First, I started this because of all the "political" comments outside of the "political forum", and that's a good thing. I think this is too important a subject to be relegated to a forum that a lot of people shy away from for various reasons. OK, question #1 - why is Iowa so important in the beginning of a campaign? #2 - Who decided that GA was a "red" state when half of the people who have moved here - OK, we're talking North/South. #3 - My vote doesn't count because of the Electoral College - who determines that? #4 - Why in the heck is OHIO such an important decision make

There are so many loaded questions/answers here that all I can do is laugh while trying to retrieve my mind from the gutter. Voted last Monday and there was a really good turnout - Mt. Tabor.

Kind of depressing, no? But by the day or so after Christmas I'm just ready to get the house back in order. (Our house is not that big, so we have to stash furniture, etc. for the tree and all). Don't get me wrong, I love it from about Dec. 12th on, but after the Big Day...........................

Boxing up all the Halloween stuff, making sure that battery powered things are empty of batteries, trying to consolidate, etc. Just doesn't seem quite as much fun, LOL.

I'm partial to the statue of the man with no hand near the women's club that hasn't existed for decades. I keed! Although I do think it would be great if downtown Dallas could build on its charm and have more downtown restaurants, etc. What was the name of that really good Mexican restaurant that closed? It was right there on a corner downtown.

I live off Mt. Tabor, and we must have the biggest, uncaring slobs any where in the county. What the crap? Yes, I could, should stop and pick it up myself and spend at least 12 hours doing it, when it would only take a few slobs being fined no time at all to keep all their crap in their car until they get home, and then - novel idea - use a trash can!

Thanks! He did good! I've got some old pieces from the house - old front places from old coal burning fireplaces, maybe iron, I'm, not sure. Thought about selling them, but I want to clean them up first. Anyway - he did good. The place was completely falling apart - the owner was an old friend. Her husband was an old fishing buddy of my FIL's.

Why does everything on here have to be so nasty? I'm glad we live on acres of land that allow me to do whatever re the color of paint for my house. We have some neighbors that should cut thier weeds sometimes, but being a couple of acres away from them that's OK with me. If I lived in a s/d where I could reach out my hand to my neighbor every time I walked out the door I might want covenants. Personally I don't want that, but that's my choice.

I would wait until dark - 7:00 or 7:30. Let people get home from work and wait until dark when you get the full affect of Halloween. Lit pumpkins in daylight just don't quite look the same.

We're on the federal do not call list, but unfortunately that doesn't apply to political parties. OK, fine - I'm getting scam calls from who knows where. I did the reverse number thingy on google. The numbers are: (678) 601-7876 and (813) 769-0659. From what I can find these are just scammy sites. The more you know.

Made me think, re just wearing jeans. My son had some good friends years ago who showed up at the door dressed exactly that way. They were twins, and I asked them if that was what they were dressed as - Twins? Of course their answer was "yes". It was very sweet, but thankfully I knew these kids.
