The problem with that is that there are great hunks of the country that cost much more than they bring in. Private companies won't want to cover that. The Postal service has a mandate to deliver to just about *everyone*, even the rancher way the heck out in the middle of nowhere. Unless you can force that mandate on a private company, it won't work. Now, with the reduction in volume, I wouldn't have a problem with bringing delivery down to 4 days a week. Say, Mon/Tue Thur/Fri. Have the offices open 5 days a week, (Open Sat closed Wed). Kills a huge hunk of cost right there with

Haven't seen one yet... which reminds me, I need to change the feeder today.

Neighbor up the street in Windrift reported they saw some, we haven't noticed it if we do.

Ok, this isn't *real* old, but let's see who remembers this bridge and sign.... Where is it and when... Hey, if we can't shoot *from* the bridge, then we'll shoot, *at* the bridge!! When I saw that sign, I knew I was in my new home.

I believe mine was the short form, about six pages mainly asking name/age of people here. I've heard, the long form is supposed to ask all kinds of nosey questions, but haven't seen one. -
I'm sorry, it's my fault. I fertilized the yard a few weeks ago to take advantage of the rain and... *poof*, no more rain. Glad I didn't put out the grass seed yet, we'd go straight to drought! I guess I'm cursed to have a weed filled front yard. I keep expanding the islands to cover the dead spots, it took 61 bails of pine straw this year to do the islands. I'm not sure I can afford to expand them much more.

Sounds like Carpenter bees rather than bumble bees, they can seem very curious. They will also drill 1/2" holes in all kinds of wood in your house for their nests. Spring is open season on them at our house. Tennis rackets are my weapon of choice, however, there are those in the family that sneer at such weapons as the nuclear option, and prefer baseball bats.

My Grandparents lived in Orlando when i was kid and we went down one week when there was an Apollo launch. As it cleared the pad, we looked out the picture window that faced East and saw the flames climbing into the sky 50 miles away. Since then it has always stuck with me the power of those things. Seeing it up close must be awesome. Good luck and clear skies!

Agree totally. I screwed up my Paypal subscripton and ended up with double subscriptions when I upgraded my membership in the middle of year and it took three years (and a lot of help from Pubby)for me to finally figure out what I'd done wrong and get it fixed. Pubby was great to work with every year. Thanks Pubby!

Gonna have to get a new liner put in first... Waited too late to close it and then tore a huge hole in the bottom trying to get the wedding steps out without getting in the pool to unload the rocks. Dang.

Congrats!! My wife got one as her surprise gift for Christmas, she bakes a lot and loves it! However, we second the recommendation to take it *slow* and *low*. First cake my wife made took 50% more flour than normal because she poured it in while running on medium... It took an hour to get the flour off the floor, walls, cabinets, etc. Good luck! -
We got the short form and I filled it out today. I figure no one should be moving in or out before tomorrow, so I should be safe from the fines for incorrect information.

In California, it's legal to split lanes with a cycle. CHP FAQ -
I've always found the people at Dallas Tire very helpful, even when minimal or no money for themselves is involved. They've been as helpful when I needed a tire moved from a damaged rim to a new one or getting a lawn tractor tire replaced as when I was getting 4 tires and the works on my van. I've also been very happy at Wild Bird Unlimited at Crossroads (about to move to Seven Hills). I decided to get a feeder for the backyard a few months ago and the people there were very helpful and patient as I worked through what I wanted to get. My wife just loves watching all the birds at the fee

Still say they need to revoke the hundreds of property tax exemptions they've added onto the constitution over the last 20 years... For all of you that voted for all those exemptions... welcome to your payback.

Suntrust is next to worthless if you need a loan. The only way they loan money is if you can prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that you don't need the money and just want to pay them interest for the fun of it.

I would think it would have to be different depending on where you live also. I found this quote: So someone making $45K could be middle class here, but be in the working poor in LA or NYC. It's all a game. We *all* want to feel we're "middle class". Face it, with the society we have now, except for maybe a few super rich, it's almost like we're all working poor...just at different levels.

Wow. What a mess!! -
Looks like my company is sending to New Jersey for work on Spring Break. Yaa hoo. But it is a job, I'm not complaining too much.

If you don't mind a slight refinish of the wall, the best way I found was using one of the little tools that punches hundreds of little holes in the wallpaper, then use a sprayer to soak it down with the water/glue dissolve stuff from HD or Lowes. Soak it several times at 5 to 10 minute intervals and sometimes the paper will begin to fall off on it's own, others we had to pull some, but it was pretty easy, at least it did for us when we cleared our last kitchen. YMMV. The tool does end up leaving lots of little tiny indentions in the wall where it got through the paper, so I would then

Yep, accidents can happen to anyone. My father in law blew a hole in the floor of their house clearing his 30-06 one day after a day's hunting. However, the safety rules still helped because he was pointing it *down* when he pulled the trigger after he thought he had cleared all the bullets from the magazine. This was after 30 years of hunting.

That's what I'm wondering. Besides, they have the one line repeated in 10 different languages, but what about the letter itself? Are only English speakers stupid enough to need the letter? Not a lot of common sense being used here.
-
The letter just says that we'll get a Census form in the mail in a week. I'm wondering if this is a general mailing (costing a mint I'm sure) or if this means we've been selected for the long form. Did everyone get one?
-
Yep, 25 Years on August 17th. Both my Parents and her parents are both over the 50th mark. We had nice celebrations for both of them, for that was quite an achievement.

Nope they don't. My DD used 8 minutes talk time last month with 4303 text messages. It seems that talk is too limiting. I've watched her have 4 simultaneous text conversations at once. Can't do that while talking.
