  1. Here's a link to the recipe. http://www.southernliving.com/food/kitchen-assistant/southern-cooking-recipes-00417000069475/page33.html They also have a video tutorial.
  2. I have posted the one I use on here in the past. It is from Southern Living magazine and it's called The Best Carrot Cake. It will have a recipe and instructions for buttermilk glaze. I double the icing and half the glaze on mine. I have also omitted the coconut for my hubs and it was still delicious.
  3. Aww, Thank you!! I just follow the recipe and double the icing. I ALWAYS double my icings..lol The left-over cream cheese icing from the carrot cake is perfect as a fruit dip.
  4. Scratch is WELL worth the trouble! Don't forget to double the icing though...yumm!
  5. America's Best $99 eye care club is a great deal for contact lens prescriptions, but I would check the fine print for glasses. I took both of my teens last year, one for contacts and one for the 2 pair deal because he is so rough on glasses. They said his prescription wasn't covered under the buy 2 for $69 deal and they would cost almost $200 for one pair. So I wound up having to pay for his exam and couldn't even get his prescription that day because the doctor had already left for lunch. We still use them for DD's contacts. You can't beat the cost for a contact exam. I do purchase the
  6. If Dr. Hampton is still at the WalMart on 120, I would recommend her. We used her for several years until our insurance changed. We never had any problems.
  7. Does anyone have an updated score for East/Rome?
  8. I can tell you Dr. Zamora is an excellent dentist. We recently switched our youngest 2 from pediatric to him and we have NOTHING bad to say about him, or his staff.
  9. I would also suggest trying Burlington Coat Factory, if they are still around. We bought my husband and oldest son's suits at K&G, then went to Burlington for my youngest son when we renewed our vows several years ago. Good luck!!
  10. Our daughter took Neupogen shots at home to bring her counts back up after every chemo cycle. Thankfully, we only had one hospital stay for fever and that was at the very beginning of her treatment. It is very hard to watch your child go through all of the side effects and not be able to make it all better. Thoughts and prayers for the whole family! Do you know if the family has any needs, Blondie? Feel free to PM me if you know of any. We started a non-profit after our daughter finished her treatments called "Taylor's Treasures" to help families who are struggling with the day to d
  11. I use Dr Sayeed. We have been patients of his, our whole family, for over 20 years. He doesn't have the best bedside manner anymore, but he is affordable and will get you fixed up without costing an arm and a leg. He also doesn't hand out meds when they aren't needed. I don't like taking medicine, so that is perfectly fine with me. Our office visits are $50. I'm not sure if he charges the same for established and new patients, so you want to ask first. Ohh...he seems to be a little sociable in the morning. As for Dr. Wehunt..I loved him when I was his patient as a teenager. He was n
  12. Lady, don't you let them bring you down! The thoughts and prayers of the ones who do care FAR outweigh the ones who have nothing better to do with their lives than to try and bring someone down. I'm sorry now that I didn't take the time to do more than a quick hey when I ran across you coming into Ingle's the last time. I had dinner on and had to run for a couple of items that I thought I had. Forgive me. **hugs** Keep your chin up and a smile on your face...it makes them wonder.
  13. I use a large, aluminum roasting pan and triple my recipe when I am baking one for church or a get-together.
  14. Staple's penny items, with a $5 purchase, is erasers, index cards, and ballpoint pens.
  15. If he lies and deceives me, he would no longer be my spouse.....
  16. 10 years?? These girls will be living with the affects much longer than that!! No matter what they have been/lived through prior, it just doesn't seem sufficient to me. Sick SOB..being nice... I am the mother of 4 absolutely beautiful children..stories like this hurt me physically and emotionally. Can someone call a hearse? That all that would be needed if it were one of mine...just saying.
  17. What is Pastelitos? I have a teenager who LOVES to try new things and you are very close to us!
  18. We only use Scott as well..or the store brand (Kroger or Dollar General brands only). If you want soft and cushiony, I recommend Cottonelle with Aloe and Vitamin E. My septic tank doesn't like soft and cushiony, so we stick with Scott...
  19. When we went by at around 11:30am, Clark and Fire Rescue were in the road, with 4 SD cars in the driveway. They were taping off the yard and driveway at that time. I was hoping everything was going to turn out alright, but I guess not since a hearse was there later..
  20. You know what..? I don't care WHO is running the facility, nor do I care how much smaller it is than any others, nor how bad of a job anyone thinks the parents have done on raising their children. There is absolutely NO excuse for abusing a child!! Crap like this makes me ill. I don't care whose children they are, nor how they acted to get there to begin with...NO excuse!!
  21. There used to be a guy at the Hwy 41 Flea Market who made them. I haven't been there in quite a while, so I don't know if he is still there or not.
  22. My first memory is of my Daddy rocking me and singing "El Paso" to me. It was Halloween of 72 or 73, making me either 16 months or 28 months old. I was sick and couldn't go trick or treating. My mom took my older sister out, while Daddy and I stayed home to hand out candy.
  23. http://www.perrottalaw.com/ I definitely suggest Anthony Perrotta. He is an AWESOME lawyer!!
  24. Our 2 youngest use Virgin Mobile. They get 250 mins. per month, unlimited text and web. My daughter pays $25/month. She has had her account for about 2 years so she is grandfathered in at that price My son pays $35 a month. He just got his new account in September. They both have smartphones. Nothing extravagant, just normal run of the mill smartphones. We paid $40 each for them while on sale at BestBuy.com or OfficeMax.com, can't remember which. They have better reception than Hubs and I do with Boost.
