  1. Super Bowl or Puppy Bowl? Which will you be watching?
  2. One of the most beautiful women of that time, along with Diana Rigg (The Avengers).
  3. But does she have a degree in meteorolgy?
  4. I didn't realize that he'd been on since before Christmas, just kept hearing the name and hoping it was him. Really good player and all us white girls in the office would agree that he had the best butt in baseball!
  5. I'm so thrilled that one of our best batters from the "Dream Team" of the early 90's is showing back up! May have to watch Fox 5 in the morning for a couple of days!
  6. I did that back in--------------1992 when I started with a downtown tax law firm. Had no idea how to drive myself in to downtown (hubby always drove before that.) Must say, there is a HUGE difference between driving on a quiet Sunday afternoon and driving in rush hour traffic. Also, back then there was absolutely nothing on 278 heading towards I-20. Just trying to play Devil's Advocate or whatever. There are pro's and cons whichever you choose. You need to also consider salary vs. cost of gas/parking,etc.
  7. My husband used to take CCT when he worked downtown - AJC main office on Marietta St. downtown. He caught the bus in front of Movies 278 in Hiram. See if you can pull up their schedule. Another issue may be your hours - will they be consistent, i.e. overtime, etc. Good luck and congrats on your new job!
  8. Who knows, my thought about the cream soups is because they're overloaded with sodium which can be a problem during and right after pregnancy. If she's breastfeeding the onions can be a problem, etc., etc. She may be under doctor's orders/suggestions.
  9. How about a baked ham that they could eat off of for a few days?
  10. So they're looking for 1/2 the male population of Paulding County?
  11. OK, stupid me, but the girl in that picture is definately not Janis Joplin Oops, my bad, just got a better look.
  12. I guess I should just be grateful for the extra protein I found in my husband's fountain drink, except for the fact that I threw the drink away. The bug was happy though! Starting to get real concerned about the great deal I got on ground chuck there today.
  13. We got the packets of kraut, but they were out of day old strong onions - at least until next week apparently. Lord knows how long they'll have to wait if they run out of ketchup and mustard. I could probably tell them which aisle they're on, but it seems they don't work that way.
  14. Oh Holy Night - Josh Groban, but even better is Michael Crawford (he starred in Phantom of the Opera). Just when you think he's done with the most difficult notes he surpasses them. And to whomever posted the link to Bing and David Bowie, thanks! That's my other all time favorite, along with a many others.
  15. I realize this is very trivial in the grand scope of things, but why do they have to wait until next week to provide chopped onions with their hotdogs at the snack bar if they sell onions in said store? Yes, I know, it's already a great deal, but it's not like you're paying extra for onions. Anyway, this inquiring mind would like to know (as someone who likes onions on my hotdog).
  16. That was my point re the dentist office - there have been several gas stations go "bust" in one way or another right next to them. And yes, the deer processing plant next to West Metro was completely open for business, and good for them! Venison is just not my thing. My FIL could cook it to the point that it didn't taste gamey, but I could always tell by the texture. To each their own.
  17. My point was that they seemed to have fencing around the building. If they are still open I will be very happy!
  18. Missionary. Oh, wait, sorry. And this topic is about what? My position on politics, my position on which books I should read, my position on current events, my position on which side of the bed I sleep on and whether I sleep on the left or right, cotton sheets, cold room, down comforter, pet at the end of the bed, The Munsters or The Addams Family, dreesing vs. stuffing?
  19. Thanks, and yes that was who I was talking about. I thought that for a while they were open on Sundays, if I'm not mistaken. Haven't seen them advertise here in a long time - just wanted to be sure they're still in business!
  20. Went by a couple of places yesterday, just riding around, and tried to go to the one and only butcher shop in town, and there was a padlock on their door. Wanted some good steaks and they were closed. Apparently I wasn't the only one. There were other people driving in as we left. I know that they used to advertise on here, and they were so good. I hope they're still around! The other one was our dentist's office. There seemed to be a chain link fence around most of it. Of course, the really pretty building has been next to several gas stations that have caught on fire, and the real
  21. 11Alive was talking this morning about a lot of restaurants that were giving deals to Veterans. Check out their website - 11AliveNews.com.
  22. Is it a lttle too weird, or is it just me, that among the other things that they have listed on one of their side of the road signs, where they have people out there waving, are "gold teeth"?
  23. THANK YOU! Tonight should be intersting, and with all the weather related events, and how close this whole thing is I'll be really surprised if we have an answer by late tonight. JMHO, but I've lived long enough to see it before.
  24. Hey Smitty! Haven't talked at you within a dog's age! I really am curious about all those questions I asked, and I personally think they're legit without being partisan. Good to see you here, and I hope you're doing well. So - back to Iowa, LOL!
