  1. Yup, Maytag Atlantis here sitting in garage waiting on scrap run with corroded and gone main bearings for tub/agitator that got to where it'd leak gallons and not spin. Price of parts and tools to tackle that were half the price of a new warsher.
  2. If you're talking about the hill going into Hiram, heading eastbound, where it's 55 at the top, then 45 at the bottom there's a reason for that. At one time going back quite a few years the section of 278 past the Hwy 120/B. Carruth Pkwy intersection was 65 MPH. Which wasn't going to work the more that area built up somewhat between the 120 intersection and 61 intersection, so the speed limit was dropped back down to 55 for that section until you get outside the west limits of Dallas. So the sign for 55 mph was actually a "drop down" in speed if you were heading east and going towards Hira
  3. I'm no help here other than back when I lived in Florida I remember watching them put in pools that came in on the back of a Flat Bed tractor trailer truck. It'd be followed by a crane who'd pick the pool up, swing it up over the house (all one stories where I was at) and drop them in the hole in the back of the house. Then the landscape guys would show up and work like crazy and finish the pool area. The next day the aluminum guys would show up and cover the pool areas with framing that had plexi-glass overhead and screening around it. Cos where I was at there were too many critters attracted
  4. My moms neighbor planted some years ago, he kept it under control and trimmed down so it stayed a bush, then about 12 years back, he moved. New folks that moved in didn't do yard work and let the yard run riot, then they moved out in 07 and no one has lived in the house since. The wisteria invaded my moms property, and for the past 7 years we have fought that crap. I mean it's been an all out literal war. It's only pretty for about a month out of the year, otherwise it's extremely invasive and will strangle out everything else in an area, including trees. The vine base will get
  5. While technically, when diagnosed with such, a person does NOT have something. But more and more of these pre type diagnoses are being made these days because of advances in medical information. Mainly because enough studies and history now exist that they can point to certain markers and thresholds in your body that show again and again that a person is heading for a full blown condition. With Dana's DH specifically he can actually, with radical lifestyle altering, actually avoid coming down with Type II diabetes. This is more in line with the prevention mentality we all want from the med
  6. Drive a car. Use a gas pump. Go to a Dr. Change an incandescent light-bulb. Eat seafood. Vote. Drink clean water that comes from a faucet.
  7. Go Here and pick which browser you use, as it's a different process for each one.
  8. Same thing for me last June. 4-5 hour wait in a packed house with a line out the door and across the parking lot by noon in the middle of the week. Anyone else here remember when you could go into a Kroger for renewals? I think that was in the 90's and it took all of 3 minutes.
  9. In winter of 1996 I worked on a house here in Dallas where two sisters, in their late 80s, lived next door to one another, and both used coal stoves to heat the homes they lived in. They had to have coal delivered by a supplier located in Atlanta who'd dump it between the houses. One of the things they had me doing while working on one of the homes was bring in buckets of coal to both homes. For the record I was there replacing frozen busted pipes, and only the living rooms, where the heaters were were warm, the rest of the house was absolutely freezing, so about every two hours I was able
  10. Here's the story on the Dam failure at Willow Springs lake. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NP9L8qXacBg
  11. Back before they stopped things like Farmer John beating the snot out of kids he caught on his property and then send them home where their parents would beat the snot out of them as well for getting the snot beat out of them previously. That's not to say that folks were actually more polite but you sure as hell pretended to be less you get the tar whupped out of you, whereas your only recourse was to take into consideration why that happened and what you could do to not provoke it again.
  12. I wasn't trying to be flippant in my earlier response, it's just that there's not much a person can do when this happens, and worrying over it is no help at all. There's just so many different ways the number could have been gotten a hold of, it's hard to point at a single thing. It could be that the hotel chain's software/server stuff was unsecure, it could be that something on their computer keylogged the into and passed it on, it could be one of the employees at this place happened to write it down and sold it online for a "finders" fee, or it could be an employee directly in the place
  13. I ain't even gonna mention who does my back, crack, and sac, otherwise I'll never get in an appointment 'afore banana hammock season is here.
  14. Maybe this will help you understand:
  15. It's usually stated outright when hiring that they'll only attempt to serve X number of times when you contract them. If someone is taking the paperwork from the server and signing for it then that is considered an attempt. If the person taking the paperwork is not the person who's supposed to be served then the court considered the person the paperwork is meant for has not been served.
  16. I don't understand why the need for anyone to call the Sheriff's dept, QVC, T-Mobile. These companies where said money was spent have their own investigation departments and are not under any obligation to share any other information with you. The credit card companies handle all this from the point you dispute the charges. Once you do so they issue a new card and that's that, you're free to go on with what you're doing and not worry about anything. Just make a reservation with a different hotel place for piece of mind. If you're expecting to get the satisfaction of someone being lo
  17. You know I got the point where I read this; and suddenly, for some reason I expected to be reading; Which funnily enough would kinda fit the entire topic.. But to not ignore what the actual topic is about this might be the point where I may or may not admit working for a certain insurance guy in the mid-90's who may or may not have excitedly let slip that it had come down from on high he was going to be the next commissioner of this here county. He may or may not have blabbered about how he was going to blow the doors off by wanting to see some major, yet fast, loca
  18. Go treat yourself to an airboat ride. It's like flying on top of the water.. gator noggins, grass, tall grass, dirt.. yeah they go pretty much everywhere, and it's an odd feeling when you're zipping along in one direction and the boat suddenly turns 90 degrees to where you're now zipping along sideways... Oh and BTW, I do believe they were filming exterior shots of the new hospital as there was not only a guy controlling it standing in the parking lot, but another guy was with him using a portable video setup, and I heard him say "Yeah that's good, I think we've got all we need now".
  19. Just because a state legalizes medial use, it still prevents companies from working with the product in order to make better medicines. The thing I've been reading up on lately is that with the recreational bill passing in Colorado and it going live it's opened the door for start-up companies to work on better extraction and medical application methods with the drugs, and these small start-ups now stand to rake in BILLIONS which will in turn make the state more money, give folks more jobs, and help those with specific ailments. They're currently working on medicines that aren't synthes
  20. Glad you're okay, and it's much more than sad, it's terrifying at times and becoming more of an issue. See the post I made Here, about my most recent experience coming down Hwy 120 going west, which really started at the 92 intersection with him trying to stay sitting straddling the middle line for the entire ride towards Hiram Sudie. I see folks constantly bitching about "drivers in passing lane not getting out the way" and I have to wonder what times of day they drive, cos when I'm on the road it's always always in packed traffic with no-where to really ever go and dozens of folks in
  21. It was actually pretty neat seeing this, it was just sitting in one spot hovering, and sounded like a nest of pissed off hornets.
  22. Btw, I can't vouch for the place but this is the only Local place google brings up: Catfish Jim's in Kennesaw
