  1. Not last night, but this morning (a little after 6 a.m.) I saw something with what looked like a blue blinking light fall out of the sky. I was driving south on 278 toward Hiram and it was in the sky to my left. It was at a distance so I didn't hear anything, but I thought for sure I would log on here after I got to work and see something about a plane crash. Then I chalked it up to my eyes playing tricks on me. Then I read this thread.
  2. Thanks for the information! It was the water main, I saw them repairing it after I left the house for work. All is well and right with my faucets now, thank God. You forget how amazing it is to have running water in your house until all the sudden you don't.
  3. Thanks for the information! That would do it.
  4. Just a tiny trickle of water coming out of the faucet this morning. I'm located in the city limits sort of near the hospital. Does anybody else have this problem? I had water still around 11 p.m. Yes, I paid my bill.
  5. Not so sure about t-shirts, but definitely tote bags. Reusable bags that you can bring in full of trades and leave full of new goodies!
  6. That's exactly the issue then. Xfinity is digital only; Comcast sent me about four warning letters letting me know about it. My TiVo has two digital tuners. You may want to be sure U-Verse is compatible with your TiVo; I know mine is only good for cable.
  7. Do you have a dual-stream Digital Cable Converter card in your TiVo? Maybe it needs to be recalibrated? Our TiVo still records on both tuners after the switch and we don't have any internet issues. We're just trying to get used to the new channel line up. Any time I've had problems (and I had a lot getting the TiVo set up), the people at Comcast's tech support were surprisingly helpful. All of my problems have been from the people that actually come to the house. If it's something you can get resolved over the phone it may not be such a pain in the butt.
  8. The chickens probably belong to a neighbor. I grew up in Stockbridge and the house across from my high school had chickens that invariably wandered over to visit.
  9. I haven't called that number, but my dad was talking about this the other day. He said when you call, it's automated, so you have to speak or dial for the options... except the speaking part rarely works. And he loves that if he calls it in traffic to find out what the deal is, the automated voice will tell him all is clear...
  10. Check out their Facebook or Twitter pages; that's where I've seen them post deals in the past. I think all of their summer specials are over now that the kids are almost back in school. I know they did have a "Mommy and me" special where a child's admission was free with a paid adult, but I'm not sure if that's still going on.
  11. I took Spanish as a continuing education course at Clayton State when I lived south of the city. I'd imagine other colleges offer the same type thing. It looks like KSU has continuing ed classes for Spanish: http://www.campusce.net/Kennesaw/category/category.aspx?C=13&S=151
  12. The thing is, unless she has something in writing, it's a "he-said-she-said" type of issue. Unless other employees are willing to vouch for her, but they may be afraid of losing their jobs. If she could hang on and record this activity it may be more fruitful. Doesn't the law in Georgia say that as long as one party knows it's being recorded it's legal? (Please correct me if I'm wrong)
  13. I understand where she's coming from. I'm a KSU student and seeing the people that slip through with good enough grades to reach their final semesters really disappoints me. It makes me question the value of my education. I think it's a generational thing spurred by No Child Left Behind. It's more like No Child Will Get Ahead. I have so many comments/thoughts on this issue...
  14. That would be much better than the hour drive to get to the Starlight. I love the drive in, much more than sitting arm to arm with a stranger in a crowded theater. I love getting to bring take out sushi and wine (though not in a glass bottle of course ) and enjoy a movie with mine and my husband's commentary. No shushing, no having to shush others.
  15. Transformers II at the Starlight. I haven't made it back lately, but I love that drive-in!
