  1. "Many were athletes, AP honor students, and involved in school clubsand activities. ' Why would it matter if they are honor students or involved in school athletics and/or activities? Wrong is wrong. I remember a few years back when some kids got arrested for knocking down mail boxes. My boss was having a fit because the kids were athletes who were up for scholarships and she felt like the law should go easy on them because of that. I asked her if she would feel the same way if the kids were band members or in JROTC. She didn't have a good answer for that one.
  2. I was never an Elvis fan. But I have to say - he was a hunk of burnin love when he was young - very nice looking man! He had the most beautiful eyes!
  3. I will 51 in April. I did the night sweats when I was about 42 or so. Then, nothing else happened. I don't think I'll ever go through menopause. I have noticed my hair thinning on the top of my head but dark hair growing on my chin. Yeah, I know. A real beauty, huh? I have been near sighted since I was in 4th grade but three years ago, I had to move to bifocal glasses and contacts. The weight gain/not being able to lose it is the worst thing though. I am huge. Thank God I haven't had any of the muscle/joint issues others have had (so far). I sleep good (too good, I go out as soon as
  4. If he didn't see the train he was probably also texting.
  5. I remember that, too. We started crying as soon as the doorbell rang because we knew he would give us a shot in our butt.
  6. I'm so glad to hear that!! This will be a very merry Christmas for all of you for sure!!!!!
  7. I agree with everything you said. I love pantyhose and I saw a few girls in the Christmas parade who should have had some on their legs!
  8. I'm so sorry for your family's loss. There is no more wondering and worrying about her now. Peace to you all.
  9. I would have died of fright long before they found me! I can't swim and I hate being in water.
  10. We started at the cemetery on Hwy. 92. Then the church parking lot on Brownsville Road. From there we went to Austin Bridge (the side that has very little paved area and the rest is dirt road). That dirt road is almost like a wet road and it was good practice making quick stops and almost sliding (like when the pavement is wet and you have to stop quickly). We went to Taylor Farm park a few times, too. The main thing is to go places where they can't run in to too many things at first. My son's problem once we got on the road was hugging the side of the road - sometimes it would be the
  11. I just got to work in Atlanta. The roads are wet and it's raining but I didn't come across any sleet or ice. It wasn't too bad. Luckily, it's 34 degrees right now. Any colder and we would have a real mess on our hands.
  12. I was 6 months old. I remember my mom saying she was mad because they interrupted her "story" on TV for a news event. Then she found out it was because he president was killed. She said it was very depressing and sad because they only played funeral music on the radio and that's the only thing you saw on TV. There were only three channels and you couldn't turn the station over to something else.
  13. He was very funny! No matter what part he played, he always wound up "playing" Paul Lynde. I loved him on Hollywood Squares.
  14. This looks like it would be fabo! I'm adding this to my menu for sure. I needed something to do with sweet potato instead of putting it in a dish and baking it with marshmallows! Thanks!
  15. I have always used the basic pie recipe on the Libby's pumpkin label. It is basic and simple and I always add more spice than it calls for!
  16. We use them all the time for watch batteries. They are nice people and have really good prices.
  17. The same thing happened to me when I went for my colonoscopy. The nurse missed the vein in my right arm and had to go to the other arm. The arm he "missed" swelled up and turned all colors - red, blue, black for two weeks and then finally yellow for about a week. the nurse told me to put a warm compress on it if it started to hurt or got really big. After the lump went down, it no longer hurt but looked really bad for about 3 weeks.
  18. I do the same thing. I cook my turkey in the electric roaster so my oven is free for other food that needs to be baked. I cook the turkey in the roaster until the timer pops up and then I throw it in the oven for about 15-20 minutes to brown it. Turns out perfect every year!
  19. Beautiful family and photos! I just want to smooch that baby's cheeks!!!!!
  20. I think the big tree on top of the Northside hospital is fake every year and it looks fine. Heck, I WANT a fake tree but the men in my house won't even discuss it. Our real tree two years ago fell over after being up just fine for 6 or 7 days and all of my keepsake ornaments broke. I am still vacuuming pine needles out of the hardwood cracks from last year. You just never get them all up, you know?
  21. I agree. Are they sure the bald spots weren't caused by extensions being too tight? It's called traction alopecia and people who have braids that are too tight often have bald spots.
