  1. Yeah, I know you cheered the kid that hit Dis jr. when he deserved it (probably hoping Dis Jr. will get the hint to stop!) ... However, the sad thing is Dis Jr. is in danger of having fewer friends/or people who will include him in activities ...and that is a lonely place to be. I hope your family will find what works for Dis Jr. ... I know you are trying! And yeah, I feel like the school should have an alternative punishment for the other kids if the aggressor is not “serving time” too?
  2. Oh... my bad ...I thought you all knew the previous owner of SVB! I didn't look at the photo too well!
  3. Don’t you mean call the bank... if it is bank owned now? It might be quite a deal now!
  4. It could be our society, drug use of parents while pregnant, too much on TV that young kids don't need to see, aggression in their lives … so they are aggressive, lack of consistent parenting skills, permissive parents, parents that want to be friends instead of boundary setters? I don't know - pick one. I know my kids told stories of the kids that had some sort of defiant/anger issue... the teachers and schools could do nothing. The kids, who the out of control kid went haywire on, got ISS for protecting themselves and the haywire kid got nothing...so everyone learned to avoid sa
  5. I think they used to institutionalize kids who did not fit the "norm." They would not have been in a public school.
  6. A few years ago I was told by a Para-pro, who worked in a kindergarten class, that there was a child that was so out of control it was scary. She and the teacher removed scissors, and any other things that could hurt the other children, because this child went after others with whatever “weapons” they could get their hands on if not monitored every minute. While they waited to get the kid evaluated, the district came in and trained both the teacher and Para-pro to “hold” the child, until the child calmed down or administration could get into the class. The Para -pro was
  7. ^ You said it! Just thinkin’hard encapsulated the despair in one sentence! I will suggest, like so many others, West Ridge Church has a Tuesday night grief share group that has helped many. West Ridge You do not need to decide what to do with her ashes right now. That is the interesting part about cremation. You can just keep them until you decide where to place them or sprinkle them. Praying for comfort for you.
  8. Leave and tell "her son" he has to talk with "his mother."

  10. Wow…just WOW! This chick is an idiot! On paper she had it all… now it’s all gone! <snip> Dorrell, from Aledo, Texas, is only one of 13 members of Arkansas volleyball's 1,000-kill club and is seventh on the school’s all-time list with 1,310. She has an undergraduate degree from the school in finance and marketing and a master’s in business administration. Dorrell also is engaged to be married in June to another Arkansas athletics department employee—Josh Morgan—who is the strength and conditioning coach for Arkansas’ swimming and diving team. Here it comes!

    That's beautiful!
  12. I see her side ... you do it for spouse’s family but not for your own mom. ... She is adapting to what works ...being "pig headed." Could be. To some people "the date" is more important that being together and enjoying time together. We used to spend Christmas with DH family... then my family (who celebrated without us on the 25th of December,) would get everyone together again... parents, uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and great aunts, around the 7th of January and celebrate "Serbian Christmas" so we could all be together- (cousins father is Yugoslavian/Serbian)..
  13. Hospitality Industry The hospitality industry consists of broad category of fields within the service industry that includes lodging, restaurants, event planning, theme parks, transportation, cruise line, and additional fields within the tourism industry. The hospitality industry is a several billion dollar industry that mostly depends on the availability of leisure time and disposable income. A hospitality unit such as a restaurant, hotel, or even an amusement park consists of multiple groups such as facility maintenance, direct operations (servers, housekeepers, porters, kitch
  14. Yep... With the civil war sites we have here in our area, the grounds could market to that segment of travelers too!
  15. Wow, I've never heard any of this. My former employer, of 10 years, United Airlines had horrible problems with the automated bag sort system there. It was a huge joke – the delays, more delays, the extent of incompetence of the design of the bag sort system. I've been through there quite a lot since it opened and never noticed any murals. Here is the weird part though I was reading the comments at the end of LPPT's article...and see this one: "Check out the Google earth view of the airport itself. What do you think it looks like?" I never thought to look at the airpor
  16. This sounds like the best option. We purchased a box of the Vitamin C fizzy drink packets that help you fight off colds... the packet's contents were often solid instead of the powder they should have been. It was a HUGE box that I bought at a warehouse store. Hubby called the company to see if it was even safe to drink. They said yes it was safe; however they had a problem with the packaging which let moisture from the outside air in. They sent a check to reimburse our money, a coupon for a future purchase, along with an apology. Of course the coupon was not redeem

You are soooo right! My understanding is the kids had been at a "party" prior to their early morning escapades. This is tragic for the students, their family, our community, and our society. As many have said it will take a lot to overcome what their record will show. This was a life altering decision they made.
  18. Do you have neighbors with a basement? We have had some good times hanging out with the neighbors who needed a basement to be safe in. We always called the neighbors across the street, who were on a cement slab, when there was anticipated bad weather. We said come on over...the front door will be unlocked anytime you feel it's time, join us. It is harder when it is the middle of the night. Often it is so loud, and we see their lights, so we call or go over and offer before the warning starts. Remember there is always "A watch before the war." The weather service will have
  19. We went to a neighbors wedding at the Whitlock Inn and it was Beautiful!!! I have loved that place ever since. I do not know about the Stanley House Inn ...are they about the same size?
  20. I think the best part of the story (wink wink) is that Gleick had been elected in November 2011 as chairman of the American Geophysical Union's task force - on scientific ethics and integrity It looks like "Mr. Ethics" Gleick also penned a "fake document… "confidential strategy memo" Just another "ends justify the means" global warmest. Lying, stealing and maybe forging, just another day in the global warmist campaign to persuade you <snip> “The real story in this Fakegate scandal is how the global warming movement is desperate, delusional and collapsin

  22. In other states they carry all alcohol, and there are special purchase deals that are on high quality labels. When we travel to our home state we import from Trader Joe's. Much larger stores than the Marietta store Trader Joe's has nice soap and shampoo also. We would so much prefer Trader Joe's to Aldi... however, if Aldi has cheap milk it may help the budget out. It seems like that is the one thing I have seen advertised that was much less than other stores.
  23. I think Trader Joe's and Aldi are on two different ends of the spectrum. Verrry different stores! Trader Joes has more organic (health conscious) selections as well as a sort of gourmet feel. They advertise: The finest quality, natural ingredients. This means: NO artificial flavors, colors or preservatives NO genetically modified ingredients NO MSG NO added Trans Fats The frozen foods they have are perfect for dinner for one person or two. It is often hard to cook just for one, but their entries have such variety. It does not seem like eating a "frozen dinner" and yo
  24. Careful if you have colon problems food safety is not so guaranteed there. My brother and SIL went to Bangkok last April... then they went to Cambodia...BAD idea - SIL got a terrible parasite, and a horrible gastroenteritis illness! She spent the night at ICU ward at International Hospital in Siem Reap, Cambodia then when they got back home she was in and out of the hospital emergency room 4 different times each time she was kept 2 to 4 days! HOWEVER, she did text to say “Angkor Wat in Cambodia was the most AMAZING experience, however, I could have done without the Hospital stay!”
