to the doctor question - my son is in medical school and he is doing very well. He puts in a lot of time studying and misses a lot of activities with his 2 year old daughter. He knows what he is doing will give him and his family a bright future and he does love what he is doing. But what it boils down to: the student who passes with the lowest grades is also a doctor as opposed to the student who passes with the highest grades. If only we could ask a doctor about his grades in medical school!!! But then again to get in medical school you pretty much have to be smarter than the average b

My son got the same thing one time (about 8 years ago). Apparently he was watching the fight and was told to stay which he did. Then he and several others got ISS (in-school) because they were "watching" instead of going about their business.

Talking to kids about family history of disease.

It seems to me that a child/teenager may be more concerned and scared about things they don't know than what they do. If they know, they can deal with it and ask questions if they need to. The unknown can frighten a person badly. -
Even if you don't receive any income for that week, if you are officially employed and you claim 0 income because your pay is held out for a week or so, you can get in trouble and have to pay back. It (innocently) happened to my son. He was young and honestly didn't know to check the rules. He worked one day (Friday) of a new job but didn't claim it because he didn't get paid until the next week and he got a nasty letter from Unemploy. Office threatening him. He did have to repay it.

Gwen was great! If Angie is the one I think she is - she was also great. (Is Angie the soldier?)

Congratulations! She is really beautiful! I have a 2-1/2 year old granddaughter. Every phase she goes through, I think she can't be more beautiful or sweet! Always wrong! She just keeps getting prettier and sweeter! Just wait, the joy is endless!!!!!

All the Pcom ladies who said they were sick during
drl429 replied to Gipper Girl Rocks's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I have to disagree with the "boys" part. I had 4 of them and I was sick all day all 9 months with all 4 of them. In 4 pregnancies, I gained a total of 11 lbs. and 8 of those was with my fourth son. I developed pre-eclampsia and my kidneys started failing - that is why I gained the 8 lbs. I was very afraid there would be something wrong with my babies because of my sickness, but they are all wonderfully healthy. I really think it just depends on your hormones and all that technical stuff. -
My son had to be taken 7-1/2 weeks early and weighed only 3 lbs. 15 ozs. By the grace of God, his lungs were fine. I was experiencing pre-eclampsia and because of my condition, he couldn't get everything he needed from me. My doctor said when that happens the baby's lung have a way of developing faster to compensate. Try not to worry! Praying for you all.

I look at all these shoes and I see broken ankles - mine!

And women who are sick and are responsible for children tend to hurt and stress more because they still try to take care of those kids. A woman never can get sick and just be sick. There is always a load of problems to solve involving meals, kids and etc. Dealing with those issues makes your pain greater!

Most women have to function even when their headache is so bad lights and sounds kill them, not to mention upchucking! There are headaches which will literally knock you down and out. I wonder if men have those kind of headaches. I don't think my husband ever has.

First Grader issue with writing letters backwards
drl429 replied to its mr sarcastic to you's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Two of my four sons had the same problem. My pediatrician said it was very common in children that age and he even said something about their eyesight was not quite 20/20 at that age. He said wait it out unless there were other problems and it would fix itself. He was right! That was 15 years ago! -
The P grocery store on E Paulding Drive - My son was going to prom and I ordered a wrist corsage for his girlfriend from a florist in downtown Dallas. I specified tea roses because the girl is a very small boned girl. When we picked the corsage up, it was very big and ugly. It was too large even for my son's arm. We had little time so I stopped at the P to look for tea roses. Not only did they have some, but a very sweet lady in the floral dept - (she was only filling in for someone else, she was actually a manager of another dept) took one look at the corsage I took in with me and said sh

I also live in Lost Meadows and most of the kids in our subdivision, specially the middle school aged, walk down the middle of the road, play with balls at the bus stops and jump out in front of cars while going after the balls and in general don't pay any attention to traffic. I sometimes have to wait to turn in my driveway because teenagers will be in front of my driveway just goofing around and don't have the respect to get out of the way. I have even seen elementary school aged children sitting on the curb with their feet out in the street. These kids are tiny and very hard to see if

Use a jar of barbecue sauce and grape jelly. If a whole jar of barbecue sauce looks like to much, then just use 1/2 or 3/4 jar. You want the meatballs to be covered with sauce. Just cook away. I usually try to stir the barbecue sauce and grape jelly together first then pour over meatballs. Jelly does not have to be uniform and totally mixed in well. It will soften up as it cooks.
