  1. Accidents happen - that is why they are called accidents. We are all human - and we make mistakes. My heart goes out to all involved including the dump truck driver and his family. What a heavy burden to carry when none of it was intentional. God Bless you all!
  2. you are absolutely right - there is someone carrying us all, or we simply would not make it through this.
  3. When I was a kid, my Mom put eardrops in my nose! Did the trick but she said she thought I was dying!
  4. I think that part of the reason is because we keep hearing --- things are changing just hang in there - how long do we have to hang in there? Gas does go down slightly, then it goes back up more than before. Unemployment goes slightly down - then it shoots up higher. Groceries are going up all the time. Tuition is going up. Taxes are going up. Does anything ever come down and stay down? I just wish the "higher up powers that be" would quit making promises that they know cannot possibly happen. This is a different world and is things will never be the same as they were. Quit giving us
  5. I know you can - women are powerful and strong and can do anything they set their minds too! Let the housework go if you need to, it will still be around. Cook easy meals, your kids won't starve! You will have so much to be proud of when you are finished! Stand tall!
  6. I want to tell you about my experience with one of my sons when they were in their teens. My son got caught smoking weed by the police and he was locked up overnight. After all the smoke cleared I asked him where it came from. He told me one of his friend's parents were supplying it. I thought "oh right" and chalked it up to he didn't want to tell and I would never find out. A year or so later I actually found out the parents did supply it. I was shocked to say the least. So sometimes as far fetched as the answers may seem to you, your kid could actually be telling the truth, (usual
  7. So beautiful and so alert! Congratulations!
  8. Congratulations - I see it as congradulations all the time. Also sort of mentioned above - its and it's Example: Its successors and or assigns (term used in law) and It's going to snow today. It's means it is and its shows possession. I see it misused all the time in the law firm I work at.
  9. Had 4 boys and I was sick morning, noon and night and every minute in between. The doc kept testing me for gestational diabetes because I only gained 8 pounds during all 4 pregnancies combined. But you know what, my skin and hair looked great.
  10. There is a type of gout that has to be controlled by meds. I have been taking one pill daily for 20+ years. I know there is a chronic gout and an acute gout. Chronic gout patients (me) have to take a medication to prevent attacks, whereas most acute gout patients just take meds to treat gout attacks.
  11. I have gout and apparently I was born with it. I was diagnosed at age 18 with just a checkup (blood work) before I got married. It does run in my family and it is not as common in women as in men. I had my first attack when I was 34 and I would much rather go through childbirth with nothing for pain (I did that once) than to have another gout attack.
  12. Well, I have a different problem with the grapes. I don't want to purchase 6 dollas of grapes so I take some out of the bag and put them in another bag. I am the only person in my household who eats grapes and I simply cannot eat that many before they spoil. I do not sample them, I take my chances on that part, but I do shift from one bag to another to purchase about 1 lb instead of the 2+ lbs they put in the bags. I checked with a produce person before I did this the first time and that person said to go ahead.
  13. Have 4 - 32 year old - sleep on the stomach and don't feed them cereal until you think they need it. 28 year old - sleep on stomach - doc says you have one, I think you know what to do with the second one. 25 year old - you have 2 - do what you think is best and then 21 year old - preemie - all the rules changed. Wake up every two hours and only give 2 ounces of milk. Had to have breathing treatment every 3 hours for asthma. We were tied to the house for 5 months. He weighed 3 lbs. ONLY SLEEP ON BACK.
  14. TabbyCat, I am sorry, I don't know what I did, my reply about the AC and the leash was not supposed to be added to your post. I obviously pushed the wrong button. I am so mad about the vicious dogs I am seeing red!
  15. didn't read all the replies, but in case no one told you, go to whitepages.com and at the top of the page there is a choice for reverse phone number - just click on it and enter the # If it is a cell phone it will only tell you that the provider is so and so and not tell you who the # belongs to. good luck!
  16. Take a lot of kleenex. My son's was last year and I did ok until they presented the white coats and I lost it. It really hit me what it all meant. Congratulations! It is a big moment!
  17. I am a paralegal, just not in the field you need.
  18. Mine all are grown and some days I wish all four of them were little again, then I hear your pain and wonder what the heck am I thinking. I have a soon to be 2 year old granddaughter and her mom told me that she doesn't remember what going to the bathroom by herself is like. It is almost like you have grown another limb on your torso. Hang in there - they do grow up, but it is true, your life will never be the same again! In the long run - they are worth it all.
  19. I saw Dr. Sayeed - the only thing I didn't like was there seemed to be no joy in the office. No one ever laughed or even smiled very much. I know there are sick people there, but it does cheer some sick people (me for instance) up when you smile at them and make them feel welcome!
  20. I hate the verdict, but I have to believe that the "real" judge, whom I pray to, knows who did it and will punish accordingly.
  21. When your son is older, in the grand scheme of things, this time will only be like a minute out of the entire time you have spent with him. I have grown sons and the things I thought would really impact them when they were younger, did not even leave a blip on their radar screen. Kids are amazing in everything thing they do and every thought they have. I don't believe we give them enough credit.
  22. I am so guilty of same thing. I found the perfect solution. My key is very expensive to make also because of the chip. So the last time I had to call a locksmith - he made me a key which will only unlock the door. It will not start the car. I keep it in one of those magnetic cases under my car. Since it will not start the car, even if someone were to get it, they could not steal my car. It only cost me 10.00 for the key. The locksmith visit is a whole other story -- $$.
  23. Yes his name is actually born. His mom used to teach at EPHS. I helped with Little Miss Raider and she entered her daughter. Her daughter's name is "America".
