My DD got her's at 14. We had planned to get it at 15, when she entered the 9th grade and played high school sports. She and my son ended up at different schools due to the way the started North Paulding, so it was very possible we'd not be able to make a game and wanted to keep in touch. The year early was due to us renewing the cell phone contracts and me wanting to keep them all in sync. Before she got it, she was about the last on her travel soccer team to get one, and my normal answer to "But all my friends have one!!" was "Cool!! you'd have no problem borrowing one then.

I woke up that way one Sunday morning 5 or 6 years ago, it was a slipped disk in my back. I had somehow pushed it out of place during the night. When ever I tried to sit up, it felt like a knife was scraping the bone. After weeks of therapy, I was able to push it back into place without surgery thank goodness.

You too? My wife wasn't thrilled with my Blueray with Netflix purchase until she discovered those old movies on Netflix could be downloaded to the TV. Now I can barely get Pcom to load during the day for her watching movies. Thank goodness ATT doesn't charge by the GigiByte of downloads, I'd be broke!!

To give the BOE some credit, the National Weather Service forcasting for this has been a joke. When I got up this morning the official forcast showed 1/2" by late in afternoon. An hour and a half later, they've changed it again to 1 to 2". The Board was given heck a couple of years ago when they cancelled school for the forcasted storm that never showed up, just like two weeks ago, just what are they supposed to do when the forcasts themselves are crap?

I've halfway expected it. My Wife's Grandmother used to say if you snow lasted more than 3 days, there was more coming. I still had snow from the last storm left a week later...

I like the comment under the article: Besides, judged events are *always* going to have discrepancies. Remember "9.7, 9.3, 9.5 and 7.3 from the West German Judge"

"Last Chance for snow???" Yea, right, if I remember, the Blizzard of 93 was March 12-14th, so I figure we have at least two more weeks of wondering about snow. Just pity the poor teachers, having the kids in class with snow coming down on Tuesday, even with no chance of it sticking, will drive them crazy.

OK, I don't know the game real well, will the penalty be carried over to the second period?

Dang!! The Fins are having a baaaaddd day.

Thanks for the tip, just turned it on. GOAL!!!

Besides, tuition is only part of the story. My son goes to Kennesaw, the bloody fees are almost as much as the tuition now. It Crazy.

I'd bet that after the county gets the power bills for air conditioning all of the schools in the county in July, "Cost Savings" is not the word that would be used for year round school... On the original topic, this sounds like another "Screw the teachers and admin" savings plan. I'm assuming that the 10 days that the school year would be reduced would be changed into non-payed days. So the teachers would be working the same number of hours, just getting 10 days less pay for it. I don't hear about the state expanding the hours of any other state agency to make up for furlough days.

I posted this in the other thread: I wonder if this would make people leery of using early voting in the future? I doubt it will for me. One interesting affect of early voting seems to be to reduce the effectiveness of political opponents trying to drop "dirty laundry" type stories a few days before an election. They now have to make a choice: Do they drop the story before early voting starts and give the opponent time to respond or do they wait until just before election day and lose the chance to change the minds of those who early vote? Also, an early release of the story would also

No, while they do a great service, it's a Pandora's box. It's kinda like the property tax exemptions we have now. Huge hunks of private property either are not taxed or pay a reduced rate of property tax and more get added by amendment every year. Sure it sounds good, but remember the money has to come from somewhere, that means you and me that don't have an exemption. <off topic> Come to think of it, dang, if they revoked all those special exceptions we have now, I wonder if *that* would balance the budget? </off topic> Anyway, adding income tax exemptions in our current

Feel lucky. When I had an accident in North Carolina, the fine was zero, but the court costs were $50 a ticket. -
Taken Friday Night around midnight of the neighbor's security light on the snow. (about a six second exposure) Some of our feathered freeloaders.

After the freeze a few weeks ago, my wife and I decided to get a feeder. We filled it several times on Friday and Saturday. Some Pics from Friday/Saturday: A few more: And last:

Well, looks to me if this sucker does start to make it's left turn pretty quick, we won't see much more than a few flurries... Disappointed again.

Current forcasts: Cartersville - Less than an inch Dallas - 1-2 inches Douglasville, 1-3 inches Looks like we are right on the edge, won't take much of a course change to either plunge us right in the middle of it or miss us completely. Gotta love snow in Georgia...

I figured it would have to be county sponsored collection. Thanks Cpl Gurley ...

Unless it's heavy enough to kill the internet connection, when you work from home, weekday snow is wasted snow....

I sold one about 21 years ago, but all I remember about it was that I ended up handing the buyer the mobile home and $8000 of our savings to take it off my hands. It was not a good investment. I agree, an agent would be your best bet to check it out.
