  1. If you never signed a contract - because you were with Davis - my understanding is they have no grounds for a cancellation fee. I got my bill also. Will this never end?????!!!!No cancellation fee -took care of that on the phone last week. However, they want me to pay 12.88 for the month of August. My last May bill they tried to bill me for three months 6/1/11 - 8/31/11. I had paid Davis for 6 months in January...so I still had $25.97 left on the account in May - for June and July. May 15th they wanted 12.88 for August. That is why I cancelled July 27th with them.
  2. Again, bad business model. Why purchase a company only to give such horrible service that the “customers” you “bought” FIRE YOU?
  3. Oooooh ...the little Wal-mart great value vanilla yogurt cups (they come 4 stuck together) with fresh blueberries, or granola! I like the plane greek yogurt with some vanilla mixed in, and fresh fruit on top too!
  4. Someone e-mailed this to me... love this kid! Just as funny the second time!
  5. Homemade pinto beans mashed up like refried beans- without oil or frying them. Topped with Havarti Cheese eaten with on the boarder tortilla chips. Yumm
  6. One of my neighbors signed up with them. I haven't spoken to them to see how it is working. Good to know you are happy! Yeah I thought the bonus was you don't have to "REMEMBER" to take the can to the curb! I have a short flat drive... I bet I would sign up if I had to go up hill with it!!!!
  7. I hope your transition goes well. I don't know why they would continue to purchase another company only to give such horrible service they lose the customers that they bought that company for? Bad business model.
  8. Our son was the same way. He has this great dry sense of humor. Early on (4th grade) his friends noticed the difference on days he forgot to take his pill... he was a lot more "fun." I think he was just more distracted commenting on irony in the classroom and about people ... making jokes... Not exactly the best strategy to learn the lessons of the day! But he felt his friends had more fun with him when he was off the meds. He had more fun because he stayed distracted! He negotiated to reduce meds to only important test days in 8th grade – with the understanding he neede
  9. Good post. Isn't it nice to see his success?

    Paracord?

Oh... yeah… my kid took me there too -two weeks ago - NO AIRCONDITIONONG! It was sooo miserable, but they have A LOT of COOL STUFF! It is double the size of the Army Navy Discount Center but the prices of what my son had his eyes on were more expensive there, AND the Army Navy Discount Center is nice and air conditioned! I don’t remember looking at Paracord, but I am sure they would have it too. I would wait to go there until after it cools down outside. It is just up the street and around the corner from the Army Navy Discount Center.
  11. Just horrifying. All the families who will be profoundly changed. Then I can't help but look at all that expertise and experience our country lost as well. These guys were the best of the best I am sure. We have been praying for the families.

    Paracord?

What is Hodges and where is it located?

    Paracord?

Not close. Off HWY 41. Army Navy Discount Center, 1214 Hayes Industrial Drive. It is sort of a surplus, camping, and hunting store with knives, boots, clothes, and equipment that are military and law enforcement friendly. My kids frequent this place monthly to buy Paracord and other "cool" stuff. Paracord is to your left just pass the entrance into the store. Colors vary. They must sell a lot because I have been surprised how just a few days later all the stuff we looked at was gone and all new colors are there. We are finishing up driving with my son who has his learne
  14. American came and picked up the Davis can! Lacy did they get yours too?
  15. It is odd how chemicals process opposite in their bodies. My ADD child that sits still and quite… who just like your daughter notices EVERYTHING… was given an ADD medicine that was basically speed (can’t remember the name) but it put my son to sleep! We were trying to find the right medicine for him. We had just left the nurologists. I remember had taken one pill, he sat in the back seat of my car with his eyes closed smiling … he looked stoned. He could not open his eyes and he kept falling asleep smiling! That was the only pill of that drug he ever took! My older one tha
  16. A counselor told me in our past history a child that was not suited to the school room would instead work on the farm, help run the family store, basically work in a go go go environment as an apprentice. Then we changed expectations of society so all children must sit in a classroom. In our society now, all children need an education ... it sure is hard on those that have too much energy. I have one hyperactive - never used meds. I wish now that I had. Lots of redirecting, going to the classroom daily to keep him current with work, rewards charts… you name it we did it. I
  17. When they bring that up after you tell them you are cancelling, be firm. Tell them that you did not chose them - your company was purchased, you have received poor service. Let them know that you never signed any contract with them so you are not paying any money to them to cancel... then change the subject by telling the service rep to schedule a pickup of the Davis can. I made sure they owed me no money... others said they never refunded money when they cancelled service ...timing is important, be ready to start with a new company when you use up the weeks you have paid for. You can
  18. I change the channel when this one, the midget short on cash, the giraffe, and the fish come on... no reason to suffer through a horribly produced commercial.
  19. Good to know! How much and are they local? Fire 911 needs some guidence!
  20. So here it is- so far: Waste Industries is out of NC but has a local office here I think… they have made a new commitment to Paulding and recycling. Some like them better than others they have used. P.com special 9.99 a month, year contract, pay up front for three months. American Disposal Services is out of VA… you call to a service center in VA. They want you to pay them $20.00 if you cancel, even if they are not giving you service … some like them better than others they have used. I was paying 12.95 a month, however that was my old price from Davis so it may be more, may be le
  21. I read it will open December ... so I think they can start to build now since they did the ground breaking ceremony. My husband said he wished RoadTown Enterprises of Los Angeles, California had a little skin in the game - invested some of their own money... that way it would press them to make sure it moves forward and that they are truly committed. They claim it is a partnership ... but I think it is shaky we tax payers are on the hook for all the financial building of the studio? However the numbers look good in that there were over 300 productions, around 800 million dollars brou
  22. I was told American would pick mine up the 11th also. Crossing my fingers cause I have three cans right now. The Davis can is a newer can, but it does not even have the American logo on it. That has me worried they may not bother to pick it up. That's what happened with my Sanitec can from 1998 that I still have!
  23. That is a great service! Before we moved to GA our city had the trash service and recycling... but you had three bins and you had to sort glass, tin, and plastic in one bin; aluminum in another; and news paper in a third. AND they only took certain plastics 1 and 5 I think. Now when I go to mom's house they just have one big blue bin and you dump it in. I think recycling centers have better sort machines now. Of course we drive ours to the Paulding Recycling and Transfer station ever two months or so and they have the Jail crew working... and I gotta say they do a great job a
