  1. I'm a total biotch today so here goes: 1. Men who shave their heads bald. Grow your freakin hair out. Your head looks like a big, ugly penis. A bald spot would look much better than your nasty, slick bald head. 2. A co-worker who comes up behind me every. single. day and slurps from his coffee mug before saying good morning. I hate that sound and he drags it waaaaaaaay out. I want to slap him. 3. People who chew with their mouth open and smack their lips. 4. Teachers who refuse to follow my kid's IEP and then complain because he can't keep up in class. Read the IEP an
  2. We have used Eckerd/RiteAid for the past 18 years. Never, ever had a problem with mix-ups or wrong dosage information. WE started filling my son's acne antibiotic at Wal-Mart because it was only $4. Rite Aid got wind of it and they are now filling it for $4 instead of the $15 co-pay we would normally have to pay. We go to the one on Brownsville Road in Powder Springs. They are all really nice, too.
  3. My son and I love cemetaries. We call it "graving". Not morbid at all. Some of the older ones, like the one in Dallas, have some really old markers. Lots of Civil War veterans, etc. I also love to read the different, old fashioned names some people had.
  4. Wow! That's a bargain. Yes, That's how I figured out how a long-lost friend's son had died at 21. Donations were made to some type of Suicide Prevention Society or Group.
  5. I thought I was the only freaky person who reads the obits on a regular basis! I read them from my hometown newspaper every day. I'm at an age (47) where a lot of my friend's parents (and a few friends lately) have passed away and I like to send a card to the family if I knew them well. Also, my dad gets confused about distant family members and friends, etc. as far as who is dead and who isn't. I asked him about a lady whose hair I used to cut. He told me that she had gotten sick and died a few months back. I thought that was weird because I hadn't read about it but chalked it up to som
  6. Thanks for the info. I'll check their site, too.
  7. What is the fee for this conference? Do they address issues related to late teen/adults or is it mostly about helping younger kids?
  8. Yes, they will re-size for free.
  9. That is so true! I kept the last birthday card my mom sent me (we knew she wouldn't make it through the year) and I'm so glad I did. I like to look at what she wrote in the card.
  10. We didn't order from Herff Jones because the side choices didn't look so good. We ordered from Jostens. They had a better selection of side choices and about the same price. You go on line and "make" your ring - they have a nice computer look-a-like showing what your ring looks like as you go - that was also better than the one Herff Jones had. The ring on line looked exactly like the ring that was delivered to us. We ordeed it in mid-December and it was mailed to us in mid-January - about 4 weeks total. We paid about $230 for his ring. He wears it all the time.
  11. I look forward to both holidays every year. My parents made the holidays special for us kids when we were little and I still get an excited feeling around this time. Maybe because the only time we ever got toys/gifts was when it was our birthday or Christmas - that was it! So it was a very exciting time for us. We (my husband and I) have tried to make it the same way with our son. I love to have the tree lit at night and just sit and relax and look at it. My mom has been gone for the past 7 years, but even the first year she was gone, it wasn't really sad because we were all glad she was
  12. Ages 19-21? Aren't they a little old to be doing stupid stuff like that? Man!!!!!
  13. I would be very thankful for a Cheddar's restaurant close by! I loved the Cheddar's in Peoria, IL!!!
  14. I am thankful for my husband and son and our dog, Moe. Thankful for my sisters and brother and my dad (who is tolerating chemo very well - very thankful for that). I'm thankful for my husband's family. Thankful that my son passed the HS writing test on the first try. Thankful that my brother finally got a job this year after not having one for 9 months. Thankful that we still have jobs at our house. Mostly, I'm thankful for my husband and son's good health.
  15. We always had a fake tree that was handed down from my mother-in-law. It was OK. But for the past 6 years we have had a real tree. If you water it every day, it doesn't dry out. I'm not sure why people think they are such a fire hazard. Back when people used to use those huge colored bulbs that got hot, I can see a fire hazard. But the lights we buy (the mini lights) don't get hot so if you keep the tree moist, it's not really a problem. We buy ours Thanksgiving weekend and take it down New Year's Eve. They always last and still look nice when we are ready to take it down. The smell al
  16. My son had to read Speak the summer before his freshman year so he could do a report on it when school started. We both loved it. I highly recommend it. Tangerine is also a good book. Can't remember who wrote it.
  17. They came to our house, too. My husband told them we were Catholic and they almost jumped from the railing to get off the porch!!
  18. HA! Me, too! Only when I'm at work!
  19. Ours do that all the time. Comcast told us to unplug and plug the cable back in. Works every time.
  20. He did my son's tubes when he was 8 mos. and then again when he was 2. He was in Lithia Springs at the time (close to that round hospital that they tore down). That's too bad because he is a very good doctor.
  21. Then I am extra happy for you and your family!! I hope you have a great time together, you all deserve it after all the hardship you have endured!
  22. Things change as you get older and you make new traditions and memories. We lost our mom a few years back but now we are adding a niece when my nephew gets married next year. We had fantastic holidays growing up, too, but we have changed some things around and we have made new memories. I look forward to each year because there always seems to be something new or different going on. I love the holiday season!!!!!!!!!!
  23. My family is also meeting in a cabin Thanksgiving weekend. We are going to Southern Illinois because it is about half way for all of us (they all live up around Peoria, IL). There will be at least 27 of us there! Lots of sleeping bags, good food, and laughs. Can not wait!!!! I hope your family has a good time, too!
  24. Deer chili is the BEST! We love anything deer at our house. In fact, we had Deer Pot Pie last night. Yummy!!
  25. Like I said, I lose weight and it doesn't help. I'm not obese - just a big butt and fat legs! But, he made me feel like that's the only reason I have it. It isn't too bothersome and that's why I don't go back. Usually, if I stay off my feet for a while (like going to bed for the night), my feet are better in the morning. Mostly it's my heels that act up. Good shoes have helped a lot. Also, someone said that massaging their feet made it worse, but I find that squeezing the heel gently helps some. Yeah, I need a new doctor.
