Am I the only one that thinks this is the wrong topic to start an argument in? Especially with all the talk about guns..... Just tryin to lighten the mood....

Lake Lanier Islands does a big Christmas display every year (similar to Callaway Gardens). Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg is fun, but is VERY VERY crowded.

Anyone having issues with e-mail through local phone company?

I'm not happy with my BellSouth email right now either. We're looking at switching. Only downside is that we have to change email addresses. -
So who has their Thanksgiving dinner planned out?
LisaC replied to Lady Raider's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Haven't even thought about Thanksgiving - I just decided what I'm taking to our n'hood Halloween party on Saturday night.. -
We bought the Canon 40D last year and LOVE LOVE LOVE it. I know two other people that use the same camera (one is a professional photographer) and they also love it. It's easy to use and it takes great pictures.

Great post!! I'm with you. We're not all going to agree on everything, but we're adults, and some people need to learn how to RESPECTFULLY disagree with others. Disagreeing doesn't make you a bad person, that happens when people start all of the personal attacks and insulting each other. And, when you disagree with someone, just remember my motto... (see below)

That's why I'm glad I ordered ours this summer, but this is the first year that I've ever done that. I usually wait until they have an online sale in early November and order them then. But, the first year I ordered them, I think I paid full price (and still wanted to order from them the next year - I was that impressed with the quality). Check with Ritz Camera and see what they have online. I despise going to the at Arbor Place Mall, but they have a location on Highway 5 in Douglasville that is pretty helpful. Also, check out places like Office Depot and Staples, they have some hol

Check out Exposures.com, you get really nice, high quality cards. The price is definitely more than what you will pay at Target, Wal-Mart, etc., but if you want personalized cards, you really can't beat their price. ETA: The correct web address is www.exposuresonline.com Sorry about that!!

We order ours online from Exposures.com www.exposuresonline.com and have never been disappointed. In fact, they had a fantastic sale this summer so I've already gotten our cards for this year.

Maggiano's - Cumberland Mall and Buckhead, my absolute favorite and worth the drive. Sam and Roscoe's in Douglasville used to be very good, but we haven't been there in over a year. Paisano's and Provino's are good (but Maggiano's is better).

I'm not offended, I've never been in there - just driven past it as I was leaving Kohl's.

Now the shopping juices are flowing.... also try Burlington Coat Factory in Austell - it's hit or miss, but they have some junior plus size designer clothes for great prices. Sometimes they have a lot, sometimes just a few racks of things. And, there was a plus size store in the Kohl's shopping center on the East/West Connector (I think it's Catherines). I haven't been over there in awhile, but hopefully it's still there. I've never been in there, but if you're going to Burlington, it might be worth checking out.

I completely forgot about Torrid at Town Center Mall -- definitely give them a try, they always have really cute things.

My dilemna is this - I hate the actual commute, but I love my job. I have great bosses that I truly respect and work with a great team (and, quite frankly, I'm spoiled here). So, not only would I have to take a huge paycut if I found a job in Paulding, but I would risk working for someone I didn't like or respect as well. It's just not worth giving up right now.

Macy's has some junior plus sizes. Old Navy online has plus sizes too.

We had Sirius for about a year -- didn't like it because there were too many spots where reception was bad, especially when traveling between Georgia/Florida and Georgia/South Carolina.

So what over the counter med is everyone taking?

During my recent stint with pneumonia/flu, lung specialist told me to take Mucinex, but to take the Expectorant, not the decongestant/cough supressant (DM). With chest congestion, you NEED to cough to get that stuff out of your chest. My doctor also prescribed Tamiflu -- that stuff was awesome. Got the prescription on Wednesday, started in Thursday morning, and felt MUCH MUCH better by Friday afternoon. -
Fortified Hills Baptist Church has a food ministry every Thursday night at 6:00 p.m. Unfortunately, they don't have any diapers in right now.

Until I retire or win the lottery, this probably won't happen for me. The salary difference between Atlanta and Hiram and Dallas are huge - I would have to take about a 50% paycut (possibly more) if I were to work in Paulding. On the bright side, if you stop working in Atlanta, that's one less car on the road during my commute!! Lots of luck to you!!

Things aren't always as rosy as they seem. We have a London office - the "government" controlled child care option is awful so a lot of companies offer private centers for employees or, in the case of executives, subsidize the cost of a nanny to care for the children. And, under the "socialized" system, firing a worthless employee practically takes a government mandate -- if you have a lousy employee, you basically have to continue to pay their salary for several months (or as much as a year) in order to terminate them.

Employers are not required to give employees paid leave, but a lot of them do. I was fortunate, when I had the princess, I had 12 weeks of paid leave. The FMLA requires employers to give 12 weeks of leave (paid or unpaid or a combination of both) per year -- that can either be per calendar year or in a rolling 12 month period - at the employer's discretion. An employer can also require that you exhaust all accrued paid leaves available during this FMLA leave and they can stop your accrual of additional vacation/sick leave until you return from your leave. The newest benefit be
