Ok This is all new to me, all this time I thought there were just a lot of people who were Pices riding around or displaying their pride on advertising material.

Interesting article I ran across on Yahoo the other day

There's a time and place for everything. I'm one that does not fit into the "red" box or "blue" box when it comes to politics. I don't see the world in black and white, so there are chances that I can find a time to agree with many in their opinions. Cheers! Good Points -

The whole retirement savings statistic is scary. I've seen that fall for years and years. I kind of look at it as animals storing food away for the winter, if you are not putting anything away in the warmth of summer, and winter hits, you will die. Really has me wondering what's going to happen 10-30 years from now when there's an influx of retiring people, or just people who can't work any longer. I've seen far too many people retire and then have to go back to work, or just prolong retirement because it's unreachable. I doubt that in 10-20 years the government will be a source to go running -
I thought it would be in the plans one day. No road in or around Atlanta can stay a two lane forever, but I suppose there's good and bad with that one. My first sign that there would be widening and increased traffic one day is the opening of the new middle school at Macland and 120. My wife and I both knew that would create more traffic for us in the morning. Being that we're right here at Macland, I watch any construction. I just hate to see 278 and then Macland become another Barrett Pkwy, where it's just a cluster @&*# of businesses and traffic lanes. I still find businesses today that

I have always liked Macland being a two lane country road. I know it backs up sometimes, but I'm one that believes sometimes that making enlarging a space to ease congestion, sometimes invites more in to build more congestion. We already have 278, we don't need another.

I saw surveyors on Macland a few weeks ago so I knew the construction wasn't far behind. Now there is widening between Corner and Poplar, and some clearing on the corner of Macland and Florence. Anyone know what the plans are?

Illegal Alien Wins Lawsuit Against Sheriff

I like the way democratic and republican parties have ruled Washington for decades and people have crossed the border every day like clock work. All of a sudden in the past few years it seems everyone has decided that anyone that came across the border illegally should be dealt with in such a harsh matter. I never heard any of this years ago during the Nixon years, Carter years, Reagan years, Bush years, Clinton years etc. were taking place. As usual I always heard the hypocritical reports of judges, politicians etc, elephants and jackasses, that would be caught with illegals working for them -
I'm not a fan of Obama, but I really don't see this measure as anything associated with the president. My company that I have been employed with for several years, just sent out basically the same notice. I tend to understand their explanation and can understand how people can abuse the system. I had to send in a copy of my marriage license when I remarried years ago, but apparently I will have to send another copy as well as copies of birth certificates. I really feel like this is a move being taken by companies to cut health care cost due to abuse, rather than some democratic program to cont

I always pictured English crime as one my top fav comedians described it one time, Bill Hicks. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EZnEpaSOFwk -
I try to be courteous as well, but not impede traffic. Examples of when traffic is stopped and I can see someone has been stopped for quite some time trying to get out of a parking lot or making a turn. Trust me, the further you drive towards Atlanta and some of the surrounding counties, the less you will experience drivers letting someone in traffic. They won't let the ambulance into traffic with blaring lights, much less a private vehicle. As long as they are not blocking traffic, I enjoy courtesy.

Majority Americans Now SUPPORT Gay Marraige
HiPlainsDrifter replied to zoocrew's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Hey, it won't take passing gay marriage laws to start a gay apocalypse, gay people "marreeinn" everywhere , people marrying goats, gay this , gay that. All it's gonna take is to pass the Sunday alcohol sales ! Just ask a few politicians. -

Mark my words. From minor to major , SHE WILL CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. It may be today or next year , who knows, but there is no way someone can drive the way I have seen her described on a regular basis and not be in an accident, it will happen. -
Majority Americans Now SUPPORT Gay Marraige

This is another issue that makes me shake my head in wonder. I sit back and watch people who complain about big government sticking their noses in their health care, their jobs, guns etc, almost every day. But then when it comes to something as human as a union between two people, government intervention is ok. Sorry I don't get the hypocrisy. Gay people can sign any legal document in the US from a job contract, mortgage agreement, a voters registration card etc, just not a marriage certificate. I just don't see how it affects someone else if a gay couple is allowed to marry. Other than the us -
Ok men or wives what do you prefer for mens cut

Hard to find a lot of barber shops anymore, at least it seems to me. Used to be they were on every main street, now everything seems to be geared towards corporate/franchise unisex establishments. Important thing is how good of a job they do though. My wife has a saying about women, there are two things that are important to a woman to hang onto, a good gynecologist and a good hairstylist. She says once they find the right one, they never let them go. I tend to be the same way with whoever cuts my hair, no matter where they work. -

Sorry I will never buy the argument that criminals commit their acts because of poverty. It's just a damn excuse, and that's all it will ever be to me to cover up a useless human being. There are far too many examples of people living in poverty from different racial, religious ,national backgrounds etc. that live by the law and succeed in life. I've known people personally who came here to this country from Asia, India and other countries, that were living in what would amount to thatch houses with dirt floors, that are now engineers and doctors. It's because they applied themselves and didn' -
Have you ever told your bank that
HiPlainsDrifter replied to AustinPlantation's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I guess I've been very fortunate because I've traveled all over the place for decades and not once contacted the bank to alert them. I have never had a transaction denied either. This thread made me think of all those times I could have been there 3,000 miles from home and have my card locked down in an embarrassing moment or time of need. I've been in some pretty remote areas where it could have been a problem. Glad this was brought to my attention. -
I would decline. It's a matter of principle. I will say you have to pick your battles, so to each his own. I know some say it's wasting their time and the officer's time, but I would hate to think that our forefathers and soldiers after them "wasted" their time securing and protecting our rights. I respect LE, but I'm not one that follows the " if you're not doing anything wrong then why does it matter?" I find it so interesting that I meet people everyday that complain about the government's involvement in our lives, yet they are willing to just about submit to a public body cavity search, "

They are people from across different cultural lines who are releasing anger that is built up from environmental factors. Some really have no reason to be angry but are just opportunist that are evil. Whether is it the fact that they consider themselves to be poor, discriminated against, abused by authorities etc, there is a fuel that started their fire. They are now pulling their excuse card out of the deck and using it to destroy their surroundings and fellow human beings.

Thanks for sharing. What will this Luke has! I see things like that on certain days and it puts things in perspective. We also hear every time a player does something negative, and you're right, times like these are never recognized with the same intensity. -
This show is broadcast on that network that I grew up watching in the 80's that used to play music videos. MTV, used to stand for hmmmmmmm Music! that's it! Now it's just mindless reality crap, and bottom of the barrel at that mind you. No I don't watch the show that tells stories of the orange people. Way too much stimulating programing on these days to tune in to something scraped from the bottom of a porto-let. Besides I value my brain cells.

Coming from someone who has blood cousins who are Mexican, Cuban and the list goes on. Then the fact that so many of the people I've met through business are from South America, and my kids always have had first and second generation Portuguese kids in my house, yes I can tell the difference. Once you are around those cultures you begin to see the differences. Trust me I've been with some people when they were mistaken and it was very uncomfortable. Try someone from Pakistan that is mistaken for being from India, or someone who is a Jewish Israelis who is asked if they a Muslim from Iran or E

You're probably right, but as someone who has befriended, has a blood relative, or one my kids best friends from every continent on the planet, except the one on the bottom. People don't realize that there are differences between people from Mexico, Puerto Rico ,Guatemala etc. There are obvious physical and cultural differences, as well as cuisine and linguistics, even though Spanish is the chosen language. I can even pick out someone from South America who may speak Portuguese and be obvious to most that they are not Mexican, but you would be surprised at how many times I've seen it mistaken.

What an irritating video. eeeww , ewwww, Im scared Im scared, I don't know what to do, it's a water moccasin! And that was just the husband! Give me a freaking break. It was not a water moccasin. It wasn't even venomous. Sorry I think they didn't stop because they wanted attention and knew the video would be popular. Watching it made me wish a rat comes to visit them in the night so they understand the place of snakes in the environment.
