  1. If you *know* he could do better, stick with the punishment. My parents didn't, and I wish they had. In high school I started slipping and went from a 4.0 student to not even qualifying for HOPE within a matter of a semester and a half.
  2. I would have to admit, Mary is GREAT when it comes to customer service. I agree with Chick-Fil-A!
  3. You gonna stay on p.com when you move? I visit several times a year. I was just there again in February, will definitely be there again in July, and we're *hoping* for an October visit. Some of the houses there are going insanely cheap...especially if you like home improvement projects. The rent even in historic district isn't that bad. We found a three story townhouse on Jones - gorgeous place - for right around $1100 a month. Considering I can walk everywhere I need from there and a house payment on the same street would be about $500 more...that's pretty awesome.
  4. It was Central Deck, off of Frey Rd. It's the new 9 story deck that opened last Summer. It was definitely a Freshman woman, although 'freshman' doesn' t necessarily mean an 18-19 year old. KSU has many first time students my age and even middle-aged. Poor family. Central Deck
  5. I don't even care about the beach, although it is nice. I just want to make it to grad school at SCAD without being stuck here. Being 'stuck' in my favorite creativity-inspiring city while finish my grad work in Art will be a super plus.
  6. This is the exact reason why OH and I refuse to buy a house, and people keep asking us why we're renting if we're getting married and settling down. When I finish my degree, we're moving to Savannah. I've wanted to move to Savannah since I was a kid, and the last thing I want is to be stuck in a house and not able to move. Rather just 'waste' money on rent for the next two years.
  7. Mine is in a booster with a seatbelt...but she's huge. She meets the weight requirements for the high-back boosters with the 5-point harness, but we sat her in a few and her head hits the top in a way that was just uncomfortable for her. She absolutely hated them. So...booster it was. My then best-friend now-fiance is a trained car-seat tech (just a part of his paramedic training), and I had him go car seat shopping with me before I would settle on anything.
  8. Oh, silly, that was before the ADHD epidemic took over and every other child has to be medicated for one thing or another.
  9. Check VRBO.com for rentals. The OH and I stayed at an incredibly cute house within walking distance of just about everything in Savannah and paid right around $450 for 5 nights. You can find some really awesome places and very good deals on there, you just have to look through them all. We wound up with too many to choose from and just picked ours because it had a claw foot tub.
  10. I always get some mix of Gloria Estafan, Grace Kelly, Greta Garbo, Katharine Hepburn, Kristin Davis, and Linda Carter. Sometimes they'll throw Kirsten Dunst in there for good measure, and that always makes me giggle.
  11. I have nooo idea. How do you do/check that?
  12. I have an HP Officejet 5610 All-In-One printer, and between Slumber Parties and college I wind up buying both color and black ink at least once a month. Anybody know where I can get ink cheaper than Wal-Mart? It seems to be the cheapest retail place, so I'm thinking maybe online? TIA!
  13. Oops. It's fixed. I keep forgetting to PM Pubby about my membership and tiny inbox.
  14. You're awesome! Are sweet potatoes better with brown sugar?
  15. It's supposed to taste like that. I DO eat donuts. Krispy Kreme donuts, specifically.
  16. Soda makes me wired...which makes me get up and do stuff (like I actually sit down in the first place)...which makes me lose weight again. Doc told me to go home, sit on the couch, watch movies, and eat. 1) That's some backwards health advice from a doctor, isn't it? 2) She obviously doesn't know me very well. Unless I have work to do on the computer (like now), I don't sit.
  17. That would be awesome! Pasta and bread are a bonus, they're my favorite two things to eat. I'll have to make them for myself for lunch instead of dinner...they won't help OH lose weight, that's for sure.
  18. I got the 'Being underweight causes just as many complications as being overweight' and 'Being underweight causes heart problems, like yours' speeches. Doc threatened to put me on hospitalized bed rest if I didn't gain weight, then a couple of weeks later I wound up with the swine flu (while the other half was in ICU with the swine flu) and lost even more weight. Tie a string around me and call me a kite...windy Spring season is gonna blow me away at this point. I don't own a George Forman and can't grill on a real grill...I live n an apartment. Otherwise I'd just throw th
  19. I have the day off today (yay, furlough day!) and decided to stop in Burger's as I was passing it. Wound up buying all sorts of stuff I have no idea what to do with. Squash? Eggplant? Avocado? Sweet potatoes? Good news is, I have plenty of stuff to go with it because, after I left Burger's I decided to 'stop by' Ingles. Wound up with 27 flippin' packs of meat. And bags of white and brown rice...what does one do with white or brown rice? This was all prompted by a) My doctor demanding that I gain weight b ) The other half wanting to lose weight and c) My Fit for Living class doing a chap
  20. A 'cyber-affair' can be anything from an exchange of rated R emails to each other to an all-out emotional affair without the physical contact. Both suck.
  21. I've always said little bit would get one when she started working or staying at after-school functions, like dances or football games. After a year of her going to her dads and me not being able to get in touch with him/her because he was asleep, I'm looking to add her to the other half's plan with one of those four-button kid phones. Then she can get in touch with me, and I can call her instead of freaking out. She's only five. ~sigh~
  22. I hope you find the information that you're looking for. I would think, logically speaking, that unless it was a child-related crime it really wouldn't make much of a difference. The sex-offender wouldn't have contact with children simply because the bus is parked there before or after the route. My logic doesn't always flow with everybody else's, though, so you never know.
