  1. there is never a line at the carrollton office, but it depends on which side of paulding you are located whether it is worth the drive (south paulding, new georgia, villa rica area)
  2. You also have to realize, you are competing with all the military families moving into the are due to the F-35 training and the army special forces being moved from fort bragg coming to eglin air force base and hulburt field, duke field, etc. There is a housing shortage there and it will continue for at least 4 or 5 more years. The military families are not wanting to live on base (even though they are building a lot of new base housing) and cannot afford the fort walton / navarre area, so they are going to that corridor along I-10 between milton and crestview, etc to buy and rent houses.
  3. Also on the hispanic aisle are the "real" soft drinks and cookies/snacks made with sugar, not high fructose corn syrup. Similar to aldi, the stuff is imported (only america makes stuff with corn syrup). Try the drinks like coke and sprite, etc, and you can tell the difference in the flavor. If you remember how coke and pepsi tasted in the 70s and 80s, you will like this version better.
  4. I agree, read the small print --- some companies charge extra for leaving the state and having more than one driver, etc. The major rental companies have GPS/onstar and will know if you have left the state. A significant number of people will rent a vehicle local unlimited mileage for a month and then go to california for vacation, etc, so they do watch the vans and SUVs (of course they hit you with the extra charge after you get back). If you have AAA, they will cover roadside assistance for any vehicle that you are driving, not just the owned ones.
  5. "Hundreds of thousands of jobless Americans are losing their federal unemployment benefits earlier than they expected due to new rules passed in February that make it harder for states to qualify for extended jobless aid, the New York Times reports." here is a yahoo news story explaining the situation: http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/lookout/states-federal-government-reduce-length-jobless-benefits-144413734.html
  6. Or you can save the word file with a memorable password and email it to yourself as an attachment, so a copy will always be in your in-box. Similar to having a key lock box with one key or combination to open it to get to all the other keys inside.
  7. Hey, just passing along the info --- he says the same idiots work there as most any other jobs and they will accidentally dump diesel in the gas and vice versa, and more commonly dumping regular unleaded in the premium tanks. With over 100 drivers delivering to 3 or 4 stations around metro atlanta daily, it does happen each month (reported). Also, they don't usually "fill up" a tank at the station, just top them off / add a couple of thousand gallons. So, in the end, the smaller percentage bad product is not going to be that noticeable --- especially in the computerized self adjusting
  8. My neighbor works at penn tank lines (fuel delivery), and yes they have drivers incorrectly dump pretty often. The pits are often not marked well and at 3am at a strange gas station, incorrect dumps do happen more than once a month (whether they are documented or not is a different issue). Also, when they load the incorrect fuel in the wrong trailer compartment at the pipeline is another place where contamination does actually occur. They do carry avgas (100 low lead)and jet A in the same trailer (but different compartment) for when they deliver to the small airports in the area. And, occa
  9. It could also be the computer bios has changed and does not recognize the CD/DVD drive any longer. Press <F2> at the boot-up dell screen to go into setup and see if the drive is listed as one of the devices.
  10. i'll give it to ya' -- but you can't tell anyone else.... 1 (16 ounce) container sour cream 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of shrimp soup 1 dash Worcestershire sauce 1 pinch garlic salt Directions Melt sour cream, cream cheese, shrimp soup, Worcestershire sauce and garlic salt over a low heat in a medium size pot. Cook until melted together and the mixture has a creamy texture. Pour mixture into a serving bowl. Serve hot.
  11. Yes, the S.E.B. - state extended benefits (federally funded) have been cut off (since april 20th?) due to georgia unemployment having dropped below 9%. I do not know about the 3rd or 4th tier regular state unemployment benefits. Ironically, since the SEB claimants are no longer certifying each week, i guess they are not counted as being unemployed any longer, and that means the georgia unemployment rate will be (artificially) even lower.
  12. So, he is 33 years old, makes minimum wage, and has 30 kids. -- these women need to take some responsibility too. Now the rest of us taxpayers have to support them with food stamps and welfare, assuming they (mothers) are about as bright as he is. Of course, you never know, they might be U.T. students....
  13. They are not sworn in and under oath as when anyone testifies in an official matter. If you should see any of them sworn and questioned, they usually take the 5th amendment privilege.
  14. what about bees? are they considered livestock?
  15. but, you have never eaten at Freddy's you will have the opportunity soon -- one is coming to the atlanta area
  16. I sell & ship college text books and they have lost 5 in the past 12 months -- i always got reimbursed from the insurance. In my opinion, it seems as if the media mail takes longer to leave the hiram post office than when i ship out of dallas or powder springs (via tracking)
  17. I don't think there was another side of the story, they were mixing trash meat in with the good stuff and selling it at premium. I guess they can only sell so much of it to the dog food manufacturers.
  18. All the newer/updated ace hardware stores have the equipment to do this. The strange thing i found was the ace in kennesaw (on 41 near the cobb airport) was considerably cheaper than the other stores in dallas and douglasville. I got a camaro key from them for $39 (other stores were $79) and a mitsubishi key there for $79 when the other ones were $129. As far as programming the remote, it depends on the vehicle. Some cars are easy, and some require you to either pull a fuse or place a jumper wire at a connector under the dash, etc. You just have to research your particular car online
  19. The civilian version was made from 1945 to 1980, originally it was the the military m37 truck used in world war 2. Prior to the dodge power wagon, pickup trucks were only 2 wheel drive.
  20. usually when buying a house (especially a HUD home) with a well, you have to get the well tested for capacity and flow rate, the water is tested for pathogens and heavy metal, etc. -- although some mortgage companies do not require it
  21. you are correct, but depending on how the law is written in each jurisdiction, what if you are checking the voice mail? or, by putting in your password, are you then considered texting too? not sure about the state patrol and any deals, but villa rica patrols I-20 too looking for tourists and other sources for revenue.
  22. If you have been around long enough, you would remember j.b. stoner over in marietta. His house was a stone's throw from kennestone hospital. His rhetoric and signs could not be stopped and they were away worse about offending than these earlier posts. He finally died in 2005.
  23. It is called neighborhood "watch" for a reason, not neighborhood confrontation -- to keep the zimmermans and these clowns from killing someone. It is only one small step to get to vigilante. As far as history, that does not make a difference. A bank is robbed, so are you more cautious when going into that bank from now on? Do you go around the store looking for (& confronting) shop lifters? -- because it happens all the time around you. The house may have been vacant for a year, but it is still private property that did not belong to them, and the bank did not hire them to be s
  24. Lockheed uses a jetstar for some in-flight photography. It has a higher ceiling and speed for keeping up with fighters, so they could be taking F-22 pictures. There are very few jetstar's still flying out there other than lockheeds (there were not alot bought in the first place)
  25. Yes, they over reacted. Bubba and bubba jr made alot of assumptions, and race may have made a difference. They saw a black couple (that barely spoke english) messing with the locks on a supposedly vacant house (trailer?). There are several acres there, so the houses were not that close together anyway. Sheriff deputies obviously took the side of the "locals".
