My son passed the writing test last fall but has failed all four of the other parts of the graduation test. He was close with a 197 in Social Studies and a 193 in Science but he got a 181 in Language Arts and a 169 in Math. He has tutored in math for four years because he really sucks at math (takes after his Mom ). This past year, we hired an outside tutor for him. He passes all of his classes (except math - he has a 79 right now) with A's and B's. However, he has NEVER passed a CRCT test or an EOCT test (I think he has passed two actually in 4 years of high school). Am I mad at the B

We helped our son buy a truck from one of those little mom and pop lots in Mableton. It is a 1994 Ford Ranger and we had no idea it had almost all of its original parts on it (worn out parts, I might add - unbelievable!!!). My husband and I know nothing about cars. We figured we would be fixing a few things! It runs great, but we have replaced a lot of parts and are still struggling to get the transmission to stop leaking. By the time everything is fixed, he will have an almost new truck! We have spent as much money fixing it as we did to buy it. Lesson learned. Anyway, I don't reccome

Can anyone recommend someone who trims bushes and takes the trimmings away with them? We had a guy for a few years but the last time he came out, he brought a few amigos with him and they worked while drinking out of brown paper bags! We found all of our bags of trimmings along the road the next morning. I was terrified they would cut their fingers off! So we had a guy come out who had advertised on our mailbox. It looked like he had been drinking out of the paper bags the amigos drank out of! Our bushes are now crooked, overgrown messes. Please advise only if you have actually used the

My son is a Jr. at Hiram. He said he gets his test results today. I'm a nervous wreck. He has never passed an EOCT. I'm thinking he will be taking all of the tests over again. He, of course, thinks he sailed right through. I'm praying he is right. He has a math tutor and she will tutor him for math and science if he doesn't pass those two. He has very good grades in his classes because he does very well on daily work and projects. Tests throw him down every time. Not just standardized tests - all tests. So, just in case he needs it, do they offer any kind of test prep help befo

It was a mimeograph (sp?) machine. It printed purplish-blue ink and it had a smell to it like alcohol. I remember all the kids smelling the paper when the teacher handed them out to us. I use a typewriter almost every day at work.

We have State Farm and when my son got his learner's, I called and the agent told us not to add him until he gets a license. I asked what happened if he got in a wreck or a ticket and was told that whoever the adult was driving with him got the ticket, etc. He got his license last September and that's when we added him to our policy.

Thanks for that! I just copied it to my sisters.

Nope. They can't. They are over $1 million in debt and filed bankruptcy last year.

I wasn't looking for sympathy. I was just adding my pointless comment. Even with furlough days, he's still better off than if he had stayed at CW Matthews. His entire crew was jobless a year after he left.

My husband works for the Bartow County road department. They have had wage freezes and one furlough day each month for the past 3 years. You get used to it after a while.

I can think of a few "remedies", but none of them are humane! LIsterine really does get rid of toe nail fungus. I soaked my big toe in it every night for two weeks for about 10 minutes. The fungus is gone and it hasn't returned. That was over a year ago, too. If a kid bumps his mouth and it bleeds, put sugar on it. It stops the bleeding and the crying at the same time. If you bump you head, rub salad oil on it and it won't raise up in a bump.

I want one.

I used to work with a girl who was very over weight and also needed a breast reduction. The doctor told her she couldn't get a reduction until she lost weight to see if her breasts would get smaller. She went to another doctor and he told her that if she would gain a few more pounds, then she would qualify for weight reductin surgery, which he would perform and after she had that, the other doctor would not deny her the breast reduction. So, she ate like a pig for a few months until her weight qualified as morbidly obese. She had the weight reduction surgery (which the doctor turned in to

Ladies - how many pairs of shoes do you own?
GGinGA replied to dumbestgirlintheworld's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I only have about 20 pairs of shoes if you count flip-flops as a shoe (I have 3 flip-flops). I love to buy shoes because I can gain/lose weight and still wear a size 7-1/2. Shoes and pretty bras and underwear are my weakness and I think it's because shoes and underwear were the only things my mom wouldn't let us hand down to younger sisters so they were always only mine. I love to buy purses, too, even when I don't really need a new one. -
One of my sisters was always the fattest kid in the class (not to mention the smartest kid in the class). She was also the only one of us six kids who was over weight. My parents encouraged her to play out side with the rest of us, climbing trees and riding our bikes but she would rather sit and read a book. They bought her roller skates and she learned to skate while she read a book! When she was 12, she had to get braces and the ortho asked to see her medical file. He noticed a doctor's note saying that she had a heart murmer so he said she needed that checked before he would start trea

I am a fan of Private Collection by Estee Lauder. I only use the powder and lotion - not the spray cologne/perfume. I haven't worn any scent in a few years because they no longer sell the powder or lotion. It was a light, powdery scent that I loved. It was never overpowering because I didn't spray it on. I wish I could find the lotion and powder again so I could wear a scent. I don't buy on-line anything so that's not an option. I used to wear Charlie when it first came out when I was in high school. Loved it but now when I smell it, I think it's too strong. I probably knocked everybo

Will you please share that recipe?

Neither did I. Nobody asked me. Not even my future husband, and I went to high school with him, too. I can't believe the outfit on the girl wearing orange and her boyfriend in the white suit. Where the hell was her mother when she walked out the door wearing that get-up? I don't even want to discuss the two morons in white at the beginning of this post. And I think that I'm fat and look bad!!!!!! Criminy!!!!!!!!!!!!!
