    Sleep Poll

I wake up at 3:30 Monday through Thursday so I can be at work by 5:30 or 6:00. I work four 10-hour days so I can have Friday off. I go to bed between 7 and 9 every night, depending on what I have to do that night. On weekends, we are usually up by 6:00 just because we are used to being up early and I usually go to bed between 9 and 10 on the weekends. I cannot stay in bed once I'm awake. I have never been a late sleeper, even as a teenager. And, once my head hits the pillow at night, I'm out. Or, once my butt hits the passenger seat in a car, for that matter! I can be half way out of it
  2. Because of severe ear infections, my son had very limited hearing until he was about 3. We didn't realize that he was reading lips until he was almost three. He couldn't say the sounds you make in the back of your throat like the "ck" combination so chicken was "chitten". Burgers were "burders". He played "cops and barbers". He ate "puptates" (cupcakes). Even when he was older, he would get half of the correct word or pronunciation and go with it - we spent a lot of time camping at "Skippies Get Away Island" (Skiddaway Island) in Savannah!
  3. Everyone has always said that our son looks just like his dad. Actually he looks just like me but with his Dad's blonde hair. If Tyler had black hair, he would look just like me. WE have the same face (poor kid).
  4. My favorite had been Mary Did You Know but then I heard Faith Hill sing A Baby Changes Everything. Love that song!! I'm really in to Mary so maybe that's why I love those songs so much. Oh, and Amy Grant sings Breath of Heaven that's really good, too. Those are my favorites.
  5. I'm from Illinois, too. Everyone I knew had all the gifts wrapped. Must be a northern thing!
  6. At our house, everythig was wrapped. We didn't get gifts from MOm and Dad, only Santa. Even the stockings had small wrapped gifts in them. No gifts were opened on Chrismas Eve, only Christmas morning. The only gifts under the tree before Christmas morning were the gifts between us 6 kids and gifts from us to our parents. Even when we were older and all of us in high school or college, the "Santa" gifts were wrapped and not under the tree until Christmas morning. It was soo exciting as a kid to wake up early (I mean EARLY - 3:00 AM) and sneak downstairs to see all the presents under the
  7. Try these using lemon frosting in the middle and dipping in white bark. Very good!
  8. Deer burgers, seasoned fries, corn or pinto beans
  9. You can buy one that they have a hard time/can't get in to. I love to watch birds, especially cardinals! He might enjoy it.
  10. As a former hairdresser, I have to say that we get a reputation for being gossipy but most of the time people just TELL us stuff. It's like being a therapist. Some people would sit in my chair, I would ask how they wanted their hair cut, they would tell me, and then they would start in on their husband, mother, daughter, son's girlfriend, etc. I never asked about them, they just told and told. Some of them were lunatics. Others, just lonely, I think and needing somebody to talk/vent to. I used to just nod my head, occasionally go "really?" or "um hm" and keep cutting.
  11. Maybe a bird feeder, some bird seed and book about what types of birds might be at his feeder (description, etc.).
  12. A co-worker of mine had the balls to honk at me and then go around me to avoid stopping for a school bus that had its light on, flashing red, and letting kids off the bus on Veterans Memorial a few weeks ago. I turned him in. He no longer drives a company vehicle.
  13. the on-line AJC has a picture of him. I don't know how the cops with him can stop themselves from beating the living crap out of him and then claiming he tripped or something.
  14. Great!!! Thanks everyone! And I will watch my speed. Cobb is bad for tickets anywhere you go.
  15. Are you telling me that, yes, they connect, or making fun of "for sure"?
  16. Can anyone tell me for sure if Macland Road becomes Windy Hill Road at the intersection of Powder Springs Road? Some maps show that they connect and other maps don't show it. I need to get from Hiram High School to Windy Hill/I-75 quickly on Thursday afternoon. Thanks!
  17. I'm so sorry to hear that your mom is gone. It's hard enough but around the holidays is twice as hard to handle. I lost my dad in September and this will be the first Christmas with both of my parents gone. Just remember this - you can't miss someone when you know where they are. Peace to you and your family. GMR
  18. Dax Locke was from Washington, IL, which is right next door to my hometown of Morton, IL. The year he passed away, I got an e-mail from a friend from home around October asking us to put up our Christmns decorations early. They knew Dax was terminal at that point and since he loved Christmas lights, their neighbor started a campaign for everyone to decorate early so they could drive him around to look at lights. People from all over the world sent in their light pictures from October until when he died in late December. It is very sad. His parents have had another baby, a little girl named
  19. Yes. Corner of Hwy. 92 and Brownsville Road.
  20. We used to get my Dad and his lady-friend gift cards to restaurants and movie gift cards. They enjoyed them, especially the movie gift cards. Someone gave them Omaha Steak certificates on year that went over big, too.
  21. We have about the same thing here where I work. 10 vaction days earned after 1 year of service, no sick days. We get 5 paid holidays per year: Memoral Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christms Day. I 've been here 23 years.
