  1. Paulette is a very WEALTHY woman... in a real election, money talks and Paulette has big money backing her.
  2. In another forum I vented about the current school disciplinary policies regarding fighting. If a kid starts punching you, are you supposed to just stand there and take a whoopin and then tattle to the teacher? According to "Policy" if you fight in school (even if you didn't start it), you get hauled off to JAIL... I have a huge problem with that. Can you PLEDGE to try to change this absurd policy? A kid should have the right to defend himself and not face punishment for doing so.
  3. What may not be as familiar to managers and business owners, is that unions can have a positive impact on a company’s bottom line. According to research cited by Harley Shaiken of University of California at Berkeley, studies have shown that the presence of a labor union actually: Improves corporate productivity, Reduces turnover, Boosts corporate profitability and reduces state and federal spending on healthcare and other programs for uninsured or low income workers
  4. Sounds like Bain Capital to me.... Romney made a fortune and the workers got shafted.
  5. Lockheed Martin in Texas is on strike and they've been hiring replacement temporary workers. They'll figure it out that temporary workers cannot assemble aircraft components with the same skill and precision that an experienced machinist can. The biggest contract sticking point is the retirement plan. Lockheed wants to eliminate retirement/pensions for their employees. I' Unions are standing strong to fight for retirements. Face it, social security will go broke before many of us who've paid into it will ever draw a dime. We need retirement security. Lockheed Martin will lose Millions whe
  6. Meaning the CEO's are trying to maximize profits on the back of the blue collar working class. Folks better wake up and stop believing the bull the GOP is putting out there.
  7. Here in 2012 there's a big move by Wall Street and the GOP to rob pension plans. Look at San Jose California, folks who have already retired with a pension are now finding out that the GOP wants to stop paying their retirees. Who's looking out for the workers who've worked for 35 years for retirement, just to be told to go away?
  8. The CEO's won't be happy until they can rob the pension system of vested employees. Big business wants to get out of offering benefits, vacation pay, sick time, retirement, etc. Folks on this board gripe about Unions, but if it weren't for unions, your 10 year old kids would be working in factories for less than minimum wage. In the 1930's, my grandfather worked in a mill for 10 cents and hour, 12 hours a day, 6 days a week with no vacation, no sick time, no insurance or benefits. Its sad when he'd tell stories of working 72 hours a week and going to bed hungry because he wasn't making enough
  9. Remember the rotten years back in the late 70's and 80's? It looks like they're back. Atlanta is on its worst skid since the Braves lost nine in a row from April 21-29, 2010. The Braves have fallen from first place to a last-place tie with the Phillies in the NL East.
  10. My teen now has 20" tires on his truck. Is there a measurable difference in mpg when all other variables are the same, only the tires size is different? Same driver, same motor, same driving conditions, the only thing that changed was tire size. Could the new wheels throw off the calibration of the odometer and speedometer? Could the larger tires erroneously calculate the actual mpg is less? Should we put the 17's back on or keep the fancy 20's? The stock 17" tires seemed to get better gas mileage.
  11. Gone... LUCKY 64... I'm i/m you now.
  12. I've got three tickets to the Braves game for Monday. These are FREE tickets. Please I/M me if you want to go. I don't want to give them to someone who'll sell them.
  13. I was thinking about it, but... I'd probably try to fire everyone and just start over.
  14. I am so disgusted with our current "leaders" at school level, the district office and even our elected board. My son will be a senior in the fall and then I'M DONE with the Paulding County School System. In my view they ALL need to get booted out of office, the superintendant and the school board attorney needs to get fired as well. They stick with "policy" even when the policy makes no common sense. That's just the way they've always done things in the past, so we'll just keep on doing that way. Huh? No wonder Georgia is near the bottom in the whole nation in education. Here's a tru
  15. Well the light went off for a day and a half then came back on again. What's up with that? I'm going to check out the car shop on Bobo Road at Mt. Tabor. Folks seem to recommend him. Car problems can sure get expensive, but it's generally much cheaper than making car payments.
  16. When I've dealt with the school board, I've generally been disappointed. Some of their policies make no sense, especially those dealing with school discipline. They tend to treat kids like convicts instead of students. For example, if two kids get into a shoving match, even the kid who didn't start the fight will get hauled off to jail. That's pure bunk in my view. Jail? Seriously? What are you supposed to do if someone starts punching you, get your ass kicked and then just tattle to the teacher? I don't think so!
  17. I'm considering a run for school board on the At-large ballot against Joe Watson. The deadline to consider is noon tomorrow, so I just wonder who else is running against the current board. We need a change. The current Board of Education with their increased furlough days and increased class sizes seems to be sticking it to the teachers. Who's looking out for the teachers? The current Board of Education sure as heck isn't! Teachers just got the shaft again with another increase in their insurance premiums and they are expected to just sit down and shut up about it. Whatcha t
  18. Why would any woman in her right mind go with a man who had three kids by three different women? What about four or six? Now he's up to thirty? At some point the women are more at fault than the man is. It's pretty simple. If a gal hit the sheets with a man, there's a good chance she'll get knocked up. Common sense. The women are the ones who have disrespected themselves by lying on their back with a man they aren't married to. Call me old fashioned or disrespectful, but how stupid are these women?
  19. its a 2000 jeep wrangler. 4.0 / 6 Cyl motor
  20. The check engine light is on and the guy at AutoZone gave us a free test. The computer said our catalytic converter was bad. Isn't there some Gumout or gasoline additive that will make the check engine light go off? I've used SeaFoam before and even STP. Any suggestions. I suspect a repair shop will want close to $400 to fix it. Thanks CRB
