  1. The special Easter Lifesavers! Yumm!
  2. We have used Trash Taxi since September. They are always here and on time, and almost always tip our extra can for overflow upside down beside the large can. We are just outside of New Hope.
  3. We had our last ones done at New Hope Urgent Care.
  4. LOL Daddy was a drinker, too. We have a small airplane bottle of his favorite whiskey and a small can of his favorite beer sitting on the winery that he built when I was in elementary school. He likes to move those around out of their spot on me from time to time, just because he knows it being out of place drives me nuts..haha I say it's him, because my family doesn't ever mess with the winery except me, as it has all of his personal things on it. I just laugh and tell him he better stop it or I'm going to tell Granny..LOL
  5. I definitely believe our loved ones send us messages to let us know they are still around. I, too, find dimes after cleaning something and go back and there it is. My Daddy and I were very close. I am his only biological child and he raised me. I took care of him right up until the end, and we had a lot of special talks in our time together, including the fact that he believed our loved ones could send us a message. I have two very special messages that have brought me great comfort during these last 2 years he has been gone that I will share. The first was just the day after he pas
  6. We use Trash Taxi and are very pleased with them. They offer recyling, I don't know all of the details though.
  7. We are VERY partial to Dr. Melder. He was the ENT who did our youngest daughter's neck biopsy and diagnosed her with Hodgkin's Lymphoma in 2011, she was 15. He was great with her and us. Dr. Vick took my odest daughter's tonsils out about 8 years ago. He's a wonderful doctor, as well. Both are doctors at ENT Associates of North Georgia. Pull up their website, linked in an above comment. You can read up on all of the doctor's there. Good luck!
  8. You guys are in our thoughts and prayers! Much love!! Wendy, Shane, and family.
  9. The best piece of advice I got when my Daddy was sick was to make as many precious memories as you can and make sure you will have no regrets. I totally understand the part about bring strong for others, but don't neglect yourself. I found that excusing myself and finding a quiet place to release my emotions helped greatly. Sometimes that wasn't easy as I was his care giver and he always knew when I'd been crying, but he also understood. Sometimes I'd crawl in bed with him to calm my fears, sometimes to calm his. We had some of our best talks then. =) I will have you, your Dad, and y
  10. The lady who runs Angels Among Us now helps out people who need clothing for interviews and such. Her name, I believe, is Tina and she is located on Dallas-Acworth Hwy, close to Crossroads.
  11. We noticed Best Buy in Hiram occasionally has some new scratch and dent stuff. You might try the ?Sears? appliance store as well, if it's still there. It was in the old Hollywood Video building next to the Hiram Walmart. Good luck!
  12. Wow, hubby was just there yesterday doing work on their lighting.
  13. LOL It is some work, but WELL worth it!! I love to bake from scratch, so I thoroughly enjoyed all of it.
  14. This is truly the best Carrot Cake I have ever had! Mrs. G, I don't know if I ever shared my recipe with you, or not..but here it is. =) The BEST Carrot Cake Ingredients 2 cups all-purpose flour 2 teaspoons baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon 3 large eggs $ 2 cups sugar $ 3/4 cup vegetable oil 3/4 cup buttermilk 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 2 cups grated carrot $ 1 (8-ounce) can crushed pineapple, drained 1 (3 1/2-ounce) can flaked coconut 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts Buttermilk Glaze Cream Cheese Frosting Preparation Line 3 (9-inch) round
  15. Wow. I am right here in the same area as you. I didn't notice anything, but I hope everything works out for you and you get our stuff back. BTW..being attached sentimentally to a pressure washer is not silly. That was your Dad's things. My dad has been gone 19 months yesterday and I am still very sentimental over his things. Those were things he treasured, so I feel I should as well. He didn't have much, but he worked hard for and appreciated what he did have.
  16. Halloween Trick or Treat Village October 27, 2:00 PM - 7:00 PM @ Earl Duncan Park at Paulding Meadows We want to invite the whole family to enjoy Halloween at Earl Duncan Park at Paulding Meadows. There will be candy, fun and games. From Paulding.gov website =)
  17. When we had propane, we also used Blue Flame.
  18. I was told scorpions like to eat spiders.. Whether that's true or not, I have no clue. Maybe they are trying to clear out your daddy long legs.
  19. I mix Planter's peanut butter with grape and apple jelly. I spread it thick so I can dip my sour cream and onion chips in it. =)
  20. LR, my thoughts and prayers go out to you and your Mom. I totally understand how hard this is. I took care of my Daddy during his struggles with COPD/Emphysema. We went through some of the same things you have mentioned..the loss of appetite, the pains, the extreme difficulty with the breathing and doing even the smallest things. The doctors put Daddy on steroids to help with the weight loss and the loss of appetite. They also recommended 5 or 6 smaller meals a day, instead of 3 large ones. They put him on Spiriva, which was like a miracle drug to us. He was so bad at that point and he wo
  21. My father went to Cartersville and got his going as well. Good luck!
  22. It has GOT to be La Cocina for my household. We joke that they must put crack in their food, cause I have to have it at least every other week. I prefer a fresher tasting salsa, so I get their mild salsa and mix it with their table salsa. The mild salsa has cilantro and the veggies aren't as pureed and tastes fresher, but no heat. We have eaten at the Dallas location for years and ate at the Acworth location before the Dallas one opened. We have never had any issues paying with plastic and on the rare occasion that an order got mixed up, it was immediately fixed or if it was take out, cred
  23. We say it..all the time, and I heard it growing up.I will be 40 on Monday and my Mom still gives me a bye kiss, my sister and I kiss and hug bye, my Dad would turn his cheek up for us..miss that man. My 21 yr old son will always say bye and he loves us..will go to different rooms to make sure his siblings are told as well. Often I get a bye kiss on the forehead or a hug. We are an affectionate family and none of my kids are ashamed to give me a hug or a kiss or to tell me they love me in front of who ever happens to be around. The great thing is, most of their really close friends that com
