  2. This is how Judges generally operate. When a motion is submitted or argued, the parties are generally asked to submit "Proposed" Orders for the Judge. Some courts require that they be submitted at the time the motion is filed and others require it at the Judge's discretion. He will generally choose the order from the side he is going to rule in favor of and will edit the order from there. However, giving the parties a deadline to submit a proposed order does not mean that the Judge's decision will be immediately forthcoming. It could still be weeks (or months) before he rules.
  3. Absolutely - now when hubby wants to go wander around Academy, he can just drop me off at Hobby Lobby!
  4. I'm sure there are folks who would try to use the argument that since he's a taxpayer, he's entitled to do just that... The guy was wrong and he's being punished. End of story.
  5. Here is a link to a search tool - type in the city and zip code, check the box for accepting new patients, and it will give you a list: https://www.mmis.georgia.gov/portal/PubAccess.Member%20Information/Find%20a%20Provider/tabId/49/Default.aspx
  6. I avoid getting prescriptions filled at that CVS. At one point, they linked my prescription information to another customer. That customer had no discount and was able to purchase their meds at my co-pay rate for several months. I didn't realize it until my insurance company sent me information on how to get "my" meds significantly cheaper by using Express Scripts online. It took months to get it straightened out with CVS.
  7. Hopefully, they will do something soon. It will have to be an organized event and to keep it from lasting several hours, they will likely have to impose speaking limits or time limits. I do have to honestly admit that I would love to see the airport expand into something useful in this community. But, folks working together and willing to make compromises (possibly on both sides) will be the key to making it a successful venture for Paulding.
  8. But, I have my doubts that it would have remained that way if Austin were there. And, from my view after 20+ years of working with large corporations, some of the best deals have come about from a few meetings that were held off the radar. In this situation, I don't know how "secret" these meetings were or if they were just overlooked by the public. Other folks know the answer to that, I just haven't really focused on whether they have or not. The gist is that until both sides WANT to work together, it's not going to happen.
  9. Without regard to whether I agree or disagree with the airport, I'm quite pleased that our Commission Chairman had the good sense to see that he was being invited to a lynching (whether formally or informally) and chose not to attend. Nothing good ever comes from hostile one-sided meetings (regardless of which side you are on). I want to say that until folks on both sides of the argument sit down and discuss this like adults, it will never be resolved. But, I have a feeling that regardless of what happens at the airport, there will be a group of citizens very unhappy with the outcome.
  10. I didn't read all of the posts, but let me share this. My hubby's parents are divorced. His dad remarried. This happened about 25 years ago. MIL and FIL still don't like to tolerate each other. Now, their grandchildren are paying the price for their childish behavior because if the kids can't spend an equal amount of time with each grandparent separately, the kids hear about it, ad nauseum. It makes it not worth spending time with any of them at times. So, while it hurts, my simple advice is this - suck it up and smile. If you decide not to, know that your kid will be forced to do wh
  11. You know, I give my money and time to organizations because I believe it is the right thing to do. I leave the qualifications to get those donations up to the organizations that are giving them out. If folks that drive an expensive care need to go get free food, then God bless them - I hope they have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
  12. My favorite way to cook turkey. Early on Thanksgiving morning, wake up the hubby and say, "honey, we're eating at 1:00, don't forget to put the turkey in the oven!" Just before lunchtime, the turkey is done. It's an easy recipe and always turns out fabulous!
  13. I was just thinking about this today - I need to stop by tomorrow and pick some up!!
  14. I can't recall the name, but the apartments behind Wendy's and the old Arby's in Dallas offer subsidies for those receiving government assistance.
  15. Honestly, in this case, I'm not surprised that the stadium settled. They do have some liability if they did not enforce the entry rules set by the license agreement (and there appears to be credible evidence that supports this assertion). If you put that in front of a jury, you are looking at the possibility of a multi-million dollar judgment. By settling, they likely paid substantially less than that.
  16. LifeSmiles of New Hope - they're fabulous (and very economical).
  17. We went there for Thanksgiving a few years ago. They put apples in their dressing, bleck!! And honestly, maybe we have just eaten out there too many times, but lately, I have not been very impressed with their food. Even the cakes have been dry.
  18. This is most likely the reason why the Stadium settled: Read more: http://www.wcvb.com/news/investigative/New-evidence-released-in-underage-Gillete-Stadium-drinking-case/-/12520878/19551674/-/tw6lts/-/index.html#ixzz2jncFpd8Z
  19. O.C.G.A. 16-5-1 does NOT say that murder does not include children. There are no age provisions. Here is the law:
  20. I love Thai food - I will have to try this out.
  21. Paulding has some information available online, but it may be through an attorney login/password - I don't recall, it's been awhile since I used it. Let me look for the link or PM me the info and I will see what I can dig up.
  22. Why is it that I suddenly realize that if two or more Commissioners agree on something in this county, someone is going to call it cronyism and good ole boy politics.... sigh....
  23. Piedmont has never been an issue for me, but I know that WellStar does not like to refer outside of the WellStar network. I found this out twice. First, when I wanted to go to a different orthopaedist than the one my PCP wanted me to see (I wanted to see one in the Piedmont group because it is very convenient to my office and also within my plan). My PCP's office told me that they are told not to refer outside of WellStar unless there is not WellStar option or unless patient insists. I insisted. Then, I also had to insist that my dad's PCP refer him to an Emory neurosurgeon when he had spi
  24. We started out across the street, but they were only picking on the right side of the road on Friday. It was busy, but not overly crowded so we had a great time!!
