That one's going around as 'Epic Beard Man'. I saw it a week or so ago and went People have now set it to soundtrack and made remixes out of it on youtube. -
Paulding Resident/Former Cobb PD Officer
lilgallowsmama replied to Mrs. Jack Russell's topic in RECENT TOPICS
My step-mom called and told me about Lance the morning he passed away. So, so sad. My dad has been with CCPD for almost 23 years and knew Lance well. Once you're in that long, everybody is like family. Some of the officers were planning on having a bonfire last Friday, but I didn't find out about it in time. -
 Funniest thing I've seen on here in a long time. Nope! Mystic, Georgia.

Pssst. Tweets are for twitter. On Facebook, they're 'Status Updates'. I have the same thing happen, repeatedly. I've been 'refriended' by the same friends several times and think 'What on earth? They were on my list already!'. I've 'unfriended' one person the whole time I've been on facebook - my stepmother.

My original MIL was...interesting to deal with. I loved her, to death, but there was a definite clash in personalities and lifestyles. I chalked it up to her being from the north and me being very, very southern. She thought I was rude the first time she met me because I walked in the room and said 'Hey ya'll!' instead of individually greeting everybody. I was just raised that way...and I was only 16 at the time. When her son screwed up and I was in tears over our ending marriage, she was right there on the phone listening to me, calming me down, and giving me the 'he's just like his father'

Young child hit by a car this evening on 120
lilgallowsmama replied to 1BADMARINE's topic in RECENT TOPICS
The hotel went into the movie theater parking lot. I was up there last night (amidst a gazillion teenagers and somebody who wanted to start a fight because they were talking about shopping during the movie and got the side-eye . Remind me not to do the theater again.), and I thought the same thing about the hotel. Then, I remembered that you have to be 18 to get a room in a hotel. Gonna cross my fingers and hope they ID all parties and not just the one paying. -
The fiance and I both had H1N1 last week - he wound up intubated in ICU at Kennestone for several days. As soon as my fever hit, I called Dr. Wehunt. He diagnosed me, gave me Tamiflu, told me to stay out of work (obviously), let him know if it worsened, or if I needed anything else and I let him know I'd call the office for a Dr's note when I returned to work. Called Monday, Tuesday, and this morning and got an answering service that only said 'They're swamped in the office and not taking calls - you have to go into the office'. Thank goodness I saw on facebook that he closed! After some serio

I'm feeling fine today. Well, fine for somebody who has the flu. Just tired and icky. 9 hours of sleep seemed to have helped - that's twice what I get on a normal night. Thanks! I will. As of right now, we have everything figured out. It really depends on how long he has to stay in the hospital as to what exactly I'll need. I've had a zillion people offer to help with my daughter, and somebody even came over at 6:30 this morning to jump my car. I really do have the most awesome friends.

No problem! Tis' my job - 8 to 5 (sometimes 6...or later...or if students call me at 1am...and weekends ).
-
Actually, nobody has been designated that job. However, I have his cell, my cell, and my home phone. All day long I've been hanging up one because the next is ringing. Between our mothers, friends, and coworkers, I think I've been on the phone non-stop since 9am. I'll double check with the wonderful friend that's keeping Nev and see if she'll check in on me. She's calling and giving me 'She's still fine' updates so I've been talking to her quite often, but if I even *think* I'm starting to get worse I'm heading to the ER. Chances are, I'll be a few floors up in ICU with him when it happens, a

I'm about to start speaking greek, so let me know if I need to explain anything further. Financially speaking, this is where you want to start: FAFSA For KSU, if you want to start in the Summer do the 09/10 with your 2008 tax return. If you want to start in the Fall, do the 10/11 with your new 2009 tax return. Never really hurts to do both, especially if you're looking at multiple schools. If you haven't picked a school, you can always do the FAFSA and send it to multiple schools instead of waiting. After completion, FAFSA will send you something called a SAR (Student Aid Report) w

Stubborn other-half woke up with a 103 fever and chills yesterday morning out of the middle of nowhere. He just sort of had a cold and come congestion going on for a couple of days before hand. I got home last night after class and, while he was awake and his eyes were open, he was completely unresponsive to anything I said or did. Went to Paulding by ambulance to be repeatedly tested...everything came back negative and clean. They finally sedated him because he was 'combative' and intubated him, sent him over to Kennestone ICU. He's been there since about 2 this morning. I started feeling bad

I don't post my paintings, just my drawings. I've been to Bonaventure a couple dozen times - those times were all, however, before I turned 16. It's funny trying to navigate a town where you're used to riding in the back seat. It took us forever to find anything last year. I knew of all the little nook and cranny places, but I couldn't remember which nook and crannies they were hiding in. I'm excited to go back as an adult. The other half has never been.

Nah. It's off of Canton Rd - Past the mall if you take Barrett Pkwy but I take back roads to get to Kenn./Marietta and it cuts alot of time off. It's about 10-15 minutes from my work.

Marietta, I think, is the closest one http://www.polewaxersuniversity.com/

OK Moms! Some things you didn't think of
lilgallowsmama replied to amanda_rip's topic in RECENT TOPICS
We forgot clothes and toiletries for him. He actually wasn't there the first night so it didn't matter, and the second few nights some of his friends came and hung out with him all night while I tried to sleep, so they brought him clothes. BUT, it would have been nice anyway. I also didn't think about flip flops...walking around hospitals in socks isn't exactly bright and my feet were too swollen to fit into my shoes. Hmmm...I can't think of anything else. Pillows? Hospital pillows suck. A blanket from home because hospital blankets aren't fantastic either. I WISH I had brought drink -
That was awesome.

I've never been to Lady and Son's either, but he's wanting to try it. I LOVE Mrs. Wilkes. The little one isn't going with us, so I think we may save the wildlife center as something cheap and fun to do the next go round. I was sad when they removed Bird Girl from Bonaventure and moved her, but I've seen her several times since. I'm crossing my fingers they don't wind up doing the same with Gracie. My first ever Savannah painting was of Gracie and I'm going back to paint her again next weekend.

Thanks! I've wanted it for awhile now and finally got it done. I'll admit...this one hurt. I mean, really hurt. I have 8 (or 9) tattoos and none of them hurt quite like this one did. With most of them, even the ones on my wrist and upper back, I just cringed a time or two in a couple of spots. The one on my back hurt, but not this bad. I swear I cursed the poor tattoo artist out yesterday. Healing today has been a bear. I barely felt him doing the music note and haven't noticed it at all today, but every time I move or bend over to pick something up, I scream 'Oooooooowwww!'. Les

I have no idea. Just blessed, I guess? I most definitely do NOT weigh only ninety pounds.

I don't have a student ID. Because I work at the school, they'll only issue and Employee ID. Mercer House was *not* on my list, for some reason, but I am a HUGE fan of 'The Book'. Club One is on the list for a 10:30 show, but the other half doesn't know it. This could be interesting. Lady Chablis' isn't back in town until the 20th, though. Have you been when it was just their regular show? Ice cream shop...are you talking about Leopolds? I went ALL the time when I was a kid, but we always walked around and ate so I don't remember the inside. I decided to opt out of the Pink House, but wi

I called and they're not doing any night tours while we're there, but she said she would email me if they put one together. It's also, apparently, Colonial Days at Wormsloe, which was already on my list but not for that reason so I guess that's an added bonus. Maybe with it being SCAD Days this weekend, they'll wind up with a night tour.

The other half and I are getting ready to spend 5 days in Savannah. I spent alot of time there with family as a child and teen, so I never did any of the touristy historic or ghost tours. The other half, however, has only been once for al of 24hrs. I keep finding very, very mixed reviews of the tours down there - does anybody know of a good one of either or both types? I'm taking him to Bonaventure, but I've never been on an official 'tour of'. My portfolio is due in a couple of months, so i want to spend some time there painting and figured it would be a good chance for him to see it. Fors

Ya know, it really is funny what you can achieve when you set goals for yourself. I promised myself that I would get a hot bubble bath and thirty minutes with a book if I finished all the laundry before bedtime...and the laundry was done by noon. You should! They work, I tell ya. Sometimes lesser 'nice' goals work, too. Last month my goal was to pay off a bill. It wasn't anything for me, but it got rid of a bit of stress...and it worked!
