Anybody remember the Barker's Dogs cart in what used to be Central City Park in downtown Atlanta? They had business people in suits in line forever. I think they now have had a place in the strip at Windy Hill and Powers Ferry that I never tried. Anyway, when my hubby and I used to work "downtown" we would go once in a while with coworkers and enjoy the aroma and eat them - not the coworkers, but the Barker's Dogs...

We ate at that place once (the one mentioned in the original topic). We both said that for an average hotdog and a pile of fries that we could do better at home, we'd not go back, and we never did. Especially for the price. We figured it wouldn't make it. I don't think it's the location, it's the quality. Martino's sucked and we weren't impressed with that place either. And the burger place in the strip mall area behind them, which may have lasted months was also overpriced for a really average burger.

A meat and cheese tray from Publix/Kroger etc. Rolls, sandwich bread, chips and prepackaged salad. Grapes/apples etc. Tuna pasta salad or chicken salad. Donuts, coffee cake. -
About to make sure I've got candles, flashlights and make sure the weather radio is working. Broadcast from the Weather Channel (live) are pretty scary. Parts of MS are getting slammed and it's moving in to AL. Take care folks, be prepared and please that in addition to all your human family members are safe that the fur babies are safe too.

Now that makes you want a steak, right? Thinking about going to The Steak House in Rockmart. Online I'm seeing mixed reviews. Anyone with any experiences/opinions?

Nope, not a fan either. They are way too sweet for my tastes.

OK, how in the heck did this end up in the Animal House forum? Could a mod move this to the Internet Café?

Sister and BIL are traveling south from South Dakota and sister requested going out to eat catfish. (BIL wants to go to Waffle House while they're here, LOL). They'll only be here one full day and two nights. Any suggestions?

The one time we ate there to me it was an average hotdog for a ridiculous price. -
Does anybody remember what the name of the restaurant was before it became Ray's on the River? It was eons ago, but very good - we had several special occasion dinners there.

Are you thinking about George's? My husband and I used to eat there a good bit - they had the best steaks - we still miss it.

Lady I used to work with/for gave my son and DIL a customized Amish pottery bowl with their first names and the date of their wedding. After seeing your post, I googled around and I think if you spend more time than I did you might be able to find something. Anyway, just like the aforementioned afghan it would be personally made and something they'll remember you by.

She's still on the good ship, just on a different course. RIP Shirley, you were much loved.

And apparently Thursday and Friday. Lady moving into the office next to ours just told us that - Cobb that is.

Thanks, wondered what was going on. Hearing them here off Mt. Tabor/E Paulding Dr.

Is it impossible to just tack the make up days on to the end of the school year? Just asking, don't really have a dog in this fight.

I've been saying this for years. Very scary to think about.
