  1. We learned about pulling over for a funeral in driver's ed in Illinois. That and the "mail truck has the right of way no matter what" issue. It's amazing the things you learn in driver's ed...
  2. That's good to hear! I was thinking of him last night. I hope the rest of his treatment goes smoothly!
  3. I'll be praying for Spencer.
  4. I honestly don't understand why/how it took them 10 years to escape. Did they not ever have a free minute away from the guys? I could see if they were children who wouldn't know how to contact police or family. But these three were old enough to know what to do. Maybe I need to re-read the article but I just don't understand.
  5. That cracked me up!!! It sounds like she would have been a fun person to know.
  6. St. Vincent De Paul Society - (678) 892-6163 or (770) 443-1533. They provide temporary assistance with food and bills.
  7. I love rabbit! My grandpa used to raise them to sell to grocery stores. My mom refused to cook them so my grandma would roast one like a chicken every so often so we could have it. It does taste like chicken to me. But squirrel tastes more like chicken. I love deer to. I can't make myself try a frog leg though. We dissected frogs in biology and I can't get the formaldehyde (sp?) smell out of my head when I look at them.
  8. We turned the heat on last night. The rain makes it feel colder outside than it really is. We had the AC on most of April and now the heat. It's supposed to be 87 degrees on Thursday!
  9. We are pretty sure the cause is debris that was buried when the houses were built. My neighbor has one, too and it's about 5 feet deep, also along the property line. Thanks everyone for the info.! Thank you. I'll add this company to my list of people my husband can call for quotes. I think this would be too big for us to do ourselves.
  10. They pull over in Illinois when there is a funeral and if you don't, you will get a ticket. I always stop down here but have almost gotten hit by others who don't stop. I pull way over to the side.
  11. That's funny! I love it and it's too true!!!
  12. Yeah, I pretty much know what needs to be done, I was just wondering if anyone had experience hiring anyone to do this and about how much it cost them. I can see this costing us a small fortune.
  13. We need a sink hole repaired in our backyard. It runs along the property line and taking our neighbor's fence along with it. We had it filled in as a quick fix about 6 years ago but it is right back down again. Have any of you ever fixed a sink hole in your yard and if so, who did you use and about how much did it cost you? Our sink hole is about 10 ft.long and about 2 feet wide. Thanks!
  14. I had the same thought go through my head. The article says he got in a red truck. Could be the same freaky guy.
  15. I. LOVE. YOU. By the way. The Jesus meatballs need a trim. We will be calling soon!
  16. I just bought some white capri pants that have flowers on them. I'm 50 and have a big caboose. But they were so cute on the hanger that I couldn't resist buying them.
  17. I must really be missing out on all the stuff that happens in Hiram. I have never had a problem anywhere in town. I shop at Wally World every week and have never had an issue of any kind there. You guys should come to work with me some day on Hollowell Pkwy. (a.k.a. Bankhead Hwy.) in Atlanta. You would think Hiram is Disney World.
  18. Tide Clorox Jif peanut butter Proactiv for my face Dukes mayo Folger's coffee Everything else can be no-name brand.
  19. I'm with you on this one! I would be there no matter what.
  20. I thought about changing mine to short-fat-middle-aged-Italian-woman but it's way too long so I'll just keep what I have.
  21. I just bought a Downy ball at Wal-Mart. Our washer has a dispenser for softener but it spews it at the lid of the machine and then the rest just drips down the side of the agitator and stains the clothes. the Downy ball works like it's supposed to every time.
  22. Is the salmon recipe the one where you marinate it in soy sauce and brown sugar? If so, I made it last week and it's really good. I baked it one time and the next time I made it I grilled it outside. Both very, very good and flavorful! We are having deer Salisbury steak with gravy and mashed potatoes and green beans.
  23. Your kitchen is beautiful! Did you refinish your cabinets yourself or did you have them done by someone else?
  24. We will be calling you at the end of this month or beginning of next month. The yellow bells in the back yard are getting out of hand again! The Jesus meatballs are still looking good, they just need a little off the sides here and there.
