  1. Its a popularity contest!!! Not about who is more deserving. Every fan voting is just a popularity contest.
  2. Not to pile on, but I've heard of banks taking months to decide on an offer on a short sale. Since banks are run by boards, its not like the one person who sees it at the bank can approve it. A board of some sort is who will actually look at the offer. They aren't going to call a special board meeting just for that, so it just gets put on the docket of the next board meeting (if they can get to it). Think of it in the eyes of the bank: it made a deal with someone to be paid a certain amount of money over 30 years for a house. At some point, that person wants out and offers (via a shor
  3. One of my favorite snacks is pepper jelly and cream cheese. All you need is a knife to spread it and a big pack of club crackers. Unless you're having a party, there is no reason to dump out a whole jar of the jelly.
  4. I put a new one on my house a few months ago, and it stays warm. The whole thing is metal, so if the sun is shining on it, the thing actually gets pretty hot.
  5. But gas lines explode in houses on their own http://www.11alive.com/rss/rss_story.aspx?storyid=142907! Lets ban natural gas! People are killed in car accidents, lets ban those too. Would you really like to compare the number of people killed accidentally when a gun goes off in an oven to the number of people that successfully defend themselves and their family with a gun?
  6. People with carry permits are law abiding. That's why they (we) went to the trouble of getting the permit. It is against the law to carry and drink. The people with permits will obey this. It is the ones without the permits that drink while carrying that you need to worry about, and THEY WERE DOING THIS BEFORE THE NEW LAWS CAME INTO EFFECT! I never understand why people think strict gun laws will keep guns out of the bad guys hands. Laws only oppress the law abiding. Bad guys don't care what laws change or what the laws are, they just do what they do. http://www.youtube.com/wa
  7. They just had to wait until Adams got back into the country, or he would have been fired last week.
  8. Its just funny how the Nixle said to avoid downtown Hiram
  9. So wait, are we supposed to go the festivities, or avoid them?!?
  10. The magazine (part where the ammo goes in) actually melted and the rounds fell out. It is my understanding that nothing fired "from" the gun, but the rounds went off just lying in the bottom of the oven. The mythbusters actually tried this exact thing and the results were less than climactic. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7BX1kvJVrjc The difference in what happened in real life is that there were several bullets going off, so the earlier ones could break the glass while the later ones actually cause damage.
  11. The radio commercial I heard last night during the Braves game on Rock 100.5 was for a store in South Carolina. I think someone should be in trouble for false advertising. The commercial said their fireworks were "government approved". Now I'm sure they are approved by the government in South Carolina, but most definitely not by Georgia. I just don't see how they can get away with advertising something on the radio that is illegal in the place where its being advertised. If Florida legalized marijuana, would we tolerate them advertising here that all you have to do is cross the border i
  12. I'm willing to bet that the parking lot at Stars and STRIKES will have a decent crowd tonight with people waiting on fireworks. I don't know the history of the Hiram event and how long its had the name Stars and Stripes, but they could use a little more publicity about where it is and where it is not.
  13. I wish people that were that ignorant about guns would wear signs saying "I'm against guns", so those of us who carry would be a little safer. The bad guys would definitely pick on them knowing they are unarmed. I've actually heard about big anti-gun people successfully defending themselves against a home invader with a gun. (while I'm at it) http://travelaz.blogspot.com/2010/01/anti-gun-advocate-state-senator-rc.html
  14. There is no training for LE to guarantee that something will not run out in front of them or a car won't stop in front of them while they are looking down at a computer screen. The fact is that anytime you look away from the road, you put yourself at risk of hitting something or somebody. My wife and I got rear ended BAD because traffic stopped on Barrett Pkwy and the girl that hit us never slowed. She ended up flying over us, hitting someone else in the air, and landing upside down. She had to have looked away from the road for something. I know we all look away for various things li
  15. I'm wondering this as well. I know Marietta is having their usual all day festivities on Saturday the 3rd.
  16. Saw the guy outside Home Depot about 4:00 today.
  17. Its actually easy to fix. When mine went out, rather than wait on the part I just switched the starter from the broiler down the the regular oven burner. The connections weren't the exact same, but the part was. After a simple solder job the oven works again. The part seems to be somewhat universal as the same part number was listed for several brands and models of ovens, but the part is at least $45 anywhere on the internet. I never use the broiler, so I'm fine living without it for now.
  18. I never found an accurate time as to when we would see the eclipse. I started checking at 4:45, and gave up at 6:30 when it was either too cloudy or the moon had already set.
  19. There is going to be a lunar eclipse tomorrow morning. I'm having trouble trying to figure out what if anything we will see from here. It appears from the chart that the eclipse will be visible just before the moon sets at 5:30 am. http://science.nasa.gov/science-news/science-at-nasa/2010/24jun_lunareclipse/
  20. If it was purchased with certain credit cards, the warranty period is doubled by the credit card company. Some Mastercards and AMEXs offer this.
  21. My wife got almost exactly this same one: 11. Please excuse Lesli from being absent yesterday. She had diahre dyrea direathethe cheezes. The only difference is the last word. They said "the s****"
  22. Whatever you do, DO NOT send the computer back to Dell without saving everything you want to keep that's stored on it. I have heard of many stories of computer manufacturers promising that they'll just fix what is wrong and not reformat the hard drive, but when the people get the computer back, everything is gone.
  23. They are most likely not related events. When you say the screen turned pink, do you mean the whole screen was solid pink, or was tinted pink? Was it just inside of your browser (internet explorer, firefox, etc.)? Were you able to see the screen to actually "shut down" the computer, or did you just use the power switch? If it was the whole screen, then I'd guess it is a hardware problem. Laptops are made to travel, but the screens can get messed up easily. I would guess it is a short if it went away. If it does it again, try lightly tapping around the edges of the screen with a
  24. I think I would call DFACS. Just be careful because you don't want to end up arrested for trying to do a good deed: Cops Arrest Teen Who Said He Was Trying to Help 3-Year-Old Find Mother in Store

    salads

Johnny's There are several around here. They have the best chef salad if you like meats and cheese on a salad. Mellow Mushrooms are hit or miss. Sometimes the "small" salad is huge, and sometimes it is tiny. There's nowhere that really has breadsticks that compare to the place that you mentioned (and we don't have here).
