  1. My 20 year old son has Aspergers. He hit all of his milestones like any other kid. He was late to talk but so were a few other kids in my family and they are not anywhere on the spectrum. Each kid is different and each with Autism is different. The only things we noticed early with our son was that he was very hard to potty train (sensory issues that allowed him to totally ignore that fact that he was wet/messy - he didn't seem to care about it), and he played with toys in a different way. For example, instead of making his toy cars go vroom and running them across the floor, he just line
  2. We have the same. No problems with either service. I wish Comcast would let us pick what channels we want to receive and pay accordingly, not just package levels like they have now. I mean pick every channel we want to get. We could do without the golf channel and all of the stupid sports channels, and also the Chinese channels that sometimes show up.
  3. We haven't noticed our memory foam being hot or even warm. It has some kind of cooling comfort gel though so maybe that's it. Believe me, my husband can sweat in a blizzard and he hasn't been hot with the memory foam.
  4. We have had our Serta iComfort Genius for a year. We love it. We got the firmest mattress you could get. It never had a smell to it that other people have complained about. It is not a hot or sweaty sleep, either. WE bought our son an iComfort mattress in August but i can't remember which one. I know it isn't as firm as our mattress. He was having back aches and shoulder aches (he's 20) and they are gone since he got his new mattress. (my son's mattress is the iComfort Insight)
  5. My son started going here last year (he just turned 20). He likes it and they are very nice there.
  6. I read the obits from my home-town newspaper every day. My Dad used to tell me when somebody we knew died, etc. from home but he's gone and I want to know when old school friends die and also their parents. I'm at an age (49) where my friend's parents seem to be dying like crazy lately.
  7. This is a refreshing drink to have on hand. I make this all the time. My family calls it "Zen Water"! REally good over ice on a hot day.
  8. My nephew used to sing the Amy Grant song Baby I'm The Lucky One as Baby I'm The Yucky One at the top of his lungs when he was 2 or 3. He and my sister used that song as the mother/son dance song at his wedding.
  9. I still love Stevie Wonder!! "I like to Reggae, but you dance too fast for me...." My favorite !Did you like his "In Square Circle" album? I think it was in the early 80's.
  10. It was a 4-way briefly before they installed the light. I lived in the 6th or 7th house down from it (grey house with steep driveway). It was not a 4-way very long before the light was installed - like maybe a matter of weeks. Do you remember the guy who used to sleep in the woods at the stop sign on Brownsville Road? He used to drive a horse-drawn cart of some kind and pull in to the woods where Food Depot is now and sleep overnight once in a while.
  11. I always wanted to have a look at that shack house - I saw the pile of wood where it fell. When we moved from Cobb, we were living on Whitlock in Marietta and my husband would never want to come to Paulding to see how the building of our house was progressing. "It's too far to drive". Back then, Whitlock/120 was a two lane road and they were just widening it when we moved (my husband worked for CW Matthews and he was on the crew that widened it). It seems like it took forever to get to this end of Paulding back then. Now it really does just because of the traffic. I can't wait until they
  12. I'll have to check it out. By "homestead" do they mean the house that sits up on kind of a hill with the pasture in front of it? Tidwell Road runs along side of it. It looks vacant. I used to like seeing the horses and cows in the pasture. Most of Brownsville Road was pasture on either side of it when we moved here from Cobb Co. in 1992. WE lived on Brownsvlle Road but up closer to the little strip mall. There used to be a 4-way stop sign at the light at 92. Things have changed for sure.
  13. Naked is right! So they are just doing it for the trees/wood? That's too bad - it was pretty in the fall with all those trees.
  14. OK. I saw a sign up that said land for sale. Thanks for the information!
  15. Does anyone know why they are clearing all that land on Brownsville Road (Paulding County side)? A subdivision doesn't make sense because it is in patches kind of on one side and then a big area on the other. Just wanted to know if anyone here has the scoop on that.
  16. I have seen their sign and I think it has a phone number on it you could try.
  17. I think it was a guy who did it. Or did I read it wrong?
  18. I think that's old news. They stopped using red ink when my son was in 1st grade. He's 20 now. They told me back then that they don't use red ink anymore because it made the kids feel bad about themselves. Kind of dumb in my opinion. Red always means wrong or stop or no.
  19. I would love to visit a medium or go to the John Edward show. If I could afford it, I would have a meeting with George Anderson. He is my favorite. But you have to go to Long Island to see him. My aunt went to a medium once. She is kind of a medium herself but doesn't do "readings" for other people. When she walked in to the room, the medium started stacking bibles up between them and she told my aunt that she scares her because my aunt is more "powerful" than her. Weird. My aunt "knows" things and sees people's faces in the clouds when they are going to die. I have a tendency t
  20. We enjoyed Ft. Mountain this past October. Very pretty and nice sites. We also really like Skidaway Island near Savannah. You can be at Tybee in about 20 minutes from there. The camp sites are large and the place is very clean. You are not right up against the next camper. There is plenty of space in between and it's quiet.
  21. You could be describing my 20 year old son who has aspergers (except the group of friends statement because he has NO friends). I don't think my son's disorder was caused by vaccinations, my age or what we fed him. It just "is". I've spent enough time trying to figure out why for him. It doesn't matter to us anymore HOW he got it, he has to deal with it and we are helping him. He is and will continue to be a productive member of society. It will just take him a little bit longer to do what other people his age do because he has to find a way for every situation to "work" for him. He's g
  22. It's been a few years (20 actually) since I needed to use a diaper bag but I had one from L.L. Bean that I loved. It had a removable changing pad and a waterproof zippered bag for dirty/wet clothes. I remember using both of those features often. Also, special areas that held full bottles in place without spilling.
