  1. I love the Huddle House in Rockmart...Jada is the Bomb...!
  2. I don't particularly like the look of the firing pin on the Dan Wesson model, but it's never misfired, so it just looks different then others. I do like piddling around with old revolvers, and I prefer Colt or Smith & Wesson. To me, a .357 or .38 is a lot easier to handle than the big .44. Folks don't seem to be selling their guns like they will their old jewelry. Guns are getting hard to come by and the prices have gone through the roof. CRB
  3. We love to go up towards Bryson City NC to the Nantahala River and go rafting. Also love the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and visiting Cades Cove. it's like stepping back in time 100 years. To stay a few days, there are plenty of cabins around Pigeon Forge, but they are kinda pricy. A hotel room is generally cheaper. also recommend Fall Creek Falls, TN. It's a longer drive, but very relaxing.
  4. I agree that times are tough right now and many folks are struggling to make ends meet. However, I know a lot of poor folks who wouldn't steal a dime from the richest man in town. Every house in Dallas needs a burglar alarm and a few guns to keep the riff raff away. Guns work even if the power's out. just sayin'
  5. Mr. Beal is directly beside Mr' Overall's place and one of the homes that got burglarized is between Mr. Beal and Merchant's Drive. It's a house way back in the woods, but the driveway is on Business 6. If you turn off Wilbanks Circle onto Business 6, it's past the used car lot and behind the house for sale up. If you come to the real estate office, you've gone too far. There was a tractor for sale in the yard about a week ago.
  6. One of the homes backs up to Mr. Beal's house. The thieves ransacked and vandalized it really bad. Please keep an eye out and call the sheriff's office if you see bums hanging around, asking for money or anything suspicious.
  7. The powers that be have given me bullets for being controversial and inflammatory. So can you come up with something dull and non exciting to do so I don't keep getting shot? How about spelling contest or sitting around at Joan's playing checkers? Anyone up for checkers? can you spell checkers?
  8. emotion? Look at all the folks screaming to throw Ms. anthony in jail forever. That's emotion.
  9. My topics about the Caylee Anthony murder keep disappearing. Sheriff Andy is starting to annoy me.
  10. A couple more houses have now been ransacked (Merchant's Drive / Wilbanks Circle area) The house down by the lake was vandalized and stripped of the copper and the inside was totally trashed, now two more homes have been hit. My neighbors car was broken in to and ransacked and my car battery was stolen out of the Toyota. I'm ready to scream. A sign of the times I suppose, but now all day long I see bums walking up and down Merchants Drive. They walk to the dollar store, fast food joints, grocery store, liquor store, pawn shop, etc. and it looks like they've been stopping in my neighb
  11. If a school is continually failing, it's the principal who gets axed under the No Child Left Behind law. The school board sets policy and the principal doesn't teach, yet it's the principal who gets the ax if the kids fail. Isn't something wrong with that? Why not fire the Board members when kids fail? Aren't they the ones accountable to the voters? just sayin'
  12. I have a lot of respect for Mr. Pownall and don't really know much about the rest of the board. I trust him to make a wise decision. I don't want our taxes raised, but if you keep cutting and cutting, eventually our home values will fall and our quality of life will be much worse than if we'd adjusted the millage rate. Again, an adjustment doesn't necessarily mean more taxes than you paid last year. You can pay affordable taxes now, or pay much much more down the road.
  13. The heavy winds blew a tree down across Merchant's Drive between McDonald's and Mrs. Winners. Cars are having to go through the Ingles Parking Lot. 6:15 pm CRB
  14. The best way to prevent a child predator from ever harming another child is to execute them.
  15. If your neighbors are noisy, just loosen the muffler on your lawnmower and run it wide open at night till it simply runs out of gas... Every dog up and down the street will love that. After about three nights, they'll figure out they need to be quiet after 9:00.
  16. Sounds like the local GOP Board of Commissioners as well as GOP dominated Board of Education will be raising our taxes again. I tried to warn folks, but they just wouldn't listen.
  17. We've really slowed down on dining out and going to movies, braves games, etc. and we've spent more outdoor time at White Oak Park, High Shoals, etc.
  18. We liked Scampy's on Thomas Drive. We didn't like Montego Bay though...
  19. Sounds like Pubby knew what was happening,,,, http://www.ajc.com/news/cobb/cobb-drivers-see-fewer-973514.html Police in Cobb County have written 27 percent fewer traffic tickets this year, reflecting added budget pressures that have meant furlough days for cops and elimination of their overtime hours. Mestre said officer morale is very low because of the budget cuts. "It is negatively affecting every single unit," Mestre said. County employees must take five furlough days between April 1 and Sept. 30, when the county's fiscal year ends. But budget woes won't end th
  20. Good! We pay enough in gasoline taxes for our roads already. We shouldn't have to pay tolls on top of the gas taxes too!
