  1. Excellent piece and the bakery looks great!
  2. Yep...it is Tuesday isn't it? It just seemed weird that so many PC Sheriff cars were in the same area circling. You never know in this area anymore. When we moved here we thought nothing of leaving the doors unlocked but with all that goes on now we lock up EVERYTHING.
  3. I am getting my hair done and watching cops driving back and forth Stopping and talking to people too? My hairdresser said she was stopped at a road block on Nebo Rd this morning too. Seems like an unusual amount of activity for a Monday morning in New. Georgia.
  4. I do really love the color but I don't understand why it had big fluffy balls on it when I bought it and in the years since only the lace. I REALLY want to purchase some that I am sure will have the big fluffy white balls that last all summer. Are those the Endless Summer variety? Do you know if they will live and produce in the sun, or do they need shade?
  5. When I bought it it had big fluffy balls. I planted it that year (probably 4 years ago) and since then it just looks like this. It might be the pruning thing because I have never really read how or when to prune one. The color is just so pretty I wish it would do what it should. Oh, it said to plant it in sun to part shade. It gets sun about 4 hours each day but the rest of the time it is shade.
  6. Can anyone tell me why my hydrangeas don't get big fluffy flowers like everyone else's?
  7. All of those kinds of shows get on my nerves. They find people with bad behaviors and reward them by giving them a "new clean home". Why can't there be a show where they find people who are working, raising families, sending kids to college, etc and reward them for being well behaved?

    Prom

I did drive mine. But there were many parents who didn't and even more who couldn't afford the limo. I just think it is ridiculous to expect the kids to drive into Atlanta for their prom. There really has to be some place that is more convient to for the kids who are not from the affluent families. That is my opinion and i think I will keep it even though I have no dog in this fight any more.

    Prom

I absolutely 100% agree that the prom should be held closer to home. When my son went 2 years ago it was in Atlanta and an hour drive from our home. Since my son didn't have a job he could not afford a limo. (I was absolutely not paying for one) My husband and I ended up driving them, dropping them off and picking them up. Luckily, he and his girlfriend were both happy with that arrangement because neither of them wanted to drive that distance on a Saturday night none the less. Many years ago when I went to my prom it was also in our school gym. We had great pride in decorating and ge
  10. I am on the third book now. i have not seen the movie though. I started reading the books when I heard about the movies coming out. Honestly, I had a haard time getting interested in the first book until I was several chapters in. Now I am enjoying the third one. I do think they are good books but not the best I have ever read. I think this puts me in the minority. Still, they are worth reading and I will probably see the movie too.
  11. Poor choice of words but I think everyone knew what was meant.
  12. I have to agree with this statement. Sometimes no matter how hard the parents try, kids do stupid things. I think they should be punished too, but charging them with a felony that will follow them for the rest of their lives seems extreme. Losing their valedictorian status and possibly their scholarships is in order.
  13. I don't know how the media determines which cases we should get mad about. I do know that the anger is most always a product of the media. Another example is the Casey Anthony case. It was plucked from thousands of missing children stories and made into a media sensation. I really wish there was a media outlet that would put out ONLY the facts of the stories so that people could make an unbiased conclusion.
  14. I don't know. I have a 19 yo and a 21 yo, both boys, still living at home while they are in college. I love them, but I am looking forward to having empty nest syndrome, if that ever happens.
  15. Both of my boys went to MS and HS here is Paulding County. For the most part I was happy with the schools they attended. They had a few problems here and there and I, being an involved parent, ran to their rescue. Now my boys are young adults and attending college and I have regrets. I wish that I had let them handle more of their problems on their own. Maybe if I had let them fail in middle or high school they would have learned how important it is to study. Maybe if I had let them stand up for themselves when they had issues with other students or teachers they would now have better prob
  16. I think the reason that many of these kids continue to do the things they do is because parents are afraid of making the situation worse for their child. It is a tough call for sure, but I think you are doing the right thing by going to the school. If it happens again or there is any retaliation you have even more ammunition to fight with. The unfortunate truth is that there is very little the school can do other than OSS and I have to agree with the person who said that is not a good punishment. It is like giving a vacation to the kids for bad behavior. Our society's quest to make life g
  17. My heart is breaking for this family. There must be no pain like losing a child.
  18. OK Girl...breath...you've got this. I had a pitocin date many years ago and I have to admit that it did create stronger, harder contractions. Here is my advice. Go on a double date with Mr. Pitocin and Mr. Epidural. Just make sure that Mr. Epidural is ready and waiting. You're gonna do great and I can't wait to see the baby pictures. BTW...April fool's Day was my grandma's birthday and there was never a better person to walk this Earth. Must be a good day to be born.
  19. This thread has been on my mind so much lately. Though I don't have any answers I have so much respect for you for trying so hard to help your son. I know how difficult it is to raise children, even when they are "typical", but when you are dealing with physical and mental problem to boot no one can do it without help. I pray you find the help you need for your son as well as the rest of your family.
  20. Good to know!!! I will keep that name handy. Happy Cooling
  21. Thanks for all the suggestions. Since I have corn meal and grits in the house I think I will put that on them this afternoon. If they are still here this weekend I will go to HD and get me some Over and Out. I HATE THEM!!! and they seem like they target all the places that I walk in the yard. They never pick some out of the way place to built their mansions.
  22. What can I use to get two large mounds of fire ants out of my backyard that will not harm my pets if they get into it? I used a waterhose and completely demolished their mounds last night but when I got up this morning they had been built back, bigger and better. I know my dog will get into whatever I put on them because she is nosey like that.
  23. This sort of behavior may require in-patient care and behavior modification therapy. I would definitely talk to a behavior specialist. During in-patient treatment the doctors are able to try multiple medication therapies as well. Trial and error medicating at home with this kind of disorder is a recipe for disaster. I have heard many good things about Willowbrook in Villa Rica. It is located very near the hospital too in case of emergencies. I think that most insurance policies will cover this as well if it is deemed medically necessary by a medical professional. I know that it is
  24. I am sure that you have talked to doctors about his behaviors. It sounds like you have tried it all. Can I ask you if he is diagnosed with any neurologic issues? I don't mean to pry or be nosey but that is the first thing that comes to my mind as I read your post. I know that autism for example can, not always, cause behavior problems.
