  1. Judges are also not used to people taking responsibility for their own actions. I'm sure the judge would much rather hear that she simply didn't know she had to get the license changed vs...my mom told me not to. I think any judge would say, "Okay, young lady, you were 18 and capable of making your own decisions." That's just how I see it. I think going in there and giving the mother excuse will just make the judge want to roll their eyes and they probably will not reduce it. On the other hand, she may get lucky and get a very nice judge having a very good day.
  2. Well, I had a brain MRI in July. I AM NOT claustrophobic, but I did freak out anyway. When I told the tech I had to come out, I could see through the rag he put over my eyes and he said an expletive under his breath. Lol. I guess it happens to them so often and gets old. I had CT scans when I was little, but this was so different.. After it started, it was a lot better though. But being rolled into the machine, unable to move, with a rag and earplugs in was just a bit much for me. Good luck, and I would say that the rag *did* help, so ask them if they have a cloth to put over your
  3. I am guessing that, coupled with the likely questioning of the child (AND his admission on live tv that the parents said "it was for the show"), their attempted pitching of a reality show with TLC and alleged proof from a former colleague of the father was enough evidence to convince the police that the parents told the child to hide. I think it's just horrible...I bet they wish they had never done it now! CPS should get involved. Imagine how much money they cost with all of the efforts to find the boy, follow the boy in the balloon, etc. They should be accountable for all of that
  4. Breaking news is that charges will be filed in the balloon boy fiasco. Interesting. After reading more about this family, I totally believe it was a hoax and apparently the police have enough evidence to charge the father and possibly mother.
  5. Um...seriously, how did you do that? Hubby drinks one every day...did you use coupons, were they on sale, or are they always cheap like that?
  6. My son really wants to be a skeleton this year. He has been a cow, a peacock, a Buzz Lightyear (probably his nicest one...it was from Disney), and last year was a pirate. I am not big on getting costumes from places like WM, Target, etc...I like for him to have well-made costumes that I can resell on eBay or he can wear to dress up in. So I was wondering if anyone has seen a skeleton costume around for a younger kid? I tried the halloween place in Hiram, but they didn't have his size (he would be a 4/5)...they were all mediums or larges.
  7. I avoid public restrooms at all costs. Unless I absolutely cannot wait, I don't use them. When I do, I use paper towels to touch everything and I Lysol my shoes when I get home (we never wear shoes in the house, so I just do it for the ick factor). I'm a handwashing FREAK. I think I wash my hands more than anyone I know.
  8. Well, no idea how it got on there. I certainly didn't put it on there and I'm not technologically challenged, so it didn't happen by accident. No idea!
  9. And a deputy is saying he witnessed an object falling from it. Sure hope it wasn't the boy, but it seems like they would have found him by now if he were just hiding. I can see how it would be harder to find a body vs. finding a boy hiding, especially if his body were in the woods or something. Ugh...sad.
  10. No, but my cell phone mysteriously started playing classical music instead of ringing. So everyone that calls me gets to enjoy it. It's VERY annoying music, too. Tra, la, la, la, la, la, laaaaaa, tra, la, la, la, la, la, laaaaa, dun, dun, dun dun, dun, dun, dun, dunnnnnn, tra, la, la, la, la, la, laaaaa...........Lol.
  11. Glad to hear that! I hope he enjoys the popsicles...I had surgery 3 times as a kid and was always ordering the nurses to bring me popsicles.
  12. Wow...that is horribly sad. So, so rare for complications like that to occur, though, but I'm sure she never thought she'd end up disabled.
  13. I do think it's a bit unusual that their bedtime is 10pm. Most families I know that are similar to the Duggars are very "In bed by 8!" It makes me not feel so bad when I get my kids to bed at 9:30is when I meant to have them in there by 8:30 or 9.
  14. I got a Tyson roast kit, forgot about it, and noticed today it says use by the 14th...so I'm going to cook it today.
  15. None of those reasons are relevant for most of the Hollywood moms with twins. And I am fully aware of the factors that increase a woman's chances of having twins. My mother is a twin and they really run in her family. Fraternal, of course, as identical are purely by chance. Anyway, I'm pretty sure that most of the Hollywood moms with twins did not conceive them naturally. It is the new trend.
  16. I'm glad everyone doesn't have that mindset, though, because this would be one crowded world if everyone had as many kids as God would give them. I don't care if people have a ton of kids...I like the Duggars. But I do think it's a bit ridiculous to say you are letting God decide your family size. God also gave us a brain... I have a friend who had 2 children when I met her and is now having her 5th because they decided to let God decide. This was after they lost their house to foreclosure a few years ago and had to move to another state and are on welfare........
  17. Well, I like the Duggar family and I'm not saying that Josh and Anna aren't good together. BUT, they never really spent any real time together. I've seen, read, etc the story of how they met and came to know each other. They met at a homeschool conference and lived in different states. They really did not know each other when he proposed. They had spent minimal time together (SERIOUSLY minimal time). Sometimes those situations work out. They will probably be together forever. But I just do not get the whole get engaged first, fall in love and get to know each other later deal. With that type o
  18. Honestly, what I would do first is go to a gynecologist and have him examine your breasts. Self exams are not very reliable because many women simply do not know what to look for, and often "lumps" are not really lumps but are thick, fibrous tissue, etc. That way, you can pay a small price for a doctor's visit (probably $100 or less) and have him check your breasts. He will be able to tell if it is possibly cancer, and then you can worry about the mammogram and other diagnostic tests. I would also opt for a breast ultrasound vs mammogram.
  19. Anyone notice how celebs just "happen" to have twins so often? Uh huh...and they aren't using treatments. Lol. They have the magic secret!
  20. Poor girl! Said a prayer for her. I'm sure she'll do great! But you can't help but worry when a little one has surgery. My son had to have surgery on his penis when he was less than a year old, and my baby now has to have surgery as well...because the doctor did not cut enough with the circumcision and they will put him under for it this time. GOOD LUCK, and spoil her rotten when she wakes up
  21. It's sad to read all of these stories. I'm saying prayers and positive thoughts for all of you...I hope that you can all find something soon. I know of people who have had it so rough that they took out huge student loans, are going back to school at community colleges, and are living off of their loans. It's just sad how things are right now.
  22. I hope it is Jessa that "breaks from the pack"...she is a really pretty girl and has a lot of potential. I don't think they will. They talked about that on the show last night, and she seemed to want to say, "There's no way I'll have that many kids," without saying it. She was beating around the bush about it, but you could tell that was how she felt. When asked what leaving it up to God meant, Josh beat around the bush too, but you could tell that they really wanted to say they would probably use contraception. That's just what I gathered from the way they acted. I think they'll
  23. Let me know if it starts doing that...I'll give you my address! Mine doesn't do it...I guess mine is stupid.
  24. That impresses you? Lol...I'm so not excitable, I guess. I'm lame.
