  1. Is the message from AVG? If so, does it have a repair option? If it does, let it do it's thing and get rid of the problem.
  2. Uh - take a look again -->> BP = British Petroleum. Other nations ARE drilling off our coasts. BP Website
  3. Wow, I did not know that! I'm going to have to look into that, thanks!
  4. Unfortunately something we're seeing more and more of as the news outlets try to cut back and let just anyone write their stories.
  5. If they were under-billed, then I would think they owe it, however, to ask for it in one fell swoop is insane. Let's see, since 2005 is 5 years, so how about paying it in interest free payments over the NEXT 5 years. After all, it isn't their fault. Edit: OK, they don't say it, but it implies they have gotten a bill for zero dollars since 2005. If that is the case and they didn't track it down, then yes, they are idiots and need to cough it up.
  6. I saw at lunch that Cedarcrest NB is closed at Harmony Grove Church Rd. Glad to see it's not a fatal accident as I feared. That is a curvy road.
  7. Yea! That burns me up, I hate people who have a new truck and think they deserve two parking spaces!!!! Besides that's a handicap space, I wonder if they have a handicap tag? Oh wait... Nevermind...
  8. and here: Volunteer Census worker charged with burglary and rape in Indiana I believe I'm feeling better about filling out the short form... I can tell my wife to leave the door shut on any "census worker".
  9. I find the flash in the ads can really slow it down. What happened to plain ol' jpgs? I hate flash.
  10. Yea, I know the feeling. My brother heads their for another year tour sometime this fall. (He's already had a year in Iraq)
  11. First time I've read an explanation of what they think happened: Source Sadly, looks like ice crystals are clogging up the dome. Deep Sea Ice Crystals stymie gulf oil leak fix
  12. Interesting article on the "Subsea Oil recovery system", the "dome" we've been hearing about. Subsea Oil Recovery
  13. If TBAR was still on I'm sure he'd tell you it's a coppermouthwaterrattler. In all seriousness, clear out any leaves from around the play area and any limb piles or rock piles that will encourage the snakes to come around that area and they should move on.
  14. It appears it was pretty small from the leaves in the photo, so being young I'm not sure the skin pattern is fixed yet. It kinda looks like a non-viper Pine snake. Pine Snake Dang it, GT beat me to it. Picture of the head will help tell if it's a pit viper or not.
  15. <Sigh> The issue we've been fighting against is that the developers already got to the impact fee law that is on the books. It has so many limitations and directives as to make it about worthless. Cherokee county is the only one I know of that has tried to make it work. As I recall, it's been several years since I looked at it, during the bond battle, but it requires the BOE/BOC to carve the county up into revenue areas and impact fees from one area can't be used in another. Sounds good right? Not in the case of the BOE, it means that impact fees raised by new homes built nex
  16. Ok, just read the propaganda sheet the county put out and would like some answers/changes before I can vote for it: 1.16% for Fiber Optic - The last SPLOST was limited to $90,000,000 collected, lets assume this one is the same, 1.16% will be just over a million tax dollars ($1,044,000) spent on this "Economic Development Fiber Optic Network" or as I call it a "boondoggle". Let's see, the City of Marietta tried building a network *during the boom years* and yet still ended up selling the network at a loss. Tangled up in Fiber So they think this is a good idea now in a *reces
  17. It seems with the description shown that I will vote 'NO' at least the first time it comes up. Parks and Recreation can't take care of what we have now and they want to add more work for them to do? Smells like a millage increase to increase their operations budget would be forthcoming. Also, remember the Fire tax we got lied to about by Jerry and Company authorized up to *6 mils* of tax, only 2 are being used now. The SPLOST will build the new stations, but firefighters have to be hired to man them and I expect that tax rate will have to go to 3 mils soon, if not more. I don't
  18. :D Sounds like this line often heard in my family: "We never do what I want to do!!" I am forever trying to explain this to my three kids that if we treat everyone equally, they *still* will only get it their way 20% of the time.
  19. What booster are you using? I tried a couple, but saw no improvement to the signal strength. Maybe I got a set of bad ones. I'm thinking of just putting one of those huge antennas in the attic and being done with it.
  20. This power point slide was part of a presentation to simply explain the conditions in Afghanistan: Good to see the government is catching up with my company in the use of powerpoint instead of getting real work done... A few more years and we might even be safe from Congress... Original Article about Baffled Generals
  21. I just had a double parking pad poured a couple of weeks ago and it was $2000. It was an odd shape, but about 7 1/2 yards of Concrete. (approx 4" thick) That did not include gravel (needed if the ground you want to put it on is not compacted enough to put the concrete directly on it) nor did it include wire reinforcing. They dug out the area, built the forms, tractored the concrete from the truck on the road to the pad (to keep the truck off the existing driveway and breaking it up into gravel... very important), and finished it to a broom finish. Doubt you'll find it much
  22. LOL! - I guess we are both conspiracy theorists then...
  23. Sorry about your Ex's loss... I just hope it was an accident, and not sabotage by some extremist upset about the possibility of drilling the Atlantic coast. It just seems very coincidental that this occurs within weeks of the announcement. Dang, I'm wondering if I'm just becoming a conspiracy theorist.
  24. Yea, deadly traps are a definite no-no, you must be there to be threatened enough for deadly force to be legal to use.
  25. We use the western parkway all the time to get from Dallas to Taylor Farm Park for Games/Practice. Before the parkway, there was no real alternative to going all the way to the 278/92 interchange and using 92 to get there. In that sense, it does prevent us having to add to the traffic at the 278/92 interchange. 120 provides the same advantage going to 92 north when heading east on 278 out of Dallas. I suspect that this new road will provide the same type of benefit, i.e. reducing left turns at the 278/92 interchange for traffic wanting to head south on 92 when coming west on 278.
