WHy cant i be the person who doesnt eat when stressed?
GGinGA replied to em1973's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I eat like a pig when I'm stressed, which is almot all the time these days. Last week was realy bad. Between my Dad being sick (up in IL), my son taking the graduation tests and the fact that I have volunteered for way too many things lately, I'm about to lose my mind. I get a spoon (or three) of peanut butter and eat it while I cook. Or grab the crappy sliced non-cheese out of the refrigerator. Then at dinner, I eat about twice what I should. If I didn't hate to puke so much, I would honestly try purging. I have gained at least 10 lbs. since Christmas but I'm not sure of the number becau -
Potato soup. No meat on Ash Wednesday. I'm craving a burger right now.

I LOVED Cheddars in Peoria, IL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Unfortunately, there isn't one around here. They are really, really good. -
Kitchen Cooked potato chips and cheese curls are the best in the entire world. Lucky for me I can only get them when I go home to Illinois, or else I would weigh 300 lbs. instead of inching closer and closer to 200 lbs.

I put lentils, ham, chicken broth, onion and garlic in a crockput and let it cook all day. The crockpot is old and usually doesn't heat up unless I set it on high. So, I set it on high and when my husband got home last night, the lentils were not even recognizable. The entire pot of soup was dry and burned black on the side of the crockpot. Ruined dinner. I ate saltines with peanut butter and so did my son. I think my husband had a lunchmeat sandwich. I need to throw the crockpot away. It was a wedding shower gift 22 years ago and I think I've gotten all the use out of it I can get! To

Our grass is always dead over the tank area in the summer when it gets real hot out - dead grass in the exact same size and shape as the tank. The grass is only nice and green over the lines.

It's Cobb county but it's JUST over the Paulding county line. It looks nice but I don't think I've ever seen anyone come and go out of it.

I was behind a car at a light the other day and the person in the passenger seat opened the door, dumped out two large pizza boxes and closed the door and the car took off after the light changed. Pizza boxes!!! He just put them on the road next to the car and away he went! I couldn't believe my eyes! Our neighbor (20-ish) and his friends were standing in the middle of the road talking one afternoon last summer and he was drinking out of a cup from a fast food place. I was getting my mail and when I glanced over, he threw the cup on the ground and kept talking to his friends. I walked

We watch it every year! I love those puppies!!!! That and the half time show for the super bowl if somebody decent is performing. We don't watch the game unless the Bears are playing in it - then my husband will watch some of the game. I hate sports!

I just read "The Lovely Bones" and the commercials for this show, Stolen Voices, sounds like the book. I want to see it. My favorites are on Fit & Health (or whatever they were sent to when Oprah took over Discovery Health). Dr. G, Trauma: Life in the ER, Medical Mysteries. I saw part of show this past weekend called "Enraged" and that one looked pretty good, too.

Seriously crazy? It seems like the stuff that works the best on the problem has the worst side effects! Are there any other side effects to the Claravis besides wacking out? I have never heard of this med before. I'll have to look it up. But, crazy we don't need in our house - especially for a kid who is Autistic to begin with!!

Some people are really sensitive to what they eat as far as it making them break out. When I was a teenager, the doctor always said to stay away from soft drinks, chips and chocolate. I never ate them (we never, ever had stuff like that in our house) and I still had zits. My son doesn't like soda and I never buy chips or chocolate (I don't like chocolate). But his face is bad with zits. I think it just depends. Some people it really affects and some, not so much. I wish it was that easy for my son! Water is always the best for you skin, I think, no matter how old you are.

I have used Proactiv since 2003. I'm 47 (almost 48) and I have acne due to frigging Polycystic Ovarian Disease. It totally cured my acne. HOWEVER, I have never known or heard of a teenager who had the same results with Proactiv. Numerous nieces and nephews, co-worker's children and my own son did not have good results with Proactiv. I don't think it works as well on teenagers, especially those with severe acne. My son is 18 and has gone to a dermatologist since he was 12. We have tried every foam, cream, liquid, wash and rub that they have. He has been on several antibiotics. He has ha

Can you please share the recipe for the lemonade poundcake? -
Will you be fixing mowers this spring? My husband already has plans to bring ours back again this year for a tune up!

That's exactly what happened to my husband Dec. 30th. We called a nurse hot-line (our insurance) because he had just started taking an antibiotic and we thought he might be having an allergic reaction. She made us call 911. They came right out and by the time they got there, my husband was getting better. They checked his vitals and they were fine. I told them I thought he might be having an anxiety attack because it happened in the summer one night, too. My husband told them "no it isn't" and they kind of shrugged and said I hope you feel better! I'm pretty sure he is having anxiety atta

Wow! I can't believe how many of you don't wear lipstick! Sometimes, that's the only cosmetic I wear. I never leave home without it! My lips are very small and thin, so if I don't wear some type of color, it looks like I don't have a mouth!!!!!!!

But they don't do that up north. In IL it is soda (or sometimes sodi) or pop. Coke is a coke, Pepsi is a pepsi. If you want an orange drink, you order an organge drink. If you say coke, that's exactly what you will be served. That's just how it is up there. I had never heard all soft drinks referred to as a coke until I moved here. Just like a drinking fountain or water fountain is a bubbler in WI and MI. That's just how it is.

I tried lamb once at the buffet at that big hotel in Marietta (close to where you get off to get on 41 - can't remember the name of the hotel anymore but I think it starts with a W - buffet is expensive but awesome!). I hated it. Gross, greasy, lamby taste to it that I couldnt' get out of my mouth. I know why they served mint jelly with it - to kill the horrible taste of the lamb. yuck!

I am #4 of 6 kids. I am the "middle" child because the oldest (and only boy) is 8 years older than me and my youngest sister is 8 years younger than me. I am the "fixer" in the family but also the worrier. Don't know how much that has to do with birth order. Just putting my 2 cents in.
