  1. I am the same way...I am a major germaphobe, though. I wash my hands probably 100 times per day. The neck, to me, just resembled something else a little too much for my liking. That, and I could picture its little head and eyes and it gobbling around. Yuck....
  2. Just wanted to thank everyone that gave me turkey advice. My first turkey turned out well. My husband loved it and kept saying how good it was and how it wasn't dry (I am a known poultry overcooker, but that's because I like mine dry as the juiciness freaks me out). I used a meat thermometer and it also had a pop-up timer. I must say, though, that pulling that neck out nearly traumatized me. But I got through it! The rest of the dinner turned out well, too, if you don't count the baby falling asleep right when it was ready, my oldest getting his feelings hurt by DH and running upstairs after
  3. I don't have Wii Fit Plus, but I have Wii Fit. They are essentially the same thing. I can buy a $20 Plus game and make mine a Wii Fit Plus. I and my husband decided against it as the add of content is not substantial enough for the purchase. I do want to say, though, that when we first got our Wii and Wii Fit we LOVED it. I thought I would use it every day, and I loved seeing how my weight fluctuated. But honestly, that's about the only thing I use it for now...as a scale. Lol. It is fun and the games are fun, but to me...if you are looking to lose weight, look elsewhere. There are succes
  4. Okay, they are saying alcohol wasn't involved. Then, what charges?? Hmm....
  5. I have heard and read that charges are pending. I take it he was under the influence of something...who else would there be to charge?
  6. That is just terrible for her and her girls. Said a prayer for her. This thread is a great reminder to get those moles checked out. I need to make my DH an appointment to have one on his back looked at. I was checked earlier this year. Go get your moles or any odd skin lesions/tags checked!!
  7. I've had vertigo since I can remember. I have "always" had it. I was scared to check into it, though, but I had an MRI done on my brain a few months ago due to some numbness I was experiencing, and everything was fine. So I'm assuming I just have dizziness and that is just normal for me. I wouldn't be too worried, but perhaps you need to have a scan done. Sometimes sudden and persisting vertigo can indicate more serious things like brain tumors, etc. Not to scare you, though...that would be pretty rare, and more than likely it is something simple or just something happening to you right n
  8. It seems I do this every few months, but I never put a dent in it. It is multiplying, I tell you! What makes it worse is that most of the toys my son has have multiple, often small, pieces. All the blocks, cars, Imaginext playsets, train track pieces, the list goes on. I have been meaning to gather things up for the past few days now. Maybe I will get to that later today. Most of the time I donate the stuff, but this time I will probably sell the really good things for some extra $$$.
  9. Are you all talking about the lady that walks around 278 and sometimes with a buggy? I always wondered who Miss Jesse was, and I think the light bulb just came on for me. I always just assumed she was homeless, but a friend told me that is not true. I hope she gets better...
  10. Well, I won't be fighting and pulling hair after all. DH was on one of his gun forums and someone had posted a DS for sale. They played it less than 12 hours they said, and it is in excellent condition...$50! And it's a DS, not a DS Lite, so it's a great deal. Paying $60 with shipping. I have never been about buying used for Christmas for some reason, but it looks and functions like new and no trampled pregnant woman.
  11. I was going to make chicken sandwiches topped with cheddar slices and peppered bacon, but I forgot to take the chicken out of the freezer. So, I took out some ground beef just now and we'll have homemade vegetable beef soup with cornbread or enchiladas. Haven't decided yet.
  12. Oh, okay...well I may line up out there then
  13. Exactly! So...does it start at midnight Thanksgiving night/midnight Friday morning? I have only shopped once on Black Friday and that was last year...during the day, and it was a disaster. But I want the DS!
  14. I would think it is a no-brainer that I was kidding, but...I was kidding. I would never get physical over a toy. Actually, I was going to post in the thread and say no way was I going out on Black Friday, but since that was the present I planned on getting him from Santa and it's $30 cheaper, I will definitely try to get one.
  15. Wow...I am going to have to go and fight for a DS Lite. I had already decided I was getting my 4-year-old one to keep him off the computer and laptop. He is obsessed with video games, and that is a great price considering they are $130!
  16. Thanks for all the tips and advice. Sold it just a bit ago...fair price with no shipping involved. I'm happy! I think hubbie is a bit sad, but he will get over it. It just sat in the closet anyway. He did say he wants a new safe for his other gun, so we may take some of that money and do that for him for Christmas. I am just so happy now and so relieved. No worry about Christmas now. I can't even believe it was an issue to begin with. Things happen in 3's it seems, and we had a lot of bad things happen to us the past 2 months! All fixed now, though. Whew. I was so mad when he bought that
  17. Well, that is probably it. I wouldn't worry too much as the barrel price has slipped over a dollar today. I try not to pay attention to the daily fluctuation anymore and just focus on fluctuation by week or 2 week periods. It just changes way too much in 24 hours.
  18. Think fast...check your PM.
  19. Hey, that would work for me. Might even put a bow on it for you. Lol.
  20. Thanks Scape Goat, we may try there next week! It is a Romanian with folding stock, 480 rounds of Wolf FMJ ammo (I think that is what he said...), and 2 unissued ribbed back mags pre 1994 production. Whatever that means. I thought he spent $750 on it, but after tallying it up, he invested over $800 with restaining the wood a nicer color and other accessories that I have no idea what they are. It's in pristine condition, so hopefully we can gt a good price for it. I think he is hoping to get $550, which is basically the price of just the gun shipped. He knows about that pawn shop, though,
  21. I'm destitute right now (lol), but I can probably get some things together in the next few weeks. That is great you guys are open on Christmas.
  22. My husband has an AK-47 with like 500 rounds of ammo and I believe it has some sort of special "folding stock" and other accessories. It was his every few month impulse buy at the beginning of last year and he has only shot it twice, so I want him to get rid of it as we REALLY need the money now to buy Christmas presents. We have never been this broke at Christmas time, and I did not anticipate this at all, but buying a new car and other money that has been blown along with paying for preschool...I just don't know how we are going to buy Christmas presents without selling things. I'm starting
  23. I agree, and after Googling some more about it, that's what I was planning on doing. He said that is what they have done for the past few years (leaving it on the counter), but I don't want to chance anything.
  24. Turkey and gravy Mashed potatoes Green bean casserole (can't wait for that...haven't had it since last year!) Corn on the cob Deviled eggs Rolls Apple pie Chocolate chip cookie pie Possibly some peas...don't have any, but I may get some. I need peas!
