  1. You could always come home by way of Savannah. Be sure to watch "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" before you go!
  2. Let us know what she says....I'm excited for you!
  3. If you look at her website, there is an email address so you can contact the artist. I'm sure she could give you an appraised value. And let us know what you find out! Is your item jewelry or pottery? She does beautiful work!
  4. Years ago my cousin had dyslexia. She wrote everything upside down and backwards. If you held it to a mirror, you could read what she wrote. I don't remember what they did to correct it, but she did learn to read and write correctly. My neighbor's daughter had it, and her doctor said to enroll her in ice skating. Once she started skating, she overcame the dyslexia - something about the coordination required. I think a lot of kids make letters backwards sometimes. Check with your pediatrician and see what they suggest.
  5. There will be an old car 'swap meet' in Moultrie, GA the weekend of Feb. 3. There will be old cars for sale, and lots of 'rusty parts', and good ones, too. You should take him to that for his birthday - you'll probably both enjoy it!
  6. Just be sure to get their promises in writing and be there when they start to top those trees. They were supposed to leave azaleas, dogwoods, mimosas and small native growth on ours, but we were out of town when the cutting began, and they clear-cut everything. We were shocked! The 'cutters' "didn't have our contract in hand," so everything went - and GT did not replace anything! We're still 'bald'!!
  7. I thought I had water in my ears once that lasted for months. However, one day DH and I decided to take a ride up in the mountains. As we went up the mountain my ears popped and that was the end of that water in the ear feeling.
  8. Another Italian place I forgot to mention: Rosarios on Cobb Parkway North, in strip shopping area in front of Walmart. From Cobb Pkwy., turn like you're going into Walmart, then immediate left. Really good food! Mama comes in every day and makes the sauces. Mama's desserts can't be beat, either! Very nice people!
  9. Our kids' doctor told us to use alcohol to dry water in the ears. Just put a couple of drops in each ear.
  10. For Italian, we like Vincent's on Barrett Parkway, across from Pikes, and Ipilito's (near the Olive Garden) across from Town Center.
  11. This reminds me of a high school English teacher who rolled through a stop sign. Recognizing the officer who pulled her over as a former student of hers, she reminded him that she had been his teacher in high school. The officer replied, "Yes, Ma'am. I know who you are, and that stop sign was a period, not a comma."
  12. Snakes - IMO the only two kind in GA are the dreaded Coppermouthwaterrattler and the Cobra.
  13. Well, you've got the green eggs. Where's the ham? I've made my deviled eggs 'festive' at Easter, coloring them pastel colors, but I've never done Christmas eggs. My son was grossed out by my Easter eggs, but I told him if they tasted purple or pink, I'd make him some new ones.
  14. What ever happened to Reform Schools?

  17. Real sleigh bells are going to be expensive. I saw a leather strap of bells at Cobb Antiques near the Big Chicken in Marietta, seems like they were about $250-300. You can order them online from some Amish places in Ohio, etc. Just google sleigh bells, Amish sleigh bells, etc. Try this link: http://www.santassleighbells.com/ My Santa orders his sleigh bells from the above link. They are beautiful, and there's nothing like the sound of real sleigh bells!
  18. Maybe. The cars were there for more than 2 hours, so we were curious.
  19. And, you're right lowrider. There were several police cars with lights flashing right at the entrance.
  20. Anyone know what was going on there tonight. Police cars at front of restaurant when we were in the area at 8:00 pm, until we left area at 10:00 pm.
  21. Be sure to look your interviewer in the eye and smile. Try to find out the latest information on the hospital (are they expanding, adding a new unit, equipment). Be prepared to ask them questions, too.
  22. Stack the bread and use an electric knife to cut the crusts off all at once. Or make two or three shorter stacks of bread. Quick and easy.
  23. If he's all that special, he'd have a private jet. A legend in his own mind!
