  1. The county marshal's office should be able to tell you whether there is any basis for a complaint. Good luck
  2. I imagine standard time year-round would be terrible for anyone who suffers from seasonal depression during the late fall and winter months.
  3. I love the long days in summer, but if it puts an end to darkness at 5:30 pm in December, I could probably learn to live with it.
  4. haha! It says I don't even have permission to view some of mine...
  5. According to Google, from sources that include the US Census Bureau: 1980 26,110 1990 42,028 2000 82,984 2010 142.824 2017 159.445 https://www.google.com/search?q=population+of+paulding+county+ga&rlz=1C1DKCZ_enUS782US783&oq=population+of+Paulding+&aqs=chrome.0.0j69i57j0l4.10215j1j8&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8 So no, I don't think we need to be luring people here with cash. Personally, I think growth is overstated; even though it does increase the tax base, it also requires more infrastructure and more services, overcrowds the schools and increases traffic, so the tradeoff sort of cancels out any benefit of an increased number of property owners. This was once a lovely little county, as was Cobb. Now...well, not sure what the draw is, really, since cheap housing is a thing of the past.
  6. It is not that she was dishonest; she was not able to provide sufficient evidence of the length of time she lived there, per the elections board.
  7. "What did this animal and others do to deserve this other than not being born human I can't imagine. It seems life is only precious when it is our own, suffering only counts when it is our own." That is my question as well. The only animal that is actively polluting the planet and causing harm to itself along with other species has also convinced itself it is superior and more worthy than the rest.
  8. So these emotional support animals are also covered by the ADA?
  9. Maybe a matter to be brought to the attention of the health department?
  10. "My question is would renting it out prevent the use of other activities in the building during church services" "burnt hickory park building cannot be used by the public on ANY SUNDAY" ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Also, the original post doesn't say there was a vote. It says there was NOT a vote. I took that point to mean it was a decision made without the public's (aka taxpayer's) knowledge. Renting out a school facility that is not used on the weekend is one thing, but to make a park facility unavailable for half the weekend when most private citizens (aka taxpayers) might wish to rent it for an event is another. Churches don't pay the taxes that build or maintain parks, and the government doesn't pay for anything. We do.
  11. Hmmm...maybe he will check in soon. Hopefully.
  12. These type pools/programs are also in place for automobile and worker's comp insurance, although specialty auto insurers have pretty much made insurance available at some price level in the voluntary market for all consumers.
  13. The first time I ever saw a skull (or model of one) that had both baby and adult teeth intact I was completely creeped out.
  14. Not long ago my niece was looking for someone who might want some of her kids' outgrown stuff and some baby items. Will keep this in mind! Thanks!
  15. Yeah, there is really not a reason for a baby or toddler to even interact with a dog until they are old enough to understand that it is not a plaything and can be hurt or agitated by the child's actions/behavior. A dog's prey drive can be easily aroused by a squealing, running child or a crying baby. And some dogs by nature simply do not do well with children, period. That this tragedy might have been avoided by the simple act of closing the bedroom door makes it that much more heartbreaking.
  16. Well I was all ready to buy this for myself but saw where some said it was less actual music than they had expected and more interviews and stuff so I changed my mind.
  17. So inquiring minds want to know, how are things with Little Miss Coco? Wonderful, I hope.
  18. I think we might have a much better government if people would stop trying to use it to control others or impose their agenda on everybody else. That's all I have to say about that.
  19. Dawww! She has settled right in! Mine paces, shakes, and her ears go up like a rabbit's when there are storms. She used to sit in the closet but now she gets under the bed. No doubt your dog could forecast at least as well as the local weather folks, sometimes I think they would do better to look out the window than at all those computer models...
  20. This is my problem with so many people carrying guns - there is a difference between getting your ass whipped and a threat that warrants pulling a gun in a public place and firing it. Not enough people have the sense to respond in an appropriate manner. So two lives have been upended over a disagreement, and it was damned fortunate nobody else was injured or killed. In my opinion, people like this are a bigger danger than the possibility of someone opening fire with the intent of taking out a lot of people wherever I happen to be. I can remember when there was a much higher threshold of danger required before it was acceptable to fire a gun at someone in 'self defense'...especially in public.
  21. Not the pit bull mix...lol. I had a stray pit mix come to live at my previous house in Braswell. For a breed that is reportedly akin to Satan himself, a good one is so easy to love. He wasn't around all the time, but when he did show up he was joyously happy to see me, which of course made me pretty happy too.
  22. She will be spoiled rotten before you know it...if she isn't already. She is adorable!
