They caught him! Ok,so this Middle Eastern "looking" man was caught taking pictures of the airport in Cartersville, GA and had something wrong with his car plates. The original post which was mentioned in the "10 years Wow" post, referred to the guy as a "raghead". Of course this could mean a multitude of religions, Sikh, Hindu, Buddhism, and nationalities, Iranian, Pakistanian, Indian etc. Some of course can be of Middle Eastern appearance but not of Middle Eastern descent, it is important to get that right. One would not want to confuse Egyptian, which is actually African with Israeli. I wo

Delta Rocket Launch... Watch LIVE!
HiPlainsDrifter replied to Caped Crusader's topic in RECENT TOPICS
What a memory to always have. Launches of any type will never become old to me. I've been fascinated with them since childhood and always will. My boys and I watched the launch this morning and it's always something interesting to us. -

Another "pill mill" shutdown - Henry Co.
HiPlainsDrifter replied to onekidmom's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I agree that pain management doctors are not all quacks and their offices, pill mills. There are some specialists out there that legally treat people that have been referred to them by their primary care physician. I myself have had pain issues after surgery, cancer etc, though never on the level of what I read on here, but my doctor never just handed me a pain script, it was accompanied by a preventative med as well. The doses were watched very closely and monitored. Of course then there's the other end of the spectrum due to the abuse that takes place today. This has placed so many doctors in -
Thank you very much for informing us. I will take the family by to view when the chance presents itself.

I'm sure there are going to be some different takes on this story, especially from those in the field. However I look at things in a common sense way. If a man can compete in a contest that requires him to swim 2.4 miles, then bike 112 miles and then run 26 miles, not to mention he competes in marathons, he can work. He gets $4,200 per month tax free in disability plus free health care. But the fire department says he can't be hired back because of a mishap where he injured the nerve in his elbow while working in the kitchen. Sorry but situations like this help to bleed the system. What a

As far as Sunday. Yes there have been some strong feelings to over come in 10 years and there still are some hurtful ones that come about at times. But we all need to heal as a country and remember the ones that were lost. This country truly needs to heal. Yes I will surly take a moment here and there to remember, but I will also move on with the day as America needs to , in order to show that we have over come. I plan to grill and watch opening day of the NFL.

I'm curious as to why this was not publicized any more. Must be hush hush. I searched the term "rag heads" as described, video taping Cartersville airport and couldn't find anything. Rag Heads being defined by the Urban Dictionary as: 3. raghead A derogatory term used to describe a male of middle eastern descent, the part “rag” refers to a turban and the part “head” refers to the chocolate coloured face of the person. Other terms for a male of middle eastern decent include: paki, sand n----, oil n----, chocolate face, chocolate drop and desert rat. I may search those terms as well, mayb

Heard it mentioned many times over the years that Muslims never do anything to denounce the negative things committed by the extremists among them. So when I read this all I could say was, good for them and you have to give credit where credit is due. It sure speaks positively and I hope they get a little more media attention than just the AJC. I'm not trying to open a political or religious debate folks, so please in light of the upcoming anniversary let's be respectful to one another. I just found this article and thought I would share. $500 power bills for cooling the house for 4 months , now it drops to the 60's and I'm asked if I will turn the heat on to heat up the house. Seriously? :yahoo:

If times are soooo tough and unemployment is so high...

I learned the value of money and a work ethic early by mowing lawns. I am going to date myself here, but when I saw the other kids at school wearing new levi's and leather nike's, I wanted them too. Dad said they were to expensive and would buy me cheaper jeans and shoes, and if I wanted to buy those I could earn the money and purchase them myself. He brought home a used lawn mower, so I wouldn't wear down our own, a gas can and some yard tools. After working in the summer heat mowing yards, it made me a little more frugal. I thought twice before I spent that money that I had earned sweating i -
This post reminds me of when my wife and I were searching for homes before we found our current house just a few years ago. We drove through hundreds of neighborhoods over a period of 4 months. I can remember seeing immaculate neighborhoods and the ones that were likened to trashy. I'm not a snobby person and have no problem with pick up trucks, boats, motorcycles, gardens, flags etc being at a home. I like those things and have those things. But whenever we were in a neighborhood that I thought had an excessive amount of homes with cars in the yard, or on the street, broken down cars, it was

I was noticing that the guy works, excuse me most likely soon to be "formerly worked", in an ER. Nice to know for the locals, that this guy has taken care of them at one time or another. I'm always fascinated with some of the jobs people hold when they are arrested for crap like this. Seems like a bully who has probably pushed a lot of people around in his life time. If I had to place a bet I would say he wouldn't hesitate to hit a female as well. Must suck for his son to have such a DB for a father.

Depends on what caliber weapon he was carrying and whether or not it was loaded. It looked as though she could have been waxing the car and he may have been supervising. Lots of unanswered questions.

Christian Church Lets Muslims Use Their Building

I think it's a great idea. It's kind of a time share thing without the beach, but with the collection plate and prayers. It would be cool to try this with other religions. I'm curious who will share with the Scientologist. Rodney King May 1992 I agree, now preach on. -
So can you get a ticket for illegally using your windshield wipers? Or how about your defrost?

I think it's a great idea. My wife and I frequent privately owned restaurants by preference, no matter where in the world we may be living or visiting. We love Paulding County and have enjoyed the choices offered so far, but I am sure there are some we have missed and some we would love to sample. So yes I really like the idea, if it involves privately owned establishments and not anything I can go online and buy shares in the company and then purchase a meal at a box store and microwave at home to get the same taste. I am sure there are some local restaurants that we are missing and sometimes

I realize it's a contract dispute, and what you don't realize about me is that I could care less if the guys a Rev, Bishop, Pope or whatever. If he was brought in to assist in winning the case then so be it, pay up. I'm just bringing up the fact that it would seem that his religious background, which is apparent by calling in a "REV", may play against him. Which is ironic because I would think that may be one of the reasons he was called in the first place, because he was a trusted confidant. This was obviously an advantage in the beginning. I have sat on juries and I can be very fair, so don'

another chain restaurant coming to hiram
HiPlainsDrifter replied to msgastorm's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I would love to see a privately owned seafood restaurant open. Every time I hear of an OG or any other corporate food court joint opening I think of the freezer section at Kroger and what I can throw in the microwave, without having to wait for a seat and pay a tip. I'm always glad for the people that will secure jobs, but for me personally , the corporate food joints leave a lot to be desired for me. To each his own. Glad you guys are happy. -
If you think that someone's title or place in the community doesn't play a part in court you are living in OZ. As far as my opinion, it's like another part of mine and your anatomy and many others, just showing it. These people preach a standard that they hold society to every day, so when they don't hold up their end of the bargain I'm just calling them out on it.
-
When you place the title of Rev before your name, Judge, Officer etc, you automatically are held to a higher standard. You can claim the guy isn't one of the same all anyone wants to, but he still is a Reverend. If he had completed a great deed everyone would have said what a fine God fearing man he is, but since he is using tactics associated with gluttony, all of a sudden he doesn't represent his faith. Not all Christians should be judged based on this one man's mission to extract money, but he surely should be held accountable for his actions.

I was listening to a local radio station recently and heard a commercial advertising for a company that could change the tide of negative comments online. It started with an Orthodontist that claimed he was wondering what patients had drifted away and then someone led him to a website where a complaint was listed by someone who had a payment dispute. The commercial goes on to describe how they can assist in overcoming negative reviews and help boosts positive reviews. My first thought was, so you can hire someone to put up fake comments and wipe away posted comments, whether they are true or n

Interesting article I ran across on Yahoo the other day

Agreed that those in financial straits can watch their expenses and live by their means. "Necessity" has been stretched in it's definition beyond belief over the past few decades. Way too many people these days push their finances beyond what is needed. However the idea that one should get a second or third job just to feed a family should tell us that something is seriously wrong. The idea that ANYONE can become a Bill Gates or Steve Jobs tomorrow is a great utopian idea, and one easy to suggest when we're one with a financially secure job with benefits. However realism sets in and we all hav
