Thinking completely off the wall.... Would it be possible to cover it with something like a large piece of steel similar to what they use when doing road work? I'm not sure where you would get one of those (please DON'T take one you see on a road somewhere), but it would seem like it could take the load, especially if you make "foundations" for the corners so that no real load would be placed on the tank. If you ever needed access to the tank, it would be easily removable.

What is Learning Bridge and what do they know about ASP?
jsbeagle replied to dawneykids's topic in RECENT TOPICS
So Learning Bridge is going to pay the power bill, etc during ASP? They are obviously going to make a profit, so was the school system just not "allowed" to make a profit? I understand the cost for students is going up by like a dollar, so is that the only difference? -
What about situations like on 120 heading East if you're wanting to turn right onto 92 (just in front of the Shell station on the same side of 120 as Stars and Strikes). I'm sure it wasn't originally designed that way, but there is no legal way to turn right there. If you get into the right turn lane where the solid white line turns into a skip white line, then you have to go through the gore area for the entrance to the Shell station. If you wait until after the gore area to get over, then you have to cross a solid white line. I'd be really ticked if I got a ticket there.

Pretty sure we're in a burn ban, so make sure you've got some hot dogs to cook over your old papers.

Its sad when believing in the 10th amendment makes you politically incorrect.

Has anybody seen any rain yet this weekend? Here in East Paulding, I haven't seen a drop. I have plants that needed watering, but with the constant calls for rain, I haven't bothered. Maybe tonight...

It was pretty well only bread honey and jam type items. A few plants, but no actual fruits or veggies. Too early in the season I suppose.

I wonder how much money federal intrusion has actually COST local/state school systems money.

You MUST eat at the Crab Shack. Its on the road from Savannah to Tybee. They have the best shellfish anywhere, and the atmosphere is very unique. http://www.thecrabshack.com/ There's also a couple good breakfast places on Tybee if you can get there early enough. Be careful if you go wandering around in Savannah - there are really bad areas that are close to the historic stuff. Just look for the run down areas.

I'm guilty of dirtying hand towels myself. I didn't notice at the time, but my wife did later. We had been working really hard in the yard, dug up a huge pampas grass and transplanted several shrubs. I came inside a couple times and washed my hands really good just as I always do. The problem was that I was only washing halfway up my forearms but the towel was wiping somewhat above that. Even though my hands were clean, my still dirty elbows were dirtying the towel.

We buy Williamson Brothers by the gallon at Sams For something more tangy/vinegar based, I go with Johnny Harris (restaurant is in Savannah) - you can get it at most grocery stores Both make a mustard based Carolina type sauce that is very good as well My favorite though has to be Fat Matt's which is on Piedmont Rd in Atlanta. You can buy bottles of their sauce there. It is a little spicy, but easily the best. All meals there are served with a couple slices of very fresh loaf bread. Eating the bread with some sauce is almost as good as their ribs and chicken!

Amendment I Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. I've never understood this separation of church and state garbage. Nowhere does it say anything about separating church and state. All it says is that the US Congress shall make no law that establishing a national religion. That was something the founders were trying to get away from in Europe. The wa

I saw a monster gar yesterday right where we were about to put in a skier. It was 4 or 5 feet long. This was on the North end of Allatoona.

Don't get into the fair tax in this thread about a car. Saying it will never happen, so don't bother is not helping anybody. Do you know how many people didn't want to bother with the revolution in the late 1700's because "it would never happen"?

Opening old windows that have been painted shut...
jsbeagle replied to Thoughts from the Evil Galaxy's topic in RECENT TOPICS
It may seem a little counter intuitive, but assuming they are double hung windows and you can get to the top of them, get a block of wood and a hammer. Place the wood over the top of the window close to one side and tap it with the hammer in the direction the window closes. Do it on left and right sides of the window. Then try to open it up. Many times this is all it takes. It could also be used in addition to the other methods already mentioned. The block of wood helps to spread the impact over more of the window. -
Were you on a two lane road? 81 doesn't make you a super speeder on an interstate. Its 85 for any road. 75 for a two lane. Super speeder is assessed by the DDS (DMV) and you would be sent the fine from them at a later time. You'll still have to deal with the county.

We tried to go to Captain Jacks a few years ago, but on the way in, some people leaving said to get out while we still could. Honestly, we stay away from all the touristy places (except Angelo's). Sadly Hunt's Oyster Bar on Beck Ave in Panama City (not beach) has been discovered by the masses. They were recently mentioned in Southern Living, and its been nearly impossible to get a table since. It was a hole in a wall type place (till it burned, moved, then built back). If you want good seafood, try Pier 77 just up the road from Capt Andersons. Twilight specials are cheap and marga

But but but but, I thought there were not going to be any increased taxes on families making less than $250,000 per year.

At what point are teachers "tenured"? I think the reasoning for letting them go is because they can. They are going to go ahead and get rid of as many as they possibly can, then hire back what they need. My guess is that they WILL NOT hire back from the recent fires. They want to start the clock on new teachers that they would have more options with in regard to letting go in the future. We moved to this county near the school where my wife got a job teaching two years ago. She was let go last year and was luckily hired back at a different school across the county. Now she is being le

We saw a lady, with a baby in her lap................

By reporting something like this, it could save a LIFETIME of grief if someone else were to get into an accident with that car. If you were to get into an accident with someone, regardless of fault, I bet you would really hope that everyone in the car was buckled up. If someone was killed because they weren't strapped in, that would bother you for the rest of your life. In my opinion, the seatbelt laws protect other drivers on the road just as much as the ones wearing (or not) one. -
There is something in there that senses when headphones are plugged in so that the regular speakers turn off. It used to just be part of the connection, but might be software based now. Unfortunately, there is not a lot you can do to fix it. Try plugging and unplugging in headphones a few times, as the sensor part could just be stuck. If you have some compressed air, you might try blowing into the hole as well. Is it possible that the headphone plug was dirty/sticky when it was plugged in at some point, or even something spilled near the laptop? As a last resort, you can just g
