waiting until the pollen hits. I was even riding with the windows down in the car yesterday.
