Last I heard, the data they were collecting from all around the country was from thermometers located in places that would skew the data. One was inside a box with an incandescent light bulb, one at the end of a runway where jet exhaust would be aimed towards it. There were many others that were just as bad, but I don't feel like looking it up because some people are just sheeple and will go along with whatever the government tells them. Feel free to research on your on if you want to be informed, just be wary of the source.

I thought it was going to be a sporting goods store... -
You could also use a little butane or propane torch to just caramelize the sugar. Another way to just remove the bitterness is to sprinkle on a little salt.

It happened to my house one time while I was outside working in the yard. He drove by slow one time and then again and stopped. I almost got in a confrontation with him, but he quickly explained what he was up to. We bought the house as a foreclosure and he was using it as a comp.

WSB was doing a tribute show this afternoon. I heard Neal called in but couldn't keep it together. He's been with the show for 17 years. I wonder if this might push Neal to seek retirement a little sooner?

Here's an opposite one... The company named it such to COPY the common generic name. The brand of DUCT tape called DUCK tape

Are the regular restaurants in Hiram open? I haven't bothered going into Hiram since this thing started. The ice really isn't much of an issue any more. I took backroads back from Marietta (Ridenour > old 41 > Stilesboro > Mars Hill > 120) and only Ridenour didn't really have dry ruts to drive in. Actually took less time today than it normally does going Barrett to 120.

I left at 9 this morning heading to Canton road near where Barrett turns into E Piedmont. I usually take 120 to Barrett to Cobb Pkwy and then turn onto Canton Rd from there. Today, going down 120, traffic was slow (20mph) but manageable. I have a 4x4, but there were plenty of cars out and around. When I got to Bob Cox rd, traffic just stopped. I turned off Bob Cox and went to Burnt Hickory (those roads were a little dicey, but a car followed me the whole way) and got on Barrett there. Barrett was fine, very little ice, cobb parkway was good, and the only other real issues were around Cant

I haven't really had a chance to read his posts on that above top secret forum, but I like to read around on that site sometimes for entertainment. All those people are crazy. Its all the goons trying to say that Bush created 9/11, the world is run by the illuminati, we never landed on the moon, and some people are shape shifting reptilians. They do have some good survival type stuff (which can come in handy in situations like we find ourselves in right now), which is how I found it in the first place.

While at Walmart earlier, I went to the Zaxby's parking lot so I could look down 120 and check out the conditions. It looked fine, so I parked my car at the bottom of our soon to be icy again hill and planned to go in to work in Marietta in the morning. I go 120 to Barrett to 41 and work on Canton Rd. I'm not so sure anymore. Thanks for the info.

Its gonna take a lot more than a grocery store box of salt

Please remind me how thankful we were today when I have to go in and work 16 hours (so far) this coming weekend.

Thanks for the info. Hopefully the fire dept hasn't needed to make it yet. I've got a 4x4 4runner, but if all 4 tires are on ice, I just don't see what difference it would make, and I'd end up sliding all the way down and into someone's living room.

I need to go that route as well, but getting to it from the top of my big hill in Evans Mill is the hard part. Anybody been down the Valleyside Dr hill in the east part of the sub. this morning?

We were told to come in today if we could, but we are getting paid for half a day today (and expected to make up the other half by working late the rest of the week). I'd rather just take the day off without pay. 3 or 4 of the bosses made it in this morning (its in Marietta), but they live close. I don't know what we're going to do tomorrow. I'm guess I'll be expected to be there for as much as I can, but I'm not even going to try until after 8 or 9, and then my usual 30-40 minute drive will probably take twice that. The hardest part will be getting down the big hill on Valleyside dr in E

good looks? That may be why he was driving the BMW in the first place

Just called in to the engineering office in Marietta I work at... There's actually 3 or 4 people there, but we will get paid for 4 hours today. Making up 4 more hours later this week shouldn't be too bad unless I can't make it in tomorrow (likely the case)

All of you still fork out the cash for a land line? -
Here's something crazy! I just made homemade pudding with almost the last of our milk! Totally worth it.

These animal kills happen all over the planet all the time. Now that the media is everywhere, and it proved to be a good storyline last month, these stories will continue. Animals get sick all the time, there are also other reasons like a red tide that kills fish. Nothing to see here.

If that fails, try calling the Briar Patch and see where they get theirs

Yep - if you live in a non emissions testing county and try to sell a car to someone who lives in an emissions testing county, YOU the seller have to go get the emissions checked and passed before you can legally sell it to them.

If he wasn't in or near Smyrna, then he likely wasn't on a call. I live in East Paulding and there is a Smyrna PD that lives down the street (might be him - who knows). They often have to commute like the rest of us, but they are allowed to go as fast as they want to get there. I wouldn't bother to do anything about it. Nothing will come of it. Since everybody here loves the police, what are your thoughts on blue line stickers that are given to wives, girlfriends, etc to get them out of traffic infractions???

hail....? Its not possible for it to be a shotgun. Do you hear of people going bird hunting (dove, quail, etc) and shooting hundreds of birds? After one shot, the rest wouldn't stick around for more. I think global warming zapped them like a microwave
