I just got a new router with wireless from At&T. I hooked it up myself and it was very easy to do. You get instructions with large pictures. Just what I needed! I also got it because I got a Kindle Fire. You just have to add the SSID (?) number to the Kindle. It asks you for it and the other number on the box. Just key it in exactly like it shows on the side of the router. I called AT&T because my KIndle kept saying it couldn't connect to the wireless device. AT&T asked me if I keyed it in exactly like the box showed - well no, I didn't use capital letters so it didn't work

Thanks for this recipe! I'll use it during Lent!

I cook almost everything in cast iron, not just corn bread. I love it for frying anything. The more you use it, the more non-stick it becomes. I don't clean mine with soap. I scrape it out and wipe it down. If something is stuck, I'll boil a little water in it to soften it, then scrape it out and wipe it down again. I don't use cooking oil to coat the surface after I clean it because I feel like it makes the surface sticky. I use either bacon grease or Crisco and a light coating of either after I clean it.

After my mom died, my dad had glass angel ornaments made for all 6 of us kids. It had a gold halo and it was holding a banner with her birth - death years on it. It was small and very pretty. Last year I hung it with a heavy heart because I knew I would have to find one like it for my Dad who passed away last September (2011). Our tree hit the dirt right before Christmas and the angel got broken into about a million pieces. We also lost some blown glass ornaments that I loved and I was mad about those but that angel made me sob while I swept up the pieces. I should have never hung it on -
I'm a HUGE supporter of law enforcement but this irks me

When my husband and I were newly married, we lived on Whitlock in Marietta. I worked at the McDonalds across the street from our apartment part time (for about 3 days) and they gave free meals to the cops, too. In return, the cops showed up at closing and sat in the parking lot so the manager could leave the store with the bank bag and not get robbed and they also showed up when the manager got to the store first thing in the morning to open up. Didn't bother me at all. I thought it was a nice thing for them to do (both the cops and McDonalds). -
We are keeping our landline. I refuse to be like our neighbors and have to walk around outside to talk on a cell phone. Stupid.

Your crossed out statements made me laugh out loud!!! I agree!!!!

My mom also used Miracle Whip instead of mayo. We never had mayo in the house because she didn't like the taste. Miracle Whip makes the best potato salad hands down and it's the best on turkey sandwiches. I love plain old mayo (I dip french fries in mayo) and I buy Dukes. Never had it before I got a sample of it at the fair one year. I have used it ever since.

I remember that! It did smell good. Avon had a lot of good smelling perfumes, too.

They are open. I pass it every day to and from work. Remember Skinny Dip perfume? or Desert Flower perfume?

Our grocery store in town also had a big plastic horse you could ride for 5 cents. It sat next to the gumball machines at the front of the store. My sister Amy and I used to sit on the horse and smile at everyone who came in to the store in hopes that they would find us too cute to resist and put a nickel in the horse so we could have a ride. It never happened and my mom never let us ride it. We could sit on it all we wanted while she was at the check out counter though. My mom also got a lot of things that came with dish soap, etc. Usually kitchen towels. One year around Christmas

I also used to use Prell when I was in high school. It smelled great and made my hair very shiny. It just is not good if you color, perm or straighten your hair. I think I liked it because the commercial used to show a pearl being dropped down in to the green shampoo and it showed how thick and luxurious(sp?) the shampoo was because it took a long time for the pearl to drop down. I guess you could give the rinse and re-use thing a try. I don't think they sell Janitor In a Drum anymore.
-
We learned in beauty school that Prell has the same ph as Janitor In A Drum (cleaner).

If this is the definition of "soft skills" they already have a class that teaches this at the high school level - it's called JROTC. I highly recommend it.

I LOVE Polar Express! The little kid who says "Christmas just.... doens't work out for me" makes me cry. I love when he gets back to his house and finds presents there. I know - I'm a dork. I also love Christmas Vacation, A Christmas Carol (the Muppets, the old one with Sims and the new one from 2 or 3 years ago), Holiday Inn, Rudolph and all of the other stop action puppet shows by Rankin Bass. Have any of you ever seen Home for the Holidays with Holly Hunter? It's not Christmas - it's Thanksgiving - but I love that movie. robert Downey Jr. steals the show. I think Jodi Foster directed

That's good to hear about 98.5. I think they did it last year, too. My husband comes unglued when I play it when he is in the car but I like to listen to it to and from work. Thanks!

I guess I will scan the stations after Thanksgiving and try to find something. I have Christmas CD's as a back up!

Don't shoot me for asking but does anyone know if any of the local radio stations are playing Christmas music this year? They have changed so much lately I have no idea and I haven't heard any station mention it.
