  1. Mine was $1,500 including dress, shoes, makeup, etc. EVERYTHING. Wedding AND 3 day, 2 night honeymoon. We had our wedding and honeymoon at Forrest Hills Mountain Resort in Dahlonega. I found it because it was featured in Modern Bride magazine. It was perfect...the only thing I *may* have done differently is get a different dress (looking back, it wasn't exactly my style...I wanted a strapless dress and it had straps), but even my dress was very nice. The dress was only $100 new on eBay! I really lucked out. I really cannot imagine spending more than I did...I think it's crazy how p
  2. Exactly...they don't want you to be sad over them forever. I would hate if something happened to me and my boys/husband never stopped thinking about my death or entered a long depression. That would be terrible. I wouldn't want them to forget me and I would want them to think of me/remember me, but I would expect them to move on and be happy.
  3. I hate to sound terrible, but I try not to think of loved ones who have passed away. Of course I don't forget them, but I just try not to think about them all the time as some people would. It's just too difficult to think about them, you know? My mom talks about her mom, thinks about her mom all the time. She gets upset all the time. If she goes to eat somewhere, she'll say stuff like, "Momma would have loved this food," and then get upset. I am just not that way. My aunt passed away at 50 something unexpectedly a few months ago. It was very sad and I was upset for a few days. But when the fu
  4. That's a neat idea, but I'd still be taking that escalator!
  5. We had fajitas. I get those Tyson fajita kits in the frozen section. I won't buy them again. I have bought them a few times, and the servings are just WRONG. The bag claims it makes 6 fajitas. Well, unless you only put one pitiful little teaspoon of filling in them, it only makes 4 (and even those aren't as full as normal fajitas should be). They aren't even *that* good, just something I get for those days I don't feel like fixing anything. Tomorrow it is spaghetti with my favorite sauce...it's Bertolli marinara with red wine (something like that).
  6. I made my own homemade cookie dough 4 or 5 days ago. The recipe said it made 24 cookies. Well, that was terribly underestimated. I have already made about 15 and have TONS of dough left. How long is it good for in the fridge since it has raw egg in it? I know I can freeze it for a while, but I'd rather keep it in the fridge if I can. I did search for the answer on my own, but I read very conflicting information. Some said 2 months, others said 2 days.
  7. Yes, refi would be a fantastic option since you have a lot of equity. It would drastically reduce your payment most likely. My mom refinanced and pays only a couple hundred more than we do and she has a gigantic house.
  8. Hmm...that's weird. 239 is an area code, but it could also be someone using a program to call you with that number. There are programs that allow you to enter in the number you want to show up on the caller ID, but I thought you had to put a 10 digit, so maybe that is not it. I would just ignore the calls and see if it keeps happening over the next day or so. If it's some type of spam, they may stop if you do not answer after a certain number of times. I got several calls the other week about education. Mine had live people on the line, though. Anyway, after the initial call I didn't ans
  9. I might stay long enough to find another career, go to school, etc. That may help out your situation and then you can both move on. How long have you been married? I have been married for 5 years, and let me tell you...while that is not nearly as long as a lot of people here, I often felt like we had been together for an eternity. The first year of our marriage was absolutely horrible. Things just were so new, different, and we couldn't stand each other, either. We fought ALL the time, and there were many times where I thought we would never make it. Here we are. Things are definitely NO
  10. My mom and stepdad went on one a couple of years ago. They loved it. They had an awesome time and my mom said the food was fabulous. My neighbors took one a year ago and loved it. It was also really cheap...if you book at the last minute, you can get them for as low as like $200/ticket, sometimes better. Seriously! I forget who it is, but someone I know knows a former cruise ship crew member. I remember whoever it was told me that the crew member said Alaska was by far the best cruise they had taken. They are a lot more $$, though, but I'm sure very worth it!
  11. Yeah, that is true...it's like, "Oh, okay, it's a boy/girl," and then all there is to do is shop or wonder what the baby looks like. I loved knowing with my first, but after I found out my second was a boy, the excitement did die down a lot for me. I actually went through a lot of mixed emotions. I have never wanted a girl, ever, but I really felt like he was a girl and when I found out he wasn't, I realized at that point that I did want a girl someday. So I was disappointed because I thought it was my last baby (was sure wrong about that!), but when he was born, he was exactly what he was sup
  12. GREAT.........I knew I shouldn't have opened this thread.
  13. Yeah, so my hubbie could stumble across my post. I'm not going to find out. I'm NOT going to find out. Can you tell I'm trying to convince myself? Lol. After the ultrasound is over, it won't be so hard. I'm just going to declare it a girl and move on. You *are* a Madeline. Lol. My mom is so weird...she says if I find out, it will be a boy. If I wait, it will be a girl. Uh huh, mom...gonna magically change its sex. OMG...I totally didn't notice that the baby grew on my ticker within the past day or two. Aw...I love to see it move up!
  14. Oh, it was so easy for me last time! I enjoyed people not knowing and making them tough it out. I like keeping secrets. :-) And if I found out, I wouldn't even tell hubby I knew. So if he saw me viewing girl stuff, he would simply think it was because I would prefer a girl. If it didn't say my first two were boys, I may believe it. They are definitely boys, though.
  15. I'm very impatient, too. That's why this is tough. But I think reminding myself of how awesome it will be to wait is going to help. Also, it may help if I don't have so many sonograms. I had like 3 with my first and 5 with my second. My doctor is very liberal and would just give me one if I wanted. I will just stick to the 20 and 32 week this time (I had one at 7 weeks), but I will just keep my eyes off the screen unless the tech assures me it's face only. She is not the one that slipped up and gave it away last pregnancy.
  16. This is the bedding I am thinking about if it's a girl. I *love* it. I don't care for babyish looking crib sets for girls (butterflies, ballerinas, etc). I like the sorta grown-up looking stuff. Also, my crib looks nearly identical to that one. I had it with my first son and my second son is using it now. It's a great crib in a pewter finish. The only difference is the tops are not rounded like that, but other than that it is the same. I would paint the room a darker green...I have seen that set with an olive green paint and also with pink and yellow in different reviews. I like th
  17. Just because the wall would be green doesn't mean the rest of the stuff would be. What I would do is paint the room green and buy a girlie crib bedding set and accessories. I WOULD NOT put that stuff up yet. Someone could put that on the crib and hang the decorations, etc after I have the baby, but before we came home. Painting is the big thing...but I also want to have the crib set bought, etc. I want to have all the stuff ready to put up, and also be able to buy clothes. But none of that stuff would be in the house. It would not be a gender neutral room at all. The green would match a
  18. Yes, it would get millions of hits because if you throw rotting tomatoes at me, I'm getting the AK. There's NOTHING worse than rotten tomatoes.
  19. Well, I do make a good meatball sub, but no...not a meatball girl. I'm a turkey girl. But my favorite food in the world is..........................................tomatoes. Just sliced tomatoes. So, run along to Burgers market for me and you can just drop them by here. I'll send you a check...........honest.
  20. I've seen that before...pretty funny. Maybe the dog was having spasms in that leg or something. I'm going to be cliche and say my fave is the Charlie Bit Me one, but that's just because it reminds me so much of how my own boys are together. Sweet.
  21. I wish we didn't have the option of finding out sometimes. I think that is what makes it so hard to wait. I mean, a long time ago people just had to wait so they didn't pine over it all the time. I think I'm going to wait...it will be tough, but I'm already 13 weeks...what is 25 or so more? I think it will be much easier after I have my ultrasound and am out of there knowing I will not have the option to find out. Then there is that 32 week sonogram... Ick, I don't shop at Kroger. Only when I have to. I'm not big on bread right now...but I do love a Firehouse sub, so next time
  22. Price range? It may prevent people from wasting their time selling you their n'hood above or too below your range. :-)
  23. Haha...I actually only buy whole wheat. Just wanted to disagree with you...a bit.
