  1. Yep. Think it's time to turn flashblock back on. Hate it, I was beginning to get use to the ads again.
  2. Only one I know of is the Carmike next to Slopes.
  3. Unfortunately, my company writes internal websites to non-standard code in IE6 that won't work in IE8, so we are stuck at IE6. With the wonderful speed of our testing program, we will see this critical update in about two weeks. Gotta love IT departments...
  4. Partial blame for this one lies with the insurance companies. Each year they push for higher and higher discounts so they can show their customers what a good job they are doing on containing costs. So what ends up happening is that the medical firms end up raising their prices up some so they can take it back off as a concession to the insurance company. My company used to do it all the time. Our "List Price" was so jacked up that any company would get a great "discount" when we bid a job. The big companies were so impressed when we gave them 55% off of list. <Not> Unfortu
  5. Yep. Within my church, if you are going to work with children/youth, you have to take a class on child abuse each year. While 2/3 of the class is on recognizing the signs of neglect or abuse, the other third is on procedures to protect yourself from accusations. I.e. Never be alone in closed room with a child, never offer to take a child home unless there is another adult going (note that is should be a non-related adult, Husband/Wife doesn't count), don't enter the bathroom to assist a child without multiple adults, etc. It's sad in a way, but it does protect both the children and the adult
  6. Airplane and 40 hours of lessons the week it showed up. Extra 300 would be nice.
  7. Ouch, letting the magic smoke out is usually expensive. Good luck with that one.
  8. Does have a familiar ring to it doesn't it?
  9. Well, since Richardson couldn't vote anyway due to being speaker, it's not a big change for us...
  10. Stupid thing is you can claim the bag as a "carry on" until you get to the plane then gate check it for free. Talked with a flight attendant about this charge and have to wonder if whatever income they get from this fee is worth it when you have a 30 million dollar plane sitting at the gate for 20 minutes for the bags to resorted. The attendants seem to agree it's stupid. Guess I'll start carrying my bag to the gate and then "volunteer" to have it gate checked.
  11. You can know what you are doing and try to be careful all the time, but just have a brain stall. Had a friend that had been around guns his entire life and quite often went to the range there. But one day... After a session of firing his new automatic, he didn't notice that the action didn't lock back on an empty chamber. It was the last shoot of the day, so he turned and started to place the gun in the box. As I understand it, the trigger on that pistol does not come back forward unless the gun is cocked. Because of this, the custom box had an bumper that came up into the trigger are
  12. Here are some helpful tips to help her on the way to a beautiful lawn: Good luck!!
  13. Interesting. Found this on the Ga Lottery site: I wonder if they really expect to get more money from this? Wouldn't people just play the game with the highest jackpot?
  14. Dunno what all the complaining is about... this is a typical winter I remember from my youth here. We've just had it really warm the last 10 years.
  15. <sigh> In cases like this, the counties just can't win. Last night, one of our TV "news" teams was doing a big report on a hill in Cobb county that didn't get sanded/salted for 12 hours after the storm. Big whup de do about why the county never came. But if the county purchased a fleet of 50 sand/salt trucks so they could react within 12 hours to salt every road (raising the millage rate to pay for it) I'm sure two years later the big news story will be about the wastefulness of the county is having this fleet of 50 brand new trucks sitting there that hadn't had to be used i
  16. I was 11 and lived in Kennesaw. All I remember is Dad being worried about all the pine trees around the house, they were really loaded. One pine in the empty lot next to us did end up getting pulled up by the roots. It didn't make it totally to the ground and we climbed all over it for weeks. Don't remember losing power in that one.
  17. You need to find out where they are coming in and coat that path. Watch them for a while and see where they are appearing and try to trace them back to the opening. Baits will work if you put them in non-sprayed areas (spray prevents them from finding bait) but can take up to a week or so to work. Good luck.
  18. I always heard it was colder than an well digger's butt.
  19. I used to work at a Radio Shack in the mid-80's during the VCR boom times. It was amazing what kids would shove into the "magic slot" of their VCR. I got to be an expert on packing VCRs to send to the repair center. *** Note to self: Turn Wii around when friends with very small children or grandchildren are visiting ****
  20. My son's 1995 Grand am had to be towed for the third time since July and I am calling it quits on repairing it again. He's replaced it with a newer car, but now I have to get rid of the carcass in the front yard. I'm trying to decide whether to try to sell it for parts or just get rid of it. It has a two year old factory transmission on it I paid over 2K for and new tires he just put on in April, so I'm hoping to get something out of it. I'm wondering if anyone here might have used one of the services mentioned in the title and how much they paid if you did. Thanks! SG
  21. Kids had to have IPODs for Christmas this year, so I'm just learning itunes myself. Hope you find a solution, but I'll keep it in mind not to let them create new accounts. Cheers!
  22. I like the way you think MD...
  23. That thin intense line looks wild. I haven't seen a radar return like that before that I can remember.
  24. Power blipped a few times in North Paulding during our Christmas Eve Family get together tonight, but came back on. Could be a tree on the lines or an accident involving a power pole in the rain are most likely. Thanks Greystone linesmen, for being there tonight. SG PS: Hi Dr. Phil... hadn't seen you on here for a while!!
  25. My wife has only seen me a few times without mine and comments that I'm wayyyyy to baby faced without it. SG
