  1. Not at all. Every child has their limits. If we've been out shopping all day and she hasn't had her nap, then I'm pushing my luck and I know better. Everyone has seen a child having a meltdown in the middle of a store because they're tired, don't feel well, hungry, etc. while the parents are too focused on getting their shopping done and not on the child -- it's not pretty and I do whatever I can to avoid it when I know that it's because I've pushed her too far. Now, if she's had her nap and she's just seeing what she can get away with -- that's a different story. That requires an a
  2. Then that's the parents fault -- if you don't teach your children consequences at an early age, then you're going to have to deal with this. Every once in awhile the princess will get a little mischevious glint in her eye that warns me that she's about to see how far she can push something. But, as soon as I tell her what will happen if she misbehaves, she usually decides that it's not worth trying. But, when she does, she suffers the consequences.....
  3. You're more lenient that I -- I tell the princess ONCE that if she doesn't stop, we're going to the bathroom. If she does it again, we go to the bathroom. I feel like if I keep telling her "one more time," she's going to keep pushing to see how far she can go. But, if we've been out running errands all afternoon and I know she's tired -- I just stop. Seriously, even if I'm not done shopping, I just go immediately to the checkout and get out of there as quickly as I can. Or, if we're at the mall, I've been known to just put everything down and leave the store. 99% of the time, the princes
  4. Exactly, when the princess has her harness/leash on, I'm still holding her hand -- the harness is there in case she breaks away. That's essential if you're in a crowd, walking on a sidewalk, or anywhere where a child can get seriously injured if they run away from you. We used it while we were walking around in downtown Charleston last month -- the princess loved the freedom of walking around "like a big girl," and I didn't have to worry about her walking in front of a car or disappearing in a crowd. And, when she's in the stroller or in the car, she plays with the little plush puppy dog on
  5. Guess I should leave the leash at home the next time and the princess and I go out... Nah, the princess loves wearing her harness, but she also knows what the consequences are for misbehaving in public (and if she forgets, a quick trip to the bathroom refreshes her memory). The harness comes in handy when we're just running quick errands or when she just wants to walk instead of riding in a buggy. I hold her hand and have the leash on my wrist in case she sees something and pulls away before I realize it. I don't lead her around like a dog on a leash, the harness is just to keep her f
  6. The Varsity - I'm not cooking tonight.
  7. Publix does give you the small cake for free when you purchase a first birthday cake. And, they have some really cute cake designs for the "big" cake.
  8. Rode through the neighborhood this morning on my way to work -- no kids out and about, and didn't see any while we were sitting outside last night. We're keeping our eyes open - I hope you hear from him soon!!
  9. No, this is the place in the Kroger shopping center on Ridge Rd.
  10. Not sure I will ever eat there (regardless of the name). My neighbors walked out of Birdie's when a roach crawled across their table (just as they were getting ready to order). When the waitress saw it, she simply asked if they wanted to move to another table....
  11. I'm happy to hear that she was found and is safe. I think at this point, we just need to keep this family in our thoughts and prayers and let them have some space. P.S. This just proves that there are NO secrets in this county.... No where to run, no where to hide.... :-)
  12. Not crazy -- you would be amazed at the companies (and law firms) that do this for applicants. Also, your current employer may also be checking to see what you're posting online (including on sites like p.com). And, it's perfectly legal -- the information is in the public domain.
  13. Old? This is all child's play -- I still remember my Mrs. Beasley doll that I had to have and begging my parents for a denim pantsuit (with the flared legs) because all the other kids were wearing them....
  14. See if it has a volume control -- if it does, turn it down a little while he's not in his office.
  15. Please read the article -- they are sending these people to live with family members in other states. At least is sounds like New York is actively doing something to get these people off of the streets. I think it's a great idea!
  16. I'm definitely taking advantage of it, especially now that I just got an email from Coach with a 20% off coupon that can be used at their Factory Stores!!
  17. Yes - this may sound awful, but check with the Bank about your access after her death. If they treat being a co-signer as being similar to having a power of attorney, then your rights to access it end when she passes away. After that, the executor of the estate will be the only person that can access it (and possibly only after he is appointed as a Personal Representative of the Estate by the Probate Court).
  18. We found a great set at RoomsToGo a couple of years ago. Woodstock Outlet has some great furniture too.
  19. You can call her doctor and get a prescription for one - Medicare will cover the cost of a walker if her doctor will write the prescription. Also, it's a good idea to make sure someone fits it to her (so that it's not too low, high, etc) to make it easier for her to use.
  20. Thanks - I'll definitely check them out. The 3+ is what I run into a lot. Thanks for the preschool suggestion, but since the princess comes into midtown with me for daycare everyday, it's just not an option. Thanks!
  21. Nalley Lexus on Cobb Parkway -- they were awesome!!
  22. Check with Armada Vans and Enterprise - both rent passenger vans.
  23. Live without money, probably not. But living without debt is a goal of mine.
  24. I voted no, but the more I think about it, I don't really care either way. When I open p.com, I almost always click on "view new posts" so I see them anyway (since I already have them turned on).
