  1. Dang I meant to try to catch that when I saw they were going to be on. They're really great folks and I wish them much success. And I wish they weren't so blessed far out of my normal range of operation...I'm gonna have to make a special trip down there one of these days.
  2. Gosh I hate to hear this. I went to church with Peggy years ago and she was such a sweet lady.
  3. Sometimes I wonder if WalMart doesn't overreach with that kind of thing...and I don't go to WalMart if it can be avoided, even if it costs a little more so I haven't really noticed but I'm going to go off topic here and ask if all stores have a multitude of cameras on the roof or is it just the one in Rockmart? Creeps me OUT.
  4. I don't want to see anyone's bare hands reaching into something I plan to eat -that would include yours as well - in fact I don't care to have people stand over me and prefer they stay respect my space when I'm eating or well, any other time really. Beyond that, though, you are being judgemental and unrightly so. The use of oxygen in and of itself doesn't make a person nasty, and what someone chooses to eat is no concern to you or me or anyone else. If oxygen is being prescribed to treat obesity, it's news to me. BTW we're talking about a YOGURT shop here, not a Krispy Kreme stor
  5. Hate to hear this. One helluva band.
  6. that one^^^ The outcome would have likely been the same had the other driver been perfectly sober. Happens every day. In 25 years I've never seen a variable accident surcharge on a personal auto policy. If the violation is a higher point charge than the accident, it could result in a larger premium increase - and there's often a damage threshold under which an accident is not chargeable but generally speaking I would say any surcharge applied will be the same no matter the condition of the other driver...
  7. My experience has been that you are better off with a newer, digitally capable TV. And a good outdoor antenna. Older tv + converter box was 1) frustrating and 2) futile. I finally bought a cheap 19" tv that didn't require the converter box, raised my antenna some and on really stormy days the picture freezes occasionally but overall I get very good reception for the few shows I care to watch... Those converter boxes are a cheap POS if you ask me.
  8. Thanks for the information...is this going to be necessary for every renewal going forward or just to get the 'secure' license issued? Nah. Most of our ills are caused by and exacerbated by computers and our desire to have them do just about everything for us. This is just an example of a government that wasn't intended to compile databases on its citizenry taking full advantage of people too smitten with technology to realize the downside of computerizing every-damn-thing under the sun.
  9. I realize that smokers are the most reviled bunch on the planet, but does anyone even consider the fact that the auto industry stopped equipping vehicles with ashtrays more than a few years ago (the only reason I've ever heard for this is because non-smokers didn't want them! now who complains about butts thrown out of cars???? non-smokers!)
  10. They might go through - seen it happen more than once.
  11. People receive different punishments for committing the same crimes every day. That's the reality of the justice system in this country. These are young adults who knew (or should have known) that what they did was wrong as well as a crime. Some years ago there was a similar "senior prank" involving the new auditorium at PCHS, and some or all of the students responsible were barred from graduation for their participation in the incident, as well. Few, if any of those who weighed in with an opinion on that incident expressed sympathy for those kids or the punishment they received.
  12. Some people have jobs - others are well-mannered. To each his/her own.
  13. If you don't have a landline phone, your cell number is generally the one you use when you are filling out darn near anything these days that asks for a phone number (which is usually * required ). ahahahahahahahahahaahahahahahahahaha tell that to the fools wasting our ink & paper on a daily basis. I would tell them myself but they won't identify themselves because they are fully aware they are violating the law. Sure, they put an opt-out number on the fax. Who knows what they do with your # when you call and enter it into their system? Does that establish the rel
  14. Why should you (or the kid who was killed) have to explain yourself at all? What the hell happened to the free country we claim to live in? He had as much right to be there as the shooter did. Someone is following me around on foot I'm not going stand around til they get close enough to harm me. That's just dumb.
  15. There is no 'dilution point' where someone can't claim to be black or white. If there were, what would they become? This is the "official' answer to your question about race: Ethnicity/Race Idemtification - incl definitions as far as the US is concerned.
  16. Yes she was. Before her health declined would do whatever she could to help wherever needed, too. Rest in peace Nanny.
  17. Such a sweet lady. I am sure she is greatly missed by her family.
  18. I think the biggest complaint is that they pay a lower rate on certain investment income than most do for income earned from their work. Nothing hypocritical about that. And before you come back with the argument that the money was taxed already I'd like to know what money HASN'T been taxed already as it passes from one person/entity to the next?
  19. nope probably some dry counties even today, but since the day I moved to my current home 23 years ago there has been a liquor store and a bar within walking distance (roughly 1/4 mile away). that's almost 2 dozen years right there.
  20. thumbs up for your decision to spay the dog seriously
  21. Seriously? Newt isn't even honest with himself. Add that to his overblown ego, lack of ethics and affinity for expensive shiny objects and you really believe he would be an improvement if elected? He's so full of himself he borders on delusional. Lately every single time I hear him on the news he's doing all he can to avoid answering whatever question has been asked of him. If necessary. God I hope not.
  22. I think the Piggly Wiggly is closed. Looked that way when I was in Villa Rica shortly before Christmas, anyway.
  23. Me too. My sleep/wake cycle has always been erratic - even when I was a baby. I honestly think it's at due (at least in part) to my daddy working 2nd & 3rd shift when I was very young, but I just like being awake when everyone else is asleep and everything is dark and quiet. It's sort of like having the world all to yourself for awhile... I guess I'm used to it, because other than some tiredness during the day it doesn't make me miserable to lose sleep most of the time the way it does some people.
