Climate Change Linked to Downfall of Ancient City of Angkor My link <snip> Yet at the height of its power the city was eventually abandoned. The reasons for this mass exodus of nearly 750,000 people remained a mystery to archaeologists with many theories being proposed to explain the decline of Angkor. Now one team of researchers has suggested the inhabitants abandoned the city because of a prolonged drought and the state's inability to cope with climate change. <snip> Angkor in Cambodia ... climate change.... 15th century It must have been all that fossil

Haven’t been to Ruby Falls, but we went to Cave Springs and saw, sort of, how that water comes out. After 10 or more years of taking parents and friends who come to visit Georgia, we were there and called the number for a tour. (It has posted hours, but no one was ever there.) The guy was close by and needed to be there anyway, and came and opened up the gate and let us into the cave. It was neat. Several other people who were there also joined in the exploration. I think it was two bucks a person or something very reasonable.

You know why Santa is always happy? < > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > He knows where all the..... "naughty girls" ........ live! Sorry, that picture just made me type that!!!!!

They are interesting to look at (truly creative) .... but I don't know if I would call them appetizing …you Evil Momma Santa! The only thing that might be worse is if you made them blue. They say the color blue is hard to eat ... but my kids like blue Jell-O ... go figure?

I have a friend who was stopped this past September by the car behind her when they were at a turn light. The woman said I think I saw a cat in your back wheel well... they spend several minutes trying to find the cat...had traffic go around them... could not find it. My friend went to the grocery store (which was where she was turning into,) again parked looked all over - nothing. Thought the woman might just be confused. She went in to get groceries, looked again all around the SUV just in case. Figured it had time to hop out if it had been in there. She drove home and one hour late

I see some points in the article, but I don't know that I entirely agree. I graduated college in the 80's and there were NO high paying jobs once we graduated. My father had pounded it into me that once I graduated it would be HARD to re-pay a student loan with the probable LOW salary I would make once I started working. He did NOT fill my head with an entitlement mentality that with a degree I would write my own ticket. Once I graduated, I took a job that did not require a degree just so I could at least get my foot in with a corporation that had room for advancement. (And

Growing up we never locked our doors. Dad said if you lock your doors people will think there is something of value to steal. We lived in many large cities, but always in neighborhoods. With the economy so bad, the desperate have become aggressive. Recessions bring out the worst in mankind. The class warfare speak of the left has intensified and emboldened those looking for permission and justification to prey on other people’s property. We lock our front door at night once we are all home and sleeping. It is the first time in 30 years I have felt the need to do so.

Thinking the same thing. A friend was telling us to bundle phone and internet with our Comcast cable to save money. Clark Howard seems to say no, but I'd like to hear what the p.com family thinks... as in how is your service, and how smooth was the transition.

I kept running computer scans because I thought I picked up a virus. I removed programs I had added in the past 30 days and unsubscribed to any new companies I had added to my email to view Black Friday sales and Coupon sites. DH erased all cookies and history a few days ago because the computer was acting weird- not connecting and telling us there were errors!!!! I could not access p.com, and many of my regular sites. A few sites opened in “safe mode,” but my e-mail worked quickly and just like before? Ugggggghhhh ... and it's AT&T that is the problem. I told D

My friend was telling me she loved the stuffing she grew up with, but unfortunately her mom had passed 3 years prior and she said, "I will probably never know." She is the youngest of 4 kids. We were with her eldest sister and I told her sister that she wished she had her mom's recipe. He sister laughed and said mom used Pepperidge Farm out of the box!!!

If you "could" care LESS then you DO care, right?! Grrrr...

You are not aloud to do something ... that would be noisy You are allowed to do something. “Aloud” means “out loud” and refers to sounds (most often speech) that can be heard by others. But this word is often misused when people mean “allowed,” meaning “permitted.” http://public.wsu.edu/~brians/errors/aloud.html -
For some reason the plants are confused... I have iris blooming and also azaleas. I think after this long hot summer they were so happy to finally be cool, they bloomed out of joy! Wait till the freeze gets them tonight.

I agree ...snow is much prettier then dead old brown burmuda! At least driving down the roads right now are lovely with the bright reds and yellows. I dread ugly winter... just as much as I hate the hot summer. 70 degrees is the right temp.

Barry's kids...as Joe Biden would say, "God love 'em." Redistribute baby.

I will miss his laugh and gentle personality. Walt was a truly good and honorable man. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him. He was out riding his bike on the Silver Comet Trail with friends on his birthday and suffered a heart attack that took his life. Please pray for his wife and family, this is such a shock.

Occupy Wallstreet chef's refuse to feed
Gone replied to dumbestgirlintheworld's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Do you think the chefs will vote conservative in 2012? Isn't the conservative "selfish" motto... "Why should I work hard and have my money given to those who do nothing?" I think the chefs just felt the bitter sting of ungratefulness from Barry's entitlement kids!!!! Maybe next the chefs will ask them to take a drug test before getting the free rice!!! -
It did not make any sense... it was enjoyable to watch Chynna and Kristin ...verses the other painfully untalented who have remained much longer than necessary.

Glad to hear! (I think it usually happens within 24 hours when you have a reaction to the shot.) That's what I'm hoping this year...I think I'm going to get one since it has been almost 10 years since I had the flu ... I'm probably due to come down with it otherwise!
-
I used to get the shot, then one year they were short, so I did not. After that the following years it seemed that many who got the shot reported getting the flu even after they had the shot (poor match of virus I guess.) So I had wavered on getting one if it was not a match to the one that was going around. Last year it seemed that those who got the shot got sick right after the shot. I've been listening this year and so far a friend who got the shot was fine, the friend she went with got sick the next day with a mild flu like bug... not sure exactly how long it lasted, but i

Of course he is... No other problems in America. Let's get the government to mess up yet another thing. Is there any question why the U.S. is in such a sad state? People have Halloween PARTIES ... it's not just about the one day of Trick or Treating ... this guy's a wing nut.
