Goodness, this has me a bit shocked. I am friends of the family and I hadn't heard anything about this. Okay, I didn't think I was going crazy. My mom lives near there and I just called her and she said there is definitely a smoky haze around her house at the moment but she said it just smells like leaves burning.

Do brush fires make black smoke and smell of plastic burning, because that was very distinct. I pretty much figured it was a house or building on fire.

I just came through Hwy 120 and Hwy 92 intersection about 10 minutes ago and could hardly see. Black smoke was pouring through the trees and coming across 120 to the west of the intersection.
