  1. As I stressed earlier, it's too bad that the ministers, teachers and government officials can't get this motivated to find out why the test scores needed to be changed in the first place. When it comes to focusing on the students themselves, they turn their backs and choose to ignore the issue.
  2. I guess the package he was delivering would have been able to fit in even a smaller box then heh?
  3. I'm not understanding why ministers are involved in this and why they need to be negotiated with. The persons involved are the actual school employees that changed test scores. It's not like these were spelling tests or history exams, they were state test which I would think places them in a different category legally. Either way, it was a scum bag move by the persons involved to hide their poor performance as well as their students. I don't think religious leaders have a place here unless the schools were private religious schools to begin with. If the persons involved want representation the
  4. So he thought she would would laugh at his package he was delivering?
  5. My wife and I would like to know as well before leaving, thanks for asking.
  6. I was looking out for this yesterday when it all started. I look at the frozen over deck and the front steps and envision broken bones, which is why I take it carefully.
  7. Wife is almost home but has seen a terrible accident near 120 and 92, many cars.
  8. Wife is still driving home! She got to the Kroger at Macland and saw the red brake lights and even though it's Christmas time knew that it was not a good sight. She usually takes Macland as it's a direct route, but with it being a parking lot it just wasn't an option. She's patient but knows when it's not moving at all, to move to plan B quick. She went to 120 and is now stopped again. She said 120 looks terrible.
  9. My wife and I are just reaching this point and I can't say we can put a age limit as of yet. We tend to lower the amount of money we spend as the kids get older. With one college age daughter that we still chose to give smaller gifts to and a son in the Army that we actually enjoyed mailing gifts to. The younger sons will receive a little more for a few more years. I think I will always give my kids a little something even if it's a gift card for very small amount. Our kids that are away stay in touch every day though, even our son in the Army calls a few times a week. Our sons at home show ap
  10. My wife is still driving home after an hour and a half from Buckhead, usually she is home by now. She is from Michigan and is experienced at driving on ice. She has passed several cars in ditches and says that cars are still passing her driving well over the speed limit where she can tell there's black ice.
  11. Well when my honey makes it home we will be having some hot tomato soup topped with mozzarella cheese with a side of cheese bread.
  12. Honey left Buckhead an hour ago and is just now on E/W connector. I'm worried about her drive.
  13. Oh no I'm worried about my baby who's driving home.
  14. If you're referring to the Steelers or the Patriots I agree they are both very formidable teams, but by all means they are beatable. They both have achilles heels and there are teams like the Falcons, if not the Saints or Giants that can take them out in a high stakes game like the Super Bowl. The team that goes into this thinking they are unbeatable will find out just what their weakness are this year.
  15. Ahhhhh, nothing like sitting around in an ice storm eating slices of bread and drinking glasses of milk!
  16. Cool video, problem there's missing footage. The Saints will have to fight a lot harder this year to make it to Dallas. If they are making a video for 2010, Falcon fans can supply them with some cool footage of that Atlanta field goal in the last few seconds of OT inside the Super Dome. I have a feeling this next meeting will be even more intense and should prove to be one of both team's hardest fought games all year.
  17. Sorry after hearing this story on the radio this morning when details were sketchy it was made to sound as if he was a member. As far as his gun skills, I mentioned the word "fortunately" in my comment concerning how bad his aim might have been. Then again after seeing the video I have to wonder if he was missing intentionally at that close of a range. Thank God no one but the gunman was killed.
  18. Back when I was a kid my parents did things in a not so nice and not so politically correct way. They went through a list of diseases that I could develop if I didn't eat a good share of vegetables. Anything from scurvy to cancer, they described what would happened like a good nutritionist or doctor in the day would. After that it was you will eat your vegetables or else. Man I love my parents, we laugh about it today. Of course when I go to their house I always eat a small amount of vegetables. I think you might wanna try some of the other poster's advice.
  19. oh me too. The temps give it that Christmas feeling. Besides it's supposed to be cold. I'm loving it.
  20. You all will say I'm crazy but here goes. I went out this morning at 6 to start my wife's car, because I always like her to get into a warm car for her commute, and at 25 degrees I thought it felt so much warmer today! You gotta understand though, yesterday it was around 13 degrees with the wind blowing so look at the comparison. Let's you know just how cold it is when 25 feels warmer.
  21. "Clay Duke" sounds like a western gunslinger name, obviously he's not since he fired numerous shots and hit no one, fortunately! Sounds like he was a time bomb waiting to go off, good thing he never went to a range to practice. I don't understand how someone who works receiving at a manufacturing plant has to undergo a more stringent security background check than say...a school board member!
  22. I am very sorry for your loss. I will say that here in Atlanta I have driven up on many processions without realizing what they were until I saw the lead cars way ahead. I will give leniency to anyone who pulls out onto a busy road in the greater Atlanta area and comes up on a procession without realizing it at first. With so many cars on the road and the traffic we experience I can see how there can be some confusion. There is a difference in encountering a procession out on 285 in Sandy Springs and encountering one in Rockmart. But once it's realized that driver needs to show respect and mov
  23. I was living south of Atlanta at that time, but remember that storm. It was labeled the Storm of the Century, which indicates it's very very unique. One or two times in 40 years is pretty good odds. I take the forecast for flooding and tornadoes much more serious because they are weather systems that we are much more prone to experience and do on many occasions. Usually in their aftermath destruction of property is left which dictates into huge financial loss. Those systems bring me tainted water with no sewage, no housing and possible death. I can always wrap up in some extra blankets, throw
