  1. We have been twice to Disney and once to Universal. The first trip to Disney we didn't stay in a Disney resort or get the meal plan. The second time we stayed in a Disney resort and did get the meal plan. I DEFINITELY recommend the Disney resort. Even their budget resorts are nicer than most of the off Disney hotels. They offer free transportation to and from all the parks too, all day long. That saves somewhere close to $20 bucks a day just in parking. Most off Disney hotels offer shuttles to the parks also but they are usually scheduled just a few times a day so you have to be th
  2. I find nothing wrong with whipping a child. I was whipped (we called it whooped) and I don't feel like I was abused at all. However, I don't agree with leaving welts. I do remember that ANY adult could whoop me at any time. It is just the way things were. But you know what, I didn't have to be spanked much because I knew that I could be. Just knowing that ws enought to keep me in line. It is good for kids to have a healthy dose of fear of discipline. These days they aren't scared of anything and it shows in their behavior.
  3. I am definitely a melatonin fan but I have found that all brands are not equal. I like the Sundown Super Snooze Melatonin. It seems to work best for me. It has 3 mg of melatonin with other natural sleep aid ingredients. My mom prefers her 6mg straight melatonin. You may have to try a couple of brands to see what works best for you. I do believe in the safety of it since my sons' neurologist is the first to suggest it for us.
  4. I spend much more time wondering why I walked into a room. Young people worry me. I have a much lower tolerance for stupid. My dog is my favorite person. When I was younger I used to think my mom was lazy because she never wanted to go anywhere when she wasn't working. She just wanted to stay home. Totally makes sense to me now. Sometimes I think if my family didn't have to eat I would never leave the house. OH...can't forget this one...If I have to sneeze I must stop everything I am doing and cross my legs. Ladies will get that. All in all, getting old sucks!
  5. My friend's son was diagnosed with it a few years ago. He doesn't have any trouble now. I think that while they are growing it effects them more. The doctor described it to them as a childhood arthritis. Her son called it "all good sliders"
  6. I am not too too terribly frightened of snakes when they are outside. I never get close enough to be able to see if they are poisonous or not...I just give them their space and move on. However, if I was coming from my basement and saw one on my steps I wuold sh*t right there!!!
  7. No, but I just read on FB that it is National Cream Filled Donut Day so it might be a good time to try it.
  8. There are always going to be certain groups of angry people. I am sure there are angry Baptists, Methodists, etc. Does that mean everyone of that religion is angry....I think not. Whenever the people, especially the media, use the of headlines that suggest that all people of that group are angry, happy, crazy, etc. it reinforces the human tendancy of bigotry.
  9. I was home with my youngest son and Diane Sawyer on TV. I saw it happen live and left for my son's dentist appointment. It was surreal. It still seems surreal. I don't think the magnitude hit me until days later.
  10. My sciatic pain was due to a bulging disc that wouldn't heal because I kept aggravating it and I can't tolerated most NSAIDS to relieve inflamation. I had to go to an ortho and get an epidural injection but it worked instantly and it has been nearly 2 years and it has not caused me any more problems. (knocking on wood)
  11. Only if I sell or trade all of the vehicles that I currently own. If I keep what I have the birthday tax will still apply.
  12. Since my first kid was born 22 years ago I have not been able to have a private phone call, conversation or even a private trip to the bathroom. Therefore, I wouldn't have a problem reading their diary.
  13. I hate that GA makes you pay your car taxes for your birthday too. What a crummy way to celebrate.
  14. I have been here 12 years and have made many good friends. I have enjoyed and been amazed at the growth of the county. Now that my kids are out of school and I am no longer tied to the school system I am much more satisfied. Since my husband was in the Air Force before we moved here this is the longest we have ever lived in one place in the 24 years we have been married. I am not sure id we will stay here forever, but for the near future we will be here. The housing market has us locked into our home. Some day we hope to sell the house and move to a lake home but not anytime soon.
  15. I am actually seeking a new dentist right now because of this very thing. Every time hubby and I go for the past 2-3 years we are made to feel bad because we choose not to crown the teeth that the dentist continues to insist MUST be crowned. His reasoning is that they have old fillings in them that may not last. My reasoning is that I am not going to pay 500.00 out of pocket for something that "may" happen. If and when it happens I will deal with it. I am overdue right now for a dental visit but I don;t want to go back to the same place so that I can be talked down to because I choose not
  16. I am addicted to HBO series. Game of Thrones and True Blood are my two favorites.
  17. I know that can happen. It happened to someone I know and it was not hard for the computer forensic teams to figure it out. I hope that is the case with your friend.
  18. My friend said it must be bad because they are turning folks around. She called me because there is a silver car involved and she knows my son drives a silver focus. Thank God my son is okay. Praying for everyone else's family. It's between Wall and Garmon Roads. Lifeflight is on the ground at Ingles. I am getting the play by play by my friend. No details on the wreck.
  19. Don't know why just thought you might want to know before heading that direction.
  20. After I asked a similar question I was reminded that this very thing happend several years ago only it was Wellstar and Cigna. At that time we had Cigna through Lockheed and we were not happy to have to change from the wellstar group. At that last minute of negotiations they came to a settlement. So I have decided not to change one thing until it is a done deal.
  21. Yes, I have Aetna and I certainly hope that you are right. This happened years ago when we had cigna and they settled. I will keep my fingers crossed!!
  22. Dr. Goolsby at East Paulding Priamry Care has been my family's PCP for 12 years. As of Sept. 1st he is no longer going to participate in the network of doctors covered by Lockheed's health plan. I am heart sick over this because we have a good relationship with him and his PA. Nothing I can do but look for someone in network. Has anyone used the Tanner New GA Family Medicine office? If so, what did you like and/or not like about them? This particular office is very close to my home and would be convenient but only if the doctors have a good bed side manner.
  23. This is the breakdown of my son's fall semester. All the fees below are mandatory and most are absolutely ridiculous. Total mandaory fees to attend KSU this fall...1176.08!! East Parking - Fall 83.00 OK...her has to park IS-Tuition UG Fall 47.28 This is not his academic tuition which is below...what is this?...heck if I know. Meal Plan ( - Fall 3.00 Mandatory ...but this is only partial...more mandatory meal plan fees below. Recreation Center Fee-Fall 35.00 Never uses..but okay. Athletic Fee-Fall 8.00 Not an athlete, but I guess someone has to pay for them
  24. "axe" instead of "ask" really bothers me. But I really get irritated with people who are inconsiderate and rude.
