  1. Thanks, everyone, for your responses. I think we will probably go with the Serta Memory Foam. Supposedly, you can try it for 30 (or 60?) days and return it if you don't like it. My husband sweats in a snow storm so that might be the deciding factor - if he sweats, it's outta there!!
  2. Thanks for that info!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't have a Sam's card but we have been wanting to get one. This weekend would probably be a good time to get a Sam's card and check out the prce on that mattress!!
  3. The Serta we are looking at has a 25 year guarantee. My main concern is how long will it take to have two troughs? We have that now and I can't sleep for crap. I really like the firmness of the I-Comfort Genius - the comfort rating is a "4.5" which says it that if you like sleeping on the floor, this bed is for you! While that is right up my alley, I think I will have to have my husband spend a little more time trying it out. To me, it feels like when you are in the beach and the sand conforms to you body. I like that. Now they are offering a free "luxury blanket" with purchase! I
  4. A guy I work with has a sleep number bed and highly recommends it. The memory foam cover over it is a good idea!
  5. That's good to hear. I like a very, very firm bed and that's what I liked about this one we are looking at. My back is messed up from my former life when I cut hair for a living! I need firm.
  6. After 19 years, our mattress is on it's last legs. We have a Simmons individually wrapped coil mattress. It was great for the first 10 years or so. This weekend we checked out a very firm memory foam mattress and I think we are getting it. I have been reading reviews and they all say they get hot at night and sag soon. Any opinion one way or the other? The firm memory foam was great on my back when I tested it out but it's hard to tell for sure when you are only testing it for 10 minutes or so. We are looking at a Serta Genius model. Thanks.
  7. Your neighbor needs to see it! I love that movie. I thought Dwight Yokum did a good job in it and I love anything Billy Bob does!
  8. Frank, he lives inside of his own heart. That's an awful big place to live in. - Karl, Slingblade
  9. I have found apples to be one of the last foods I can tolerate when I've had a stomach bug. Start slow with tea, plain toast, saltine crackes. No dairy, veggies or meat. Luke warm chicken broth usually holds pretty good, too. A BRAT diet is usually bananas, rice, applesauce and tea.
  10. Two songs make me bawl like a baby - and both of them are from my parent's funerals. From my Dad's funeral, If You Could See Me Now. I think somebody named Paul Morton recorded it but I'm pretty sure others have, too. From my Mom's funeral, Here I Am Lord. In fact, we sang this one at church yesterday and I bawled through the entire song and I mean I BAWLED to the point where my husband asked me if I wanted to leave. I love the song but can never sing it because I always, ALWAYS cry when I hear it. I think Daniel O'Donnell recorded it, again others have, too. Thank God these songs are n
  11. We had eggplant parmeasan over spaghetti noodles with green beans on the side.
  12. Our public school did this in the late 1960's/early 1970's, too. We were weighed and measured during PE. The only bad part was when a heavy-set kid had their turn to get weighed and the other kids would get real quiet to hear what their weight was and then giggle. Those giggling kids would usually be jerked up by the shirt collar and had to sit on the bleachers and then miss recess. WE also had the flouride and eye exams administered by the county health department. I think that's the only time most of the kids had that done (eye exam). The health department had somebody come in to each cla
  13. My dad passed away in September of last year. There are 6 kids in my family so the estate is divided by the 6 of us kids. Because one of my siblings owed my Dad $60,000, we could not distribute any part of the estate (except life insurance payouts and IRA distributions) until it got to where everyone would get at least $60,000. Once the estate reached at least that amount for each of us, then it could be distributed. I assumed that was the law in Illinois. Don't know for sure because, since I don't live in Illinois, I'm not the administrator (or whatever you call the person "in charge" of t
  14. What happened on Sweetwater Church and at what time? I live in Faraday Woods. Thanks!
  15. Bart's Books in CA is my favorite. I also liked Livraria Lello in Portugal and Shakespeare & Co. in Paris. I love bookstores and libraries!
  16. No, I have never used it. But after watching "My 600 Lb. Life" last night, I might not ever eat again. EVER.
  17. This song always makes me cry. It should have a black box warning on the video that says "Mascara Alert".
  18. I use TurboTax. I have for the past 5 or 6 years. It's fast and easy. My boss is a CPA and I ask her or our corporate tax person if I get stuck on something or have a question. I have been doing my own taxes since I was 13 and had my first job. I will teach my son how to do the 1040EZ form this year. The only time I have ever had my taxes done by someone else was when I worked in Illinois and Michigan one year and got confused about something and decided to have it done. I went to H&R Block that year.

  21. Thank you. That's too bad. I wonder how long the one at Brownsville and 92 will last. They don't seem to ever be real busy.
  22. I thought they looked alike, too.
