  1. SO these two are just sitting around one morning. She looks at him, lovingly, and says, "Honey, I think we should squirt some coffee up our butt." ??????????
  2. Hiram Center for Family Dentisty. Their specialty is "no anxiety" dentistry. Just tell them she has dental anxiety when you call. Oh and they have tv's on the ceilings!
  3. My son used to sing alan jackson's Way Down yonder on the Chattahoochee "Don't know what it is about that little gal's nugget but I like it I love it I want some more of it." He was about 3 years old too...always made me laugh.
  4. Not leaving a tip is bad but ultimately okay if the service was sub-standard. However, the snarkey remark was rude and out of line. So what if it got posted on a social site? If you don't want to be called out for being an arse, the solution is simple, don't be an arse!
  5. If the "pastor" was really remorseful for leaving that message she would take the high road, apologize and ask that the waitress not be fired. Calling someone out publicly for their bad behavior may not be the most wise choice but it should not cost the girl her job.
  6. They won;t load buses with weather warnings in effect. Keeping that in mind, the elementary schools are supposed to be out in about 30 minutes so that will likely be delayed. That will create a delay for all the buses. Parents, don't panic if your kids are late. The school do this to keep them safe.
  7. Clackers, BB guns, lawn darts...I had them all and lived to tell! It was great being a kid!
  8. It is amazing to me that a bunch of adults even have to be told not to call each other names.
  9. Wash them and put them in a pot of water. Bring it to a boil for 3 minutes. Let it set a few minutes and then drain them. Put them back in a pot (or crockpot) with the ham. Season with salt and pepper. Cook them on low for several hours. They will soften up. Take 1 cup of them out and mash them. Pour the mashed ones back in the pot and cook them an hour or so longer. The sauce will thicken. That's how I do it.
  10. My girl has been on Trifexis for 2 years now with no problems at all. When she was a puppy she was on heartguard for heatworms and frontline for fleas, but we switched to Trifexis at about 4 months old. It is a little expensive but came recommended by her vet who I trust.
  11. If I gave a shot to 100 people containing a live flu virus not everyone would get flu symptoms. It would depend on the person's health, immune system, etc. Maybe it is the same kind of thing with autism. Maybe different environmental things will trigger an individual reaction based on that person's genetic predisposition. Maybe it is vaccines for some but other triggers for others. And those without the genetic predisposition would have no issues at all.
  12. Maybe I missed something. I didn't see anyone saying that no one should be vaccinated. This is where the debate always gets cloudy. Both my kids had all their vaccinations. Did that cause any of their neurologic issues?...I don't know. I can't pinpoint it to that. What I was trying to say is that everytime a new study suggests a "possible" cause I can relate it to my kids, so it could be any of them or all of them...heck I don't know. You are very lucky to have a healthy happy 2 year old. My son was also healthy and happy at 2. He is healthy and happy at 23 as well. He just happe
  13. My son told me once that it was evolution, a natural adaptation to the new world of technology. Of course he was speaking about his personal high functining form of apsergers. I think that he is onto something. There is not as big a need for social interaction in today's technology driven world. I do think that there is a genetic component. When I was young I was painfully shy and not good at navigating socially. People who know me now would find that hard to believe. It is true though. I didn't find my voice and come into my own until I was in my 20's. Perhaps after my kids w
  14. These are the most recent autism statistics: • Autism now affects 1 in 88 children and 1 in 54 boys • Autism prevalence figures are growing • Autism is the fastest-growing serious developmental disability in the U.S. • Autism costs a family $60,000 a year on average • Autism receives less than 5% of the research funding of many less prevalent childhood diseases • Boys are nearly five times more likely than girls to have autism • There is no medical detection or cure for autism My son has aspergers syndrome (an autism spectrum disorder) and literally every theory that I ha
  15. The certification comapnies are making a fortune off of certifying people for jobs that were not certified positions before. Unfortunately many businesses (expecially medical) are hiring certified employees over experience.
  16. I know what you mean. I saw a car vs motorcycle accident 20 years ago and I can still picture it in my head. Hopefully it looked worse that it was.
  17. TP- you should know by now that I am perfectly fine with your personality. The posters who seem to follow your every move just to bully and call you names....well...they are another story. When it comes to PCom I have always just chose to read the threads that interested me. Occasionally I come across someone who irritates me so much that I find myself thinking about posting a nasty gram for them but I don't. As you well know that is called taking the high road. I just click out of that topic and move to the next. Unfortunately there are some people here that insist on driving the low r
  18. Tanner Health System required all their employees to have a flu shot this year, and I got mine. The very few who chose not to have the flu shot are required to wear a surgical mask at all times when on the Tanner property. The flu shots that are given now are not live viruses as they have been in years past so their is no risk of contracting flu fromt he vacination itself. That is one of the most frequent reasons I hear for not getting a flu shot, so now it is no longer an issue. The CDC says this is the worst flu outbreak since 2003 and the earliest ever. On a personal note, I have seen
  19. I grew up with hunting guns in the house. My brother and uncle are big hunters. We didn't have any revolvers other than on olf WW2 revolver of some sort. I always knew they were for hunting and never even thought of picking one up.
  20. If he was really interested in the safety of the children and not the money they he would be suing to have new security aids installed. Instead he is suing for more money that the school system has ensuring that they have no monies for extra security. He's a money hungry ambulance chaser!
  21. I am so proud of all the SPHS band kids!!!! They have worked so hard!!!!
  22. It's a no win situation for the teacher. He would most likely not have been supported by the school system if a parent complained. When I worked in the school system I saw this sort of situation pretty often. I have seen teachers get punched trying to intervene in a fight and then get in trouble for intervening. More often than not the school system sides with the parent because they don't want the inevitable law suit. It's a shame, but the teacher in the video probably followed procedure. Now he has to face the wrath of the parents whose child was being hurt.
  23. I think that random acts of kindness happen everyday. It just doesn't make the news. Unfortunately we seem to focus on the bad things that people do.
  24. I made those last year and got the jars and candlesticks at Hobby Lobby
  25. I have had them, a few times. I have been lucky that all of mine were small and passed relatively quickly. The longest it took was 3-4 days. I know even that is a long time when you are in pain. My pain was always tolerable. I have friends who have not been as lucky. If it becomes too painful you can always go to the doctor or hospital. There are things they can do to break it up. They won't do that unless it is causing you severe pain. You want to watch to make sure there is not any obvious blood in your urine too. If you start seeing the blood the doctors will want to know that.
